Bridesmaid dress crisis

At this moment I've got this cough that just won't go away and my poor iPhone has died. Looks like it needs some fixing. Sigh. I was doing so well by not ever dropping it but I did this morning onto the kitchen tiles.

Anyway, I know this whole bridesmaid dress thing isn't really a crisis, I'm just being overly dramatic. But I went to see a dressmaker and it turns out that it was a lot more expensive than I thought to get the dresses made. I had a mini freak out because I had always planned on getting them made and hadn't looked around too much. So now I'm thinking of just choosing the same dress and just get it altered slightly??

This dress from Forever New is a top contender. It's basic but quite pretty and I could add a little something to each dress to make it more unique and individual to each of my bridesmaids.

I know I was thinking about getting each bridesmaid to have a different style dress but as I had mentioned it doesn't seem to be happening. So I thought that dress up above could be a good starting point. I had another idea of having a Grecian style. Like this...

Maybe I could get a brooch added or a one shoulder sleeve to look a bit more Grecian like? (To the Forever New dress).

Or maybe I could put a lovely flower on the waist or something such as these dresses. Either on a belt/ribbon or as a brooch. Or I could mix up these accessories to make it different for each girl??

Gah! I know I've been really indecisive about bridesmaid and I'm sure you're all sick of my going on about it but I'm truly struggling to figure out what to do. So please disregard of my yapping. I feel the first signs of being stressed.

Anyway, thanks for all your lovely comments and I hope you have a fantastic week!!

  1. Looooove them all.

That Kate beckinsdale pic was also an inspiration for me.

I know a place where to get embellishments for the dresses in case brooches are too heavy or expensive. The rose is gorgeous too.

So are you still getting the lady to make the dresses or buy them and alter them. Forever new has such good stuff in at the moment!

Hope you're not stressing out too much and that your cough goes away. I love you my bella x

  3. I love the white one from Forever New, it's beautiful (but they all are! :) ). If you accessorise them all you could still have that individualised look, it'd be goregous! :) Hope you aren't too stressed or sick! Iphones...we're all too dependent on them, and then they go and break!!

  4. whatever you choose will be beautiful! i like the idea of the belt and/or broach to make them unique for each bridesmaid. different hairstyles for each girl would go a long way too :)

  5. I love the idea of doing Grecian themed dresses... so elegant and beautiful!! Here's an idea... the long strapless white dress- to make it more Grecian, you could buy some organza or tulle or chiffon, whatever fabric you want, and you could actually sew it into the top side of the dress and cross it over the bridesmaids chest and neck and drape it down her opposite shoulder (almost a toga look, but elegant and fun). You could do the one-shoulder sashes in all the same color or change them up to match bridesmaids personalities... or something like that. How fun to get to dream about your wedding!!

  6. Oh dear, that was a disappointment but as you suggested with the basic dress each bridesmaid can add their own personal touches to suit their style and add that little touch of flair to your event.

  12. I love personalizing the same dress! (the forever new one) You can go shopping for the accessories together! maybe delicate pins and ribbons or colorful ones! Depending on the wedding theme, really!

Oh and pearls! I am sure the bridesmaids will add personality through their choice of shoes anyway!

I hope you're feeling better xx

  13. What gorgeous options. I'm especially loving the floor length one! The bride of the wedding I'm in in Feb. is having each bridesmaid where a different type of flower in her hair.

  16. all these pics are gorgeous - i think if you add individual embellishments it will make each girl look a little differnet or same dress, different hair for each girl?
but that kind of style is a classic - i think it would look FAB on all body shapes! haha the stress has just started...deep breaths in....and out...let go!
