USA Trip 2013 - NYC

Hello lovelies. I'm finally getting around to posting my photos from my USA trip last year. My girls trip. It was a once in a lifetime trip! I travelled with my friend Alyssa from Sydney and we met up with our friend Nicole in NYC and another friend Ezgi from London. Alyssa and I have 'known' Nicole for years now so it was a surreal experience to actually meet in person. I'm still so grateful for the connections you make through blogging.

2. A locks of love gate across from our hotel

9. My Pandora bangle bracelet and apple bead I bought in NY and my Kate Spade bangle

We watched a few Broadway shows, Romeo and Juliet (with Orlando Bloom), Cinderella and Matilda. The night we watched Orlando we waited outside to see him. We had our phones out and playbills ready and when he did come out the side door we got photos, a video and our playbills signed. It was an amazing experience.

I will have part two up shortly and the rest of our trip. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Floral Friday - Something Romantic

Hello lovely people. I'm finally back into blogging. What better to get back into it than with a monthly series hosted by Trishie of Under Lock and Key. Details on how to join are at the bottom of the post. This months theme is 'Something Romantic.'

I love the colour pink. It reminds of girlyness, softness and romance.

One of my favourite ways to add a touch of romance at home is to use different sized glass bottles/vases and fill them with pastel coloured flowers.

Don't you love fresh flowers in your house? It's fresh, fun and adds colour.

Have a wonderful weekend. I'm having a belated birthday picnic :)

"Floral Fridays is a monthly photography project with different themes each month. This series is about fun and taking time out to smell the flowers. To play along, please email Trishie (trishie@underlockandkeyblog.com) for next month's theme".

A third birthday party

Last weekend I had my 'adopted niece's' 3rd birthday. I only have nephews so it was fun to attend a girly party.

1. My gifts all wrapped up. She loves My Little Pony. I must admit it was difficult to let go of that plush
2. The delicious cake made by my sister in law Gem
3. Girly party bags
4. Star shaped fairy bread
5. Little drinks decorated with washi tape. These were plastic which were perfect for a kids party
6. Mini hot dogs (so yummy)
7. Butterfly cupcakes
8. Smiling for the camera
9. Blowing out the candles. Check out her hot pink nails!
10. Caught unawares opening her gifts. This is my fave photo of her
11. Nephew Elijah eating ice cream
12. My nephew Micah
13. Me with my new daisy dress that I love from Princess Polly. This dress was sold out so I was so happy to see it come back into stock.
14. Layla getting her craft on and my nephews Caeleb and Isaiah playing games as usual.

My girly side was satisfied and it was a nice change to be surrounded by all things pretty, pink and sparkly. I hope you had a great weekend. Only two more weeks until my USA girls trip!!
