Just a Minute in...September

Looking... forward to Christmas! We have started unpacking the Christmas decorations at work and it's making me excited. Our Myer Christmas shop should be open next week!!

Starting... to write my Christmas list out. I like planning people's gifts around this time of the year.

Planning... on buying a lot of handmade presents this year. And giving more charity type of gifts too.

Loving... this warmer weather. It's getting to be quite beautiful each day.

Feeling... a bit lazier today. My work shift was extended yesterday and I forgot how tiring 11 hour shifts can be.

Wanting... to make a bigger impact on the world.

Right now I'm feeling a bit flat but I think that's due to tiredness and the rainy weather today. It's making me feel lazy. I do have a more personal post lined up but I haven't quite figured out how to write it yet.

On another note...Is anyone else getting excited about Christmas??! Lol or maybe me since it's still early days.

Thank you all so much with your comments on my last post about my little stall. It's most appreciated.

Well this little post is about giveaways. As I mentioned before I was having a giveaway for everyone that had participated in my Just Because Your Lovely swap. Packages are being sent out and some have already received :) I hope to post photos sometime.

This is what I was giving away. I love Compendium and their journals are some of my favourites.

Anyway, I put all the names in a little jar and have pulled out the winner.

The Weekend...

Hello! I'm had a pretty busy week and weekend which is why I'm been so slack lately. I will email the first 10 people who commented on my last post very soon. And I will do the rest of my list this week (hopefully).

The reason I was so busy was because I had a stall selling my mini note cards and some stud earrings at an event called All for Love for an organisation called Joshua Care International. A non-profit organisation helping people in the Philippines through sponsorship, feeding programs etc.

It was a fun night and it was a good experience. I've never sold my note cards in public before and it was a little nerve wracking.

It's not super creative because I kind of ran out of time with putting it all together. And my hair is a bit of a mess because I didn't have much time to get ready for the night.

A closer view of my mini notecards. Those little envelopes on the note cards actually have a tiny little note inside that you can write on. I add some envelope seals too with the note cards too and little envelopes of course.

So, I will hopefully have my Etsy shop up again and I might giveaway some items in my giveaway post (I have been talking about this for so long). I have a ton to catch up on...

Spread the Love

This little project has been started by the lovely Melissa from Oh, My Darling. Basically each day for a week you must do something lovely for someone which is positive and filled with love and gratitude. I think it's a wonderful thing to be a part of.

I might have to start mine this weekend of I can always start today. I have a few ideas that are bouncing around my head right now. Check out Melissa's blog for more ideas and see what she has been doing.  She's such a sweet and positive person and she has inspired me :)

So here are a few of my ideas for Spread the Love...

♥ Send some letters and little packages to some friends (blog and others)
♥ Bake some Jam drop biscuits for Jason and me (I have the ingredients I just haven't done it yet)
♥ Start my little mail project I have been thinking about
♥ Actually post about my giveaway :)
♥ Send out some positive emails
♥ Share happy thoughts each post I do for at least a week (maybe I should turn it into a month)
♥ Make some brownies for my mum and dad for being wonderful
♥ And just for fun - with the first 10 comments I'll send out a little card or post card to you :) With a handwritten message of course.

I hope I can do more than this, but it's a start. I must get back to making mini notecards for my event/stall this weekend!!

Have a fabulous rest of week!!

Mockingjay, lists and other random bits

This is another post with lists :) I find it easier at the moment as my mind is all over the place.

Well, what can I say about Mockingjay?! It was heartbreaking, depressing and bittersweet but I loved it. There were times that I had to stop reading because it became to much for me but I still enjoyed it. It's by far my favourite series ever and I think I will be forever haunted by the books. I'm still thinking about this book. I had a wide range of emotions as I was reading and towards the end my heart would not stop beating so fast. It was intense.

♥ It's great to have Jason back. He had the day off today so it's nice to be able to spend time with him
♥ I didn't stay at home this weekend but went to stay with my parents. I don't like to be home alone and prefer company (this stems from having someone break into my parents house when I was home along I think).
♥ It was my mum's birthday on Saturday night so it worked out that I was staying there.

♥ I have an event this weekend so I need to be creative this week. Lots of mini note cards and some stud earrings. 

♥ I have lots of mail to catch up on

My new mail carrier thing. It's a good way to keep track of it all.

♥ I still have a giveaway that is planned but just hasn't been done yet

♥ I'm still pondering my mail project (I must stop trying to do too many things at once)

♥ I'm going to be revamping my blog and moving to my dot com website soon. With Jason's help

♥ It's scary to think that Christmas stock will be needing to be unpacked at work in the next few weeks

♥ I really just want to spend the afternoon watching movies or TV shows

So again, it's a post about my mixed up thoughts. Have a wonderful week. 

Mockingjay

I haven't finished reading this yet because I only got it yesterday. There was this whole drama with my bookstore where I pre order didn't receive the books in time. I ended up getting it from my work place. My work mate went through all these boxes of books to find the book for me. I'm so grateful to her.

I wasn't going to read it on Wednesday anyway, I was leaving it for Friday as a reward for a long work day yesterday.

Anyway, I really want to finish it so I can join in the discussion which are already happening and it's so hard to stay away from spoilers. Plus Jason is away this weekend :( I'm already missing him. I guess you can see that we are still in the honeymoon period :)

But I'm LOVING the book so far. It's definitely the most intense and I can't wait to finish it. Have a wonderful weekend. I hope to check all your blogs after the book :)

I feel like having a lazy day today. I sometimes hate having to work on weekends (actually I hate it most of the time). It's nice when it's my day off.

A few things on my mind...

♥ Swap partners are done and I emailed everyone on the weekend. I hope you enjoy the swap and send me photos of your packages if you want to :) and I'll put them on the blog

♥ I would like a new job. Or I would love to work at home being creative and spend time volunteering more

♥ I must decorate this house and finish the organising

♥ I really want to decorate my letters better, so I will try it with my letter pile.

♥ I do have a blog giveaway in store.

♥ Thinking of ways I can help people more

♥ Lovely comments really make me burst with happiness

♥ My excitement for Mockingjay is truly reaching epic proportions (it comes out tomorrow!!!!!)

♥ Planning a trip to the US next year (I hope...it doesn't hurt to at least plan it)

♥ Thinking of a mail project that will somehow relate to this blog

♥ Making lots of note cards and earrings in the next two weeks for etsy and my event

♥ Noting down all my ideas, aspirations, dreams, wishes and prayers

I've been weirdly emotional lately and doing a lot of thinking. There always comes a time when I question what I'm doing with my life and I take the time to reflect on it. I had a nice talk with Jason over breakfast on Sunday morning and it made me realise what my passions were and what I want to achieve. For now I will just have to write about it in my journal and I might share it on this blog one day :)
