On changes

I've been doing a lot of thinking, pondering and praying lately. I'm completely over my job and need a change. But I can't seem to figure out what I want to do. My degree pretty much means nothing. I would like another job, but I don't know what to go for.

I'm thinking about studying again, but I'm not sure I really want to. A part of me knows I have to do something and I can't keep on complaining about my job when I don't do anything to change it. The people at work are starting to bring me down with their moods. I try not to let it affect my positivity but a bad mood atmosphere can really affect me.

I'm sick of rude customers, I'm sick of not having enough staff and them expecting us to do all sorts of jobs plus serve. I'm sick of people leaving things all over the place and expect us to clean up after them. I'm sick of staff complaining because it makes me want to complain.

I've been at this job for nearly 3 years and I just need a change. I do want to get out of retail, but I'm afraid that I'll feel the same in a different job unless I find something that I will enjoy.

If I study I was thinking of doing a librarian course. It won't be at university but at Southbank Institute. My dad offered to pay for my tuition because my parents know how much I desire to get out of retail and I've wanted to work in a library for awhile now.

My biggest problem is confusion. I can't seem to make a decision and I feel like I'm just wasting time. There are soo many things I want to do with my life and I can't seem to organise myself properly. I'm just so frustrated! It's creeping into my personal life and making each work day a struggle and making me emotionally exhausted at home. For example I was cutting up a watermelon and dropped a piece on the floor. For some reason it was the turning point in making me break. Dropping a piece of watermelon brought me to tears?! I pretty much curled into a ball and cried while Jason held me.

Anyway, I didn't mean to go on in this post. It sort of came out. I try not to let negativity be a part of this blog but there are times when I can't seem to stop it.

I definitely need to pray more and rely on God more in this time of my life. I'm going to take action and try and make this change and not sit and sulk.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!! And sorry for such a depressing post...just feeling a bit down.

My swap package

Thanks so much for your comments on my headband :) It's something I'm thinking about putting into my Etsy shop eventually.

I have yet to show what I sent and I what I received for my Just Because You're Lovely swap. There were a few problems and I'm not sure I would host another biggish swap. If I do it will be a postcard or letter swap or something small.

Anyway, here is what I sent to my partner, the lovely Jasmine.

This is the whole lot I sent her. It was mainly a lot of stationery because she has a little obsession like me.

A few pens and pencils.

A camera pen and some cute letter sets.

Some highlights, paperclips and some masking tape.

A card, a journal, some stud earrings I made and a book locket necklace I made.

This was the sweet card from Jasmine.

This was attached to the front of the parcel.

The whole lot! I really love each and every item. I haven't tasted the tea yet but I might have it tonight. I adore the little spoon too.

Plenty of butterflies :) and pink bits.

This journal is amazing!! I've wanted to get one similar for while one. I love the old carte postale style (I'm thinking of starting a collection of items like this I think).

Thanks again to everyone who participated. I truly hope you had fun. Remember you can email me photos or blog about the swap. And if you still have problems let me know.

Have an awesome weekend! After work tomorrow we are off to the Sunshine Coast for my brother's bday!

My new handmade headband

The started off a bit badly. I had cramps, felt light headed and my skin around my mouth went red and itchy as it sometimes does at that time of the month.

I ended up staying home (well my parents house). I didn't really have anything to do so I thought I would try and be creative. I'm glad I've left a few things at my parents place or I would have nothing. I found some fabric and took some buttons from my mum's sewing box and I found some elastic.

On my Twitter I mentioned that I love headbands so why not make them myself :) So I gathered my materials and this is what I came up with...

I've seen some headbands like this and I loved them. I'm so glad my mum had these buttons.

Elastics sometimes don't stay in my hair but this worked for me.

So what do you think??

Anyway, Glee is on, the new Ikea catalogue has come in the mail and Jason is coming back from Sydney tonight!!

Thoughts for the week

I change my mind a lot with posts. Hopefully the next one will be mail related and announce the giveaway winner, which I've already drawn :)

These are a few of my thoughts for the week...
I will be always be a child when it comes to Christmas. The excitement I feel when I see decorations, lights and Christmas trees is evident by my girly squeals and smiles.
I really need to invest in better work shoes or I may not be able to walk after Christmas.
Mail and putting together packages really does make me happy.
I adore that Jason won us a free dinner and a free night at the Marriott hotel just by buying some raffles tickets at an work awards lunch today.
I hate 9-9 work shifts.

I would love to get this pink Filofax for next year's diary.
I should learn to take better care of my GHD so it doesn't die on me.
I need to learn to be more organised instead of letting my mail build up
For Christmas this year, I will make a point to try and buy more handmade items for everyone.
When it's gloomy, rainy weather I like to sit in the dark instead of turning on a light. It calms me.
Sometimes I squeal when I see tiny baby clothes which make me want to have a baby, but then I read some women's birth stories and it makes me never want to have kids.

Who wouldn't want to receive a teeny tiny package or teeny tiny letter. I should send a few of these out to some pen pals one day :) I sent one to Jason once. It's absolutely adorable!

Next post I will talk about mail and the giveaway winner :) have a fantastic weekend!

Tired with some mail to do

Hey lovelies! It's been a hard work week. We are opening our Christmas shop at work and I've been unpacking all the stock. We've running around trying to get it open. And today I had to work out on the loading dock area opening more stock! It was an extra shift. And tomorrow is a 9-9 :(

Anyway, this is just a small mail post with some of my outgoing mail. I have a lot more incoming mail that I will share next post.

Outgoing mail...

Some Postcrossing post cards that I've recently sent. I don't usually take photos of them but I didn't really send the touristy ones for once.

I found this in one of my fave shops, Mombasa.  I was excited to find they sell postcards now.

One of the tourist postcards that I actually like.

I've had this postcard for awhile but it seemed to fit one of my partner's profiles.

I received this cute postcard from Megan :)

Another postcard I bought from Mombasa.

These are the cards I'm sending out for my Spread the Love post. Sorry ladies they will be sent out very soon!

And this is for Jasmine for the Just Because Your lovely Swap. She has received half the package which is why I can't show photos yet :)

So next post will be my incoming mail (I have so much mail to catch up on). And to announce the giveaway winner. Make sure you have entered my giveaway before Friday :)

Have a wonderful rest of week!
