Belated Birthday Indoor Picnic

Every year I always have a really belated birthday party. I usually have some type of theme. This year it was a vintage, pretty picnic. We were supposed to go to Southbank but it has been raining. Today the weather was so unpredictable. It would be sunny, then cloudy but it didn't rain. I still decided to move my little picnic to my place and have it indoors (it was also hot and muggy outside so being inside with the air conditioning was really pleasant.

I put the lace on the tiny milk bottles to prettify them. And it looks great with the pink paper straws.

I made these paper pinwheels. They are one of my favourite easy decoration to make. 

My lovelies. My nephews Micah, Isaiah and Caeleb. And pretty Layla-Rose, Isaiah and Caeleb's sister. 

The food. Chocolate dipped strawberries, pepperoni, rice crackers, dips, camembert cheese, raspberry macarons, coconut macaroons (Jasmine made them - delicious!) and some vanilla with pink icing cupcakes.

I have a few Instagram photos that I might share another time. Plus I tried to get some photos with the girls but my camera doesn't like taking good photos indoors without a flash. I hope to get some from Jasmine.

Belated birthday update (with a video!)

Hello lovelies. Thanks for your comments. I just adore all my nephews. They make me so happy. As I mentioned before I was going to give a belated update on my birthday. It was an Instagram day but I wanted to document everything. 

Jason and I took the day off. He surprised me with some lilies and cheesecake. 

We had breakfast at Max Brenner at Southbank. Glad I got a cappuccino instead of hot chocolate. There was even a piece of chocolate in the coffee!

We got waffles for two. Delicious but filling. 

We walked over the bridge from Southbank into the City. They have the farmers markets every Wednesday. Lots of food. I wanted to take more photos but there were so many people and it was a stinkin' hot day (meaning I wanted to be in air conditioning and all the hot food was making feel worse). 

Afterwards, we went over to Paddington just beyond the city. This is Rara Superstar. I have mentioned this shop a few times. 

This was a random juice place. So tiny but quaint and the juice was refreshing on the hot day. 

There are a lot of pretty buildings in Paddington. I would go to this art classes just because it's held in a cute place.

When we got home I was surprised to see this package from lovely Alyssa.

At night we went out for dinner to Sugo Mi. It's delicious. For some reason I forgot to take photos of the rest of the day. All in all it was fun and adventurous. 

Now this video was done in the afternoon with my messy hair because it was too hot to leave it down. I hate being in front of a camera and I felt so awkward doing this so please don't judge me too harshly :P

Birthday Wishlist

Hello my lovelies. It's my birthday on the 1st of February. It's weird to think I'm more in my late 20's than early 20's. I know I look nothing like my age and I'm used to people being shocked when they find out how old I am. I have learnt to embrace looking young for my age and I'm sure I will love it even more when I'm in my 40's. 

I have a little birthday wish list. Just some random items that have caught my eye.

I've taken the day off work and so has Jason. We are going to spend the day exploring and taking photos. That's the plan anyway :) 

A birthday recap

Hello hello lovelies! Thank you for all your birthday greetings. I truly felt loved!!

Anyway, here are some photos from my birthday. I hope you're not sick of my face :p

I spent the morning shopping but then I met up Jason for lunch. Most of the things I bought were for swaps and for other people's birthdays but I did get a few little things for myself. Might do a post another time.

We went to this place called Sparrow & Finch. It's a cute place and I love the name.

My outfit for my birthday dinner. Went to a place called Sugo Mi. 

We shared this pizza called Dell'Orto. (sugo, bocconcini, grilled vegetables, goats and pecorino cheese - yummy!). You get to cut your own slices as they give you a pizza cutter. This was delicious! 

This is the foccacia we also shared. So so good!

It was a lovely and relaxed day. Thanks again for your greetings. You can not imagine how much I loved them.

26th BIrthday

It's my 26th Birthday today :) 

My new hair cut which you probably can't really see in this photo.

I do like my new hair. It's a good start to another birthday. 

Spending the day shopping, lunch with Jason and going out for dinner tonight :) 

And my gift from Jason is a new GHD!! (My old one died months ago - one of the reasons why I haven't bothered with my hair for awhile)

A few bday ideas

I first want to say that I haven't been affected by the floods but much of my state is flooded. It's pretty devastating to see and the rain has not stopped. My thoughts and prayers go out to all that are affected.

On a happier note (because we have to remain positive - and I can see that the Queenslanders have kept up their battler spirit no matter what and it makes me proud to see that even though many have lost everything they are still smiling and keeping their hopes up).

I have a whole lot of ideas for my birthday and I just want to note them down and see what you think. And if you have any ideas of your own :)

I'm getting a dress/costume made like this one. A few changes of course but it will be lovely. The sweet Erica is making it for me. 

I loved all her different blue dresses in the movie.

Some other ideas...

♥ I'm thinking of giving my guests a black (or colourful) hair bow as a favour

♥ Definitely setting up a photo booth so need some props for that (a little white rabbit, a pocket watch, random tea cups etc)

♥ I'm thinking of making a little white rabbit garland to hang

♥ Maybe hang teacups from tree branches or from string (perhaps a string of lights)

♥ My lovely Laura suggested that I should have the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack in the background 

♥ I'm going to put rugs around the yard and place mini teacups and teapots and scatter paper hearts

I'm still thinking of my other ideas (like food and other things to do). But it's not going to be traditional Alice in Wonderland. Just using the elements and hopefully inject it with my own personality.
