A bit obsessed

This is a bit of a mixed up post. Last weekend Jason and I watched Batman: The Dark Knight, finally. The first time we tried watching it was cheap Tuesday and even though it was had been out for about 3 weeks, the session wewanted to watch was still sold out!

Anyway I loved it! Batman has become one of my favourite superheros. I've become a bit obsessed. I bought the Batman Begins dvd and The Dark Knight m
ovie soundtrack. I loved it as well. Heath Ledger was so psychotic and wow did he play the part well. And I love Christian Bale in the first one so this one was no different =). Awesome movie if you haven't already seen it yet.
The other thing I'm obsessing over is Breaking Dawn. It was released a few days late here and I went and got my pre-ordered copy as soon as I could. I read for the rest of the day and finished it. I love it! So I'm in the process now of re-reading it as I want to make it go on for longer. If you haven't read these books you must start now!

Here's another little flickr mosaic. It's sort of how I'm thinking creatively lately.

I love to make fabric buttons now and have been tossing up different ideas for my note cards. And I'm wanting to sew which is represented in the first and last pics on the bottom row. I'd like to make those round fabric bulletin/inspiration boards and I would love a stationary drawer. I just need to get more organised.

Just a minute...in July

I thought I would try one of doing one of those little meme's. I found this one via daydreamlily.

Instructions...

Pretty easy really - pick any day of the month to post (maybe when you can't think of a thing to blog about!) and give us a handful of highlights beginning with an action, like: reading...or eating...

Give it a title, 'Just a minute...in (insert month)' so others can find them easily in your post list.

......................................................................................

In July I'm...

Reading... The Queen's Fool by Philippa Gregory...The Virgin's Lover by Philippa Gregory...God's Masterplan for your life by Gloria Copeland...and there's others that I've read and finished.

Watching...So you think you can dance (US)...Friends...Batman Begins...Batman: The Dark Knight...

Creating...Mini notecards and envelopes, penpal letters, fabric buttons.

Learning....How to sew. Well at the moment I'm trying to teach myself until I have a lesson.

Thinking...About all the crafts I want to try. I ha
ve a huge list and I just keep on thinking about it instead of doing them.

Looking...For a new job. I can't stand retail anymore. I need a change of environment.

........................................................................................

A few other updates, as you can see I'm back from Bathurst which was great but freezing cold! Though today is pretty cold for Brisbane. And I was meant to open my Etsy today but it's not going to happen for at least another week or so.

Ohh and Jack from So you think you can dance (Australia) winner was in Myer this past week.

It was a pretty dead day so everyone got excited. He's such a cutie. I only looked at him from the counter. I didn't go up to him like some of the cosmetics girls lol. I'm so glad he won it. Especially cause he's a local Brisbane boy!

I had to end this post with some pretty pictures. I would love to start taking gorgeous photos as well =)

P.S. I sent out the packages from my giveaway last week sometime. So I hope they all get received this week.

Still Slumping

I'm not sure why I still feel this way but I do. It's not like I don't want to make things or be creative I think it's more there's too much I want to do and don't know where to start. Does anyone else feel this way? Any advice??

I thought I would make another flickr mosaic. But this time it's items/projects that I would like to do one day. This is but a handful of crafty/creative endeavours I want to undertake. I do have a bunch of photos from the past weekend to share but I haven't got them on this computer. (I'm using my new Mac laptop by the way - don't think I have ever mentioned that I bought one a few weeks ago)

1. Magnet Trios, 2. FAA Blue Lucky Parcels - Sending, 3. Madelina, 4. Cozy sewing supplies, 5. Sac oiseau et coeurs, 6. Girl Face Easter Cookies, 7. Dizzie the Bird Onesie & Indian Summer Bootie, 8. Japanese Craft Book #15 excerpt, 9. Joli Papiers {Pretty Papers}~SOLD~ Thks :), 10. Paper Heaven, 11. P1018984, 12. spring post it note covers

I truly want to learn to sew, knit and crochet. I admire those who can do everything. I would love to be able to bake and cook, sew clothes. I really would like to design my own paper and stationary line. Does it sound like I want too much?? I don't know. I'm overthinking everything as usual. Don't mind me....

On another note I have been playing Mario Kart on Jason's Wii obsessively with people all over the world. And the Wii fit is sold out everywhere which is a shame.

A bit of a slump

Lately I've been in a bit of slump. I haven't made anything lately but at the same time I want to. Work sometimes kills the creativity. Especially working in kids shoes. Eeep! Though it can be quite cute to fit shoes for babies.

Don't worry this post isn't all about my slump =) I thought I would make a mosaic with some flickr favourites. They are all random and follows no particular theme. So enjoy....

1. Untitled, 2. cherry blossom cupcakes 048 _2, 3. Meet Rachel Ashwell, 4. Country Girl Clothespin Doll Group, 5. Cameos, 6. ♥ Sisters, 7. Sewing Kit Gift, 8. flutterbyes, 9. paper suitcase, 10. Littler still, 11. Sheaffer Shell fountain pen deskset, 12. Marie Antoinette, 13. vintage3.jpg, 14. Mini for Club Little House shown with "books", 15. Orders Sorted, 16. embroidery hoop bulliten board

This mosaic is a mixture of favourites and items I like which includes: paper and stationary, cute little dolls, minitures, cameos, pretty vintage dresses, Marie Antoinette, cupcakes and letters.

I've finished reading this book. It's Stephenie Meyer's new book which was meant to be released on the 6th May but I bought it on the 1st of May. Strange...

I still have two spots for the Pay it Forward for anyone interested. See this this post for details.

And I will leave you with this...

fd's Flickr toys

I am pretty obsessed with flickr. I have an account there and I love browsing through peoples photos. It's very relaxing and I find a lot of really pretty things. Anyway in my browsing endeavours I noticed people were making a lot of mosaics with photos either of theirs or others. I found the website fd's Flicker Toys and it is so much fun. I mucked around with it and made two things in between writing a uni assignment. So here they are ->

This is the Andy Warhol style mosaic of one of my photos. It's pretty awesome. And this one is just a small mosaic of things I was taking photos of. Some pretty things I think. And I made that mask by the way =)

And I have musical rehearsal tonight. It should be a full run through which will be exciting. I will try and take some photos of it. Plus I can't wait until I have finished my debate and handed my assignment in. It will be great!
