Lately I've been thinking about taking a dance class. I really want to do more physical activities but not just the usual running and other things. And I thought ballet would be lovely. I took it as a child but didn't like it then, I don't know what I was thinking. I also did a bit of beginner ballet in my dance class subject at school. It's always been a fascinating style to me and I would love to do it for fun.

I've loved ballet and ballet related things for a long time. My mum and I used to watch a ballet performance each year...but we haven't for awhile so I must start this up with her again. I love ballet shoes, tutu skirts and other ballet inspired fashion. I just think it's so beautiful.

I want to share some lovely ballet images. I love pointe shoes and I have a pair that Laura gave me. They are packed away for the moment until I know where I will display them.

There is something so dreamy and fantasy like about ballet and it never fails to make me catch my breath. The costumes, the dancers looking as light as air, the pointe shoes and when it's all put together. Mesmerising!

I've been looking at this ballet studio called 2ballerinas. I have a friend who is already interested in doing the classes with me. And there is another studio I'm looking into. I'm quite excited about it and I think I will do it! This is my year for not holding back on the things I've wanted to do for years :) My year to step out of my comfort zone!

Next time I should write my little list of goals. Have a wonderful weekend everyone! I'm on the Sunshine Coast again for my future sis in law's bridal shower. And Alice in Wonderland thrown in there too!

A new career

You lovelies are so wonderful! Thanks for your comments and support. I woke up to sunshine and that made me happy. I'm still feeling drained but I can slowly feel the creativity and energy trickle back in.

As I mentioned in my last post I'm doing a job hunt. It's so time consuming and applying can be such a hassle.

For awhile now I've been thinking about what I want my career to be. I've changed my mind over the years and I think it's due to my interests changing. Since year 10, when I was 15 I thought I wanted to be a Physical Education teacher, for high school. I went to an open day at the Queensland University of Technology and spoke to a guy who was in the Human Movement course. He pretty much convinced me and for the rest of my high school life I worked towards that goal.

Well that all changed when I wasn't able to get into the course I wanted. So I did a few other things such as Sports Development. I then went into Social Science at the University of Queensland. My goal was to go into Human Movements after doing a year of Social Science. So I was doing a fill in course and at a university that was not my first choice. The next year I was in Human Movements. Finally I thought I had reached my goal, but I didn't notice that over the years my love for that career had shifted and changed.

So basically I changed courses again and went into the Bachelor of Arts majoring in Sports Studies. I thought I would go into Sports Administration and work with sporting organisations such as Queensland Athletics (which used to be one of my passions). I really only did this degree because I was so frustrated with myself for changing my mind and I just had to have a degree to have something to show for all my years of studying.

So I graduated about 2 years ago and I'm still working in retail, at Myer. I don't mind it but I'm completely over working at a place that was only meant to be temporary. And I could not do retail for the rest of my life.

After much thinking, praying and talking I think what I'd like to be a librarian. I struggled with what I thought others would think, that it's a boring job, that it's nerdy. Stupid reasoning I know but now I've come to terms with that fact that I don't care if people think it's nerdy or boring or only old people are librarians.

And Jason thinks I would be good at it. He is very supportive. My goal at the moment is to work in a library, but I may have to volunteer first to get some experience. For me, I think I would like to work in a library, volunteer at my church and the children's hospital and to have a creative side business, most likely stationery. What do you think??

So we will see how this goes and I will keep you all updated to see how this all goes :)

Just a Minute in March....

Watching... Alice in Wonderland (hopefully this weekend...last weekend was basically impossible unless you bought the tickets online)

Reading... The Time Travelers Wife, The Picture of Dorian Gray (still haven't finished it) and 1984 (still trying to finish it)

Looking... For a new job. I think it's time for me to move on from retail. Had enough, though I will miss my awesome staff discount.

Feeling... Out of sorts...but happy

Wishing... It would stop raining (nearly 2 weeks of rain. That is a lot for us) or at least to have some cute wellies :)

Wanting... to deck out my creative space but too lazy to actually do it. Sigh.

Thinking... I would love to receive lots of mail again :) I guess I should get started on letters and other things.

Praying... For some guidance with what I should do; what career do I want? Where do I see myself?

Hoping... I will be able to cook more meals from scratch.

Loving... Being married! And being a wifey

It's weird but I feel so creatively drained at the moment and I'm at loss at what to say. Please if you have any ideas let me know in the comment section :)

I feel like I have gone through so many changes and I'm just trying to get my head around it all. Getting married, buying a house, changing my name...just trying to get used to it. I miss my family though they don't live far and I get to see them often, it's just different. But I love being with Jason and I'm really looking forward to the future.

