Hello lovelies. I just wanted to give a bit of an update on the USA trip. The lovely postcards above were part of a gift from one of my lovely best friends. She also created and designed the bunting in the right hand corner just for me. It's hanging in my lounge room and it always makes me smile.
At the moment I'm looking for accommodation and listing what I want to do in each place we visit. So this is our itinerary... Los Angeles ~ San Francisco (maybe driving here from LA) ~ Las Vegas ~ Grand Canyon ~ Jason to Seattle and me maybe in North Carolina ~ New York ~ Toronto ~ Dallas ~ Tulsa (relatives) ~ Los Angeles.
Do any of you have some suggestions on what we should see, do, visit, experience and eat?? If I'm unable to go to North Carolina I will be going to Seattle with Jason but I will be spending the days by myself because Jason is going to a gamers convention (haaa!) so if you have any suggestions for that let me know.
I'm getting so excited especially because it's just under 3 months to go now. The countdown has begun and there is so much to do and plan. I'm also really looking forward to meeting some lovely blog friends :)
Have a wonderful rest of week.
So, so, so jealous!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see photos and hear all about it!

I'm excited for your trip and to meet blogging friends. That will be great. My mom and I are planning on taking a trip to meet my friend of 3 1/2 years in person for the first time. We met online and have talked every day since. :)

P.S. I am soooo sorry how long it's taken me to send you a letter. I'm hoping to work on it this week. :)
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I am SO excited for your USA holiday! Especially because I will finally get to "meet" you! I can not wait to spend time with you my lovely friend! And I can not wait for you to visit so many places. You will have a blast, I am sure!!

You are so lucky wish I was going.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time x
The only place I've been to from your list is North Carolina, so I'm afraid I can't offer any suggestions... But I hope you have a lovely trip! I'd say you should come to Alabama, but the only thing to see here is me! (ha, ha) Can't wait to see all the posts from your USA adventures. :)
ReplyDeleteI sent you an email this morning... I've had the most fabulous idea! Let me know what you think, okay?
ReplyDeleteI adore New York City, as you know. I recommend hanging out with Kary, who will know where to find all the best cupcakes! Central Park, Top of the Rock, MoMA, a Broadway show, dinner in Little Italy, the Brooklyn Bridge (which I missed)... and you HAVE to have breakfast at Alice's Tea Cup!
sounds like a fabulous vacation! when you come to NYC, you definitely have to visit Brooklyn. when i moved here back in '03 i really didn't think it would so quickly become a part of me! also, Toronto is such a fab city [my hometown!] with so much to do. i love downtown, a little west off the beaten path, though even that path has become well-traveled as of late.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, what a trip! You guys are going to have a ball. I did a very similar trip a few years back and it was super fun.
ReplyDeleteHere are my highlights and what I would rec:
LA: The pier at Santa Monica.
San Fran: Chinatown, Alcatraz, Lombard St (the crookedest street in the world!)
Vegas: Light show at Bellagio and go inside the Venice casino...
Grand Canyon: take the plane or helicopter ride.
Seattle: is actually really fun. EMP music museum is awesome, the pier is great for seafood and little shops, there's a nice little cute suburb for shopping called Fremont which is right down your alley, and the IMAX shows a great film about the nearby Mt St Helens volcano! I heart Seattle :)
North Caro: haven't been there!
New York: too much to write. But I really recommend the superfuture new york guide. I lived on it. If you want an essay of new york recs, email me :)
Toronto: haven't been there.
Dallas: go to nearby Fort Worth for rodeos and cool western bars and restaurants. Medieval Times is an awesome themed restaurant/show - super cheesy but fun - horses and kings etc
Tulsa: haven't been!
Phew! Sorry for the epic list but I got excited reading your itinerary!
I hope that you have a fantastic time! :) I want to visit Seattle myself.

I'm going to ny this weekend so check out my blog over the next few days for places where you can go there... Have a nice one!
ReplyDeleteYay! Can't wait to hear about your specific plans as they are developed. Seattle is a really fun city, so you'll have a great time even if you're by yourself! Although I definitely think you should try to make it down to North Carolina, because the South has a totally different culture than the west coast & the north. It's important to experience (I am biased because although I live in San Francisco, I am originally from Georgia!).
ReplyDeleteThis is such an exciting trip to plan! I have never been to North Carolina. www.tripadvisor.com is a great website for ideas. People comment on places they visited so you can get an idea of what to expect.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an amazing trip! I would be pretty jealous if I wasn't planning our own trip at the moment :) but hey, I haven't visited any of the places your going to so I guess I can be a bit jealous anyways.
ReplyDeleteI've especially heard so many amazing things about San Francisco.
And by they way; I got your letter yesterday :( yay!
Whohoo so exciting! And I see you are coming to the LA area in California, yay! Of course you should go to the beach if you have the time and if you have time to drive about an hour away from Los Angeles go to Laguna Beach, that is my favorite beach nestled by shops and the ocean. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have an amazing time.
