I'm going to try and do some WIP photos. This is my skirt sections. It took me the 3 1/2 hours of the lesson to learn to read the pattern and cut this out and iron on interfacing. But at least I sort of know how to read a pattern now.
The skirt I'm following is the one in the middle of this pattern pack. I don't wear long skirts ever. It looks kind of old the style but I couldn't get the one I wanted.
This is what I'm up to from my lesson last night. I just have to sew one side up and the hem. And to neaten it. lol I still don't really know what I'm talking about yet. Don't have the sewing lingo down pat.
I am hoping the skirt will be a little shorter with the hem up. Excuse the messiness of it as I am still learning. I'm quite proud of my zipper work though. Ana my teacher is great at teaching how to sew a zipper. And the little box that is seen in my photos is my little sewing box.

I just had to make a mosaic of Blythe sized sewing rooms. They are just too sweet! I love miniatures too. I've been tempted many times to buy a Blythe doll. If I ever do there will definitely be a sewing/craft room.
P.S. Will post about my tabletop letterpress hopefully next post. And I do hope I have something to show too.
P.P.S. Still completely caught up with The Hunger Games!
Ahhh dressmaking? I hope I can join a class like that. :D
ReplyDeletelooks great so far. I sew a lot and still haven't tried a zipper, bravo.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to learn dress making ... i can sew but it's your basic sewing ... this looks cool
ReplyDeleteLook at your skirt!! That is coming together so well! And you mastered the zipper straight off! You go girl! I see you setting up a little sewing corner in your studio area very soon :)
ReplyDeleteI am sooo jealous. I've tried to find a class around here, but the nearest one is 45 minutes away, and that's on a good traffic day LOL! Ah, the joys of rural life.
Can't wait to see the next pics of your wonderful skirt in progress!
