Memory Keeping

First I want to say congrats to my middle brother Alvin who proposed to his gf Melly on the weekend!

So now there are going to be two weddings in our family next year. Eepp!! Almost an excitement overload. (As a family we seem to really love play grounds). It's crazy to think that after my wedding a few months later my brother will be getting married too.

This week I'm doing a huge clean of my bedroom, the study, wardrobes...pretty much everything with my things. Whenever I clean I always get a bit nostalgic as I usually find old meaningful items like journals, letters and other little bits. It got me thinking about keeping memories.

I'm a journaller, letter writer and memory keeper. I have boxes of little items that mean something to me and I keep all letters, cards, notes and journals. Except there was a time I went on a rampage and got rid of my journals from age 12 to 18. For some reason I went a little crazy and didn't want to keep them. Now I regret my decision to throw them out and wish I could look back on what I wrote.

So I thought I would share a few memory items that I like or would love to buy.

I adore those photo albums with the black pages and the white paper between each sheet. I would love to get one of the Love memory books and fill one out with Jason. And that 365 diary is a great way to write a little something each day. When I journal I like to add pictures, stickers, movie ticket stubs, little bits of paper and other things.

I had to add this picture in. I definitely know that I would love my bridesmaids to be wearing the same colour but different styles. The more I see pictures like this the more I love it.

Have a lovely week and thanks for all your comments!

  2. Yay for Melly and Alvin; no doubt their wedding will also be pretty stylish! I love, love, love the picture of the different styles of dresses. I love the ruffles, so cute! Have you thought of a colour?

Ps I also threw out my journals... mostly cuz they were a bit embarrassing, hehe!

    I love you Bella x

  3. Congrats to your brother and his girlfriend. I wish I was more of a journal writer. Hopefully someday I will record my own story. Oh, and I love the idea of the bridesmaids in the same color but different designs. It really helps to showcase each girls personalities. Hope wedding plans are going well.

wow, you are so blessed to have 2 weddings in the family, i'll get lucky if one of my brothers gets married ;)

i love that image of all the different bridesmaids dresses - i so want to to do.

and it's no wonder why we're friends, i totally keep a journal where i tape notes and things that i want to keep or have sentimental value. i used to keep a box, but it got too full. even if its a napkin, if theres a special story behind it, i save it ;) haha.

  7. Wheeee congratulations to your brother and his new fiancee. Two weddings in the same family in the same year! How exciting! :)

I'm a huge memory hoarder, too. Like you, I have boxes in which I keep old letters, birthday and Christmas cards, significant stuff like movie tickets and wrapping paper... Sometimes I have waaay too many things and I have to throw some other stuff out, but I do that grudgingly. ;)

Bridesmaids in different styles but in the same colour are definitely a great idea. It's going to be a beautiful wedding, and you're gonna make a stunning bride!

  8. Love love LOVE kikki K, I really want the 365 journal! I got the You&me journal from kikki K, you know the one? You fill it all in about your relationship. I'm giving it to Szilveszter when I finish it (He doesn't know about it but he never reads blog comments :p ). Glad to hear about your brother, you must be even more excited to do your wedding planning! Won't be at soccer this week, by the way. :( Next week I will though. :) Have a lovely week. xox

  16. I went through a fit as well and tossed all of my "teenage" journals. I wish I hadn't. I would love to read what I was thinking and feeling back then.
