Flood Devastation

I'm not sure how many of you know but Queensland is in a state of crisis. The floods have devastated our state. There was a major and powerful storm with a mountain of water that swept through the town of Toowoomba (around 3 hours away from Brisbane). Their city is destroyed and many people are missing.

And today, the Brisbane River is swelling causing water to start overflowing and many suburbs are needing to evacuate because it's going to get worse in the next few days.

I can't even begin to let you know how heart breaking it is to see your city go into a state of panic. The grocery stores were inundated with people stocking up and people are packing up and moving to the evacuation zones.

I feel so helpless and all I can do is pray for everyone. I'm so thankful that we live just outside of the flood warning zones but Jason came home early from work because the Brisbane CBD is starting to flood :(

I urge you to please pray for Queensland and Brisbane. It's all we can do at this moment.

  1. It so heart breaking isn't it? I get tears every time I watch the news. They say it's going to be worse than the 1974 floods. I will be thinking of Queensland. Stay safe xxx

  4. We have it on our news over in the UK and its looks terrible.

Very very sad, so many people dead or having to be rescued.

It was the main headline in the news in the UK today and yesterday.

    I hope you are ok

  11. I am definitely praying for the craziness. I lived in Cedar Rapids (in Iowa) when the city was flooded a couple years ago - so many people lost their homes and the whole downtown was destroyed - I spent the next year doing counseling with flood victims and it was the saddest year ever :( I definitely understand the impact that this will have for that community, unfortunately. sending prayers!!

  14. Such a sad time :(

No one I know was affected badly, luckily. It was horrible to hear the news while we were in Melbourne and know that we couldn't help.
