What's inspiring me lately

Right now I'm trying to recover from being sick. I was sick for a few days so took off work. I went to work for two more days but then took today off as yesterday I felt terrible. And it was a shocker day too. 9am to 9pm. Ugh!

Anyway, I was inspired by Ellia's post. I thought I would do a similar one by listing some of the things that are inspiring me lately. They're girly things actually and such simple things.

Stationery is always on my 'inspiring me' list. This is just a sample of stationery that I have recently bought. I found this site by chance and glad I did because I adore this stationery I bought.

I love this new range from Grant Archival. The company has come together with Cristina Re to create journals, scrapbooking paper, clear stamps and other paper craft bits. I love Cristina Re paper. I bought the butterfly journal in the upper right hand corner, though it's not a blank book (which I usually prefer) I don't mind because I love it. Oh and I bought some clear stamps too.

Here's my photo of the journal and the clear stamps I bought. Oh how I adore this new range =)

I love these Momiji dolls. I see them at Borders all the time and I would love to get one. Or a few. You can put little messages in them. They're so cute and I would love to be an owner of some =)
I first saw these books in Borders. I like to browse around in the kid's book section. These books are by Anna Pignataro. They're one of those look and find books. In the first page of the Princess and fairy it has a tiny envelope with tiny letter from the queen. It's such a cute book. And I'm hoping to get them. Though it will be a mini version I think.

Eee! Minitures. I would love to get myself some sweet minitures like this. I would even like to make a little house just to deck it out with these cute things. Ohh my how adorable are these??

And this is my latest creation. Teeny tiny notes as part of my note cards. That tiny envelope will be glued onto the front of my mini note cards.

On the back of the tiny notes I'm going to hand print some type of word. Most likely more inspiring ones. This is my new idea =)

Even more note cards

I'm loving the Olympics. I've been watching pretty much everyday. It's going to be a bit weird once it's finished I think. I've gotten emotional with the athletes with their ups and down. It's been fantastic!

You're all going to get sick of me posting note cards here. But I have more in preparation for my Etsy.

I picked up this pretty paper about a month ago and I love it! I hope the photos are clear enough.

More of the same paper. I think the little fairies are sweet. I bought about 3 packs of this paper because I loved it so much.

More paper I purchased. It's Basic Grey. The paper from that brand is lovely so I always seem to look for it.
This pattern makes me think of dreams? Not sure why. Maybe it's what I would say my dreams look to an outsider =p

Here's another one of those fabric buttons. I'm still tossing the idea around on whether I should include a range like. Maybe with different words?

This is another idea I have floating around. I recently discovered how to make these fabric flowers. It's something else I'm thinking of incorporating.
What do you think about the fabric buttons and fabric flowers on mini note cards?

Anyway, it's not long now until the shop! Take care everyone xo

Mini Blog Giveaway

Hello all I thought I would have another little giveaway =) I'm thinking of opening my Etsy shop on the 28th of July. Hopefully on that day or at least around that date.

But I thought to have a little giveaway in celebration! Here are the note cards that I'm giving away.

I made these awhile ago. With plans to put them in Etsy but I thought it would be cute to use them for the giveaway.

So basically there are four sets of 4 mini note cards and envelopes that I'm giving away. To participate you just need to leave a comment with an email or some form of contact. I will leave this up for about a week and then I will draw out the 4 winners. Feel free to let people know about this =)

Thank you for your kind words about my note cards and the encouragement to open my Etsy. Not long now and I'm so excited about it.

By the way I've cancelled my sewing classes. Long story lol but I hope to start them later on in the year.

Thanks again everyone!!

* Lol I think I should say that each winner receives one set of 4 note cards and envelopes. But there will be 4 winners =) Oh and each set will come with a little extra.

Note cards for Etsy

I've been trying to make some mini note cards and getting ready for when I open my Etsy next month I should think it will be.

They're quite simple and cute but I think that's my main style when I create them. So enjoy!

I'm loving the paper I'm using. And of course butterflies play a major role and it's a recurring theme.
I'm showing one card per set. They don't all match because it all depends on the placement of the pattern when I cut the paper out.

I guess that's what I like about them. They can look different. I'm also loving tiny rhinestones if you haven't already noticed.

Another thing that's different is I'm going to do some mixing and matching. I'm not sure yet if it's better to have matching cards per set or to mix them up. Any ideas??

And I haven't gotten round to making the envelopes yet either. I will get them done in time. I want to make at least 20-25 sets of 4 note cards before I open.

I'm also tempted to get a pro flickr account. Hehe I've been doing a lot of planning to get this Etsy shop open. I have a lot of ideas and I'm bursting with inspiration. Not just for the shop but in craftiness in general. My sewing course starts in 2 weeks!! So I'm trying to find an easy pattern for a skirt and some fabric. Feel free to suggest =)

A bit more inspired

Hello all! I'm feeling a lot more creative and inspired today. Yay for that. Thanks for the advice and other comments. It's nice to see how others deal with being in a slump.

I thought I would share some photos from the past few weeks that I haven't yet. I made some of them into mosaics because there would probably be too many photos otherwise.

This is Isaiah on his 7th birthday. I had his at lunch and had to rush off to my friend Kristina's party that afternoon.

This is me and my good friend Kristina at her 23rd high tea birthday party. It was such a beautiful afternoon. She sewed those cute little flutter sleeves on that top. I hope to be able to do little changes with some of my own clothes one day.

Just a random shot from where I was sitting. It was a lovely day. The afternoon sun was beautiful and the table setting was great! She had a massage therapist there and we were all given 5 minute massages. It was heavenly. Especially because I was quite sore that day.

I loved this photo of the pink punch which was delicious by the way.

Yum! Just looking at that makes me hungry. There was some savory food as well. She and her mum made a lot of the food here. The cupcakes were made by her. That second photo was just some things on my plate. First serving of course.

Here is a dodgy photo of my present to her. It was a tea for one teapot and cup, some lovely smelling body butter and a little cupcake necklace that I put together.

This was taken on mother's day at church. I'm wearing heels in the bark covered playground. I never wear heels usually unless it's a special occasion.

My gorgeous nephews. I missed taking photos of my mum on my camera. Ooops =(

Caeleb trying to tie his own shoelaces. Jason is trying to teach him to tie them but in the end he had to tie them for poor little Cael who had some troubles.

On a different note. Here are some more note cards. I think this is going to be one of my main styles.

Here are more note cards I made for a another penpal of mine. I adore the paper.

Well I'm loving my day off work and I'm feeling quite inspired so I hope it lasts. I've bought a few winter clothes but still wanting more. Eeep! That's what I get for working in retail and a big department store. Until next time.