This is a just a random side thing, but my mum commented on one of my posts and I just liked the comment.

Honeymoon

Hello! Thank you for all your comments on my wedding photos. It feels like it was awhile ago now. Today I thought I would share some honeymoon photos. We went to Hamilton Island which is in the Whitsundays which is part of the Great Barrier Reef. So there are plenty of activities. Only problem is we went at a horrible time weather wise. We got one day of sunshine (on my birthday!) and maybe a half day of sunshine. The rest of the time it rained or was overcast. (like this whole week so far, but I'm really enjoying the rain).

But nonetheless we still have a lovely, relaxing time. The photos are sort of all over the place but pretty much shows a snippet of the week.

I think this was the first day we arrived. It was low tide and raining.

Breakfast was great. We always started with a bowl of fruit. Our breakfasts were long and relaxing.

We went into the main town. This is the boat harbour. We went into town via golf buggy. It's cute because everyone drives golf buggies around the island. There aren't really any cars.

Fish and chips are so good when you are near the water. Always so fresh.

We had a visitor, a cockatoo. A lot of the natural wildlife were just hanging around.

On the beach. This day had a little bit of sunshine. So we hung out on the sun lounges and read our books.

This is at a public pool on the island. Our resort had it's own but we decided to explore. This is the day I got sun burnt. I forgot to put sunscreen on my front half. So stupid! I hardly ever get burnt because I always lather sunscreen.

This is the public pool. Over in that hut, it's a bar. They have stools in the water and you can sit and have a cocktail in the pool.

I stayed away because some of the people there were a rowdy bunch.

We ordered these chips and aioli sauce from the restaurant in the resort all the time. We always got room service which I just love! It was pouring down this day so we had chips and ordered some movies.

We played some mini golf too.

And I beat Jason! Whee!

This happened after mini golf and it was hot and sticky. We went for a swim and had a cocktail by the pool. Within minutes it started pouring down with rain. You can't see the mountains that are normally there.

This is the resort pool. It's an infinity pool which is great!

We had a dinner and cruise as part of our honeymoon package. I didn't bring any hair things with me so my hair is so messy all the time or that's why it's always tied back.

The night of the dinner and cruise it poured down with rain. That night there was a king tide and the next day the water was up so high.

At low tide there was this little island that you could walk to. A lot of people did so we checked it out.

There were all these tiny crabs and other little sea things. I actually hated walking in this area because of fear of stepping on some little crab.

Jason took a few shots of me wondering around the water. This is one of my favourites.

This is the day of my birthday! Yay for sun.

Jason got me this little cupcake to be my birthday cake at breakfast. It was so cute and sweet. He said I needed some kind of cake for my birthday.

We used one of those paddle boats too. And we went on a Reef Ryder boat and we went jet skiing for my birthday. Those photos are on our disposable waterproof camera we bought.

In the late afternoon we had this sunset ride that was also part of our package. You can see my horrible bikini tan. I chose the day to get burnt to wear the bikini with straps.

It was such a beautiful day! It sucks that we never got to see a sunset on Hamilton. Everyone says it's amazing.

We really had a lovely time and would love to come back another time. And I want to get the photos from the waterproof camera so I can show jetskiing and the Reef Ryder boat. We did want to go snorkeling because we are on the Great Barrier Reef and it's what you do, but they said the water wasn't very clear and it would be a waste of money. We were going to also go on a boat with a glass bottom to check out the fish but again water was too murky for that.

Oh well next time we will. Have a wonderful rest of week. I'm off to the Sunshine Coast for 2 days. I have to get my dress fitted for my brother's wedding!

Wedding...Part 2

Hello! I want to say thank you for all your comments! They make me feel so happy. Here is part two of the wedding. Again there are a lot of photos but no where near as many as we have. We had to do our photos really fast. We started taking them too late.

I realised after I was wearing the rings in the wrong order. It should have been the wedding ring than the engagement ring.

There was a beautiful mirror in the foyer area. Jason and I didn't get to have photos with it.

Caeleb took the ribbons from the favours and tied them around his head. And he took one of the grooms men's boutonnieres.

Each centre piece was made up of lanterns with butterflies and a frame with a photo of us holding the table number.

This was just after the first dance. I really love this photo.

I'll probably post the honeymoon pictures and talk more about the details from the wedding. I will try and get back to blogging about other things soon. I hope you enjoy the posts and not over it yet!
