Rained out getaway

Hello my lovely people. Thank you so much for all the comments front the previous post. Our little holiday was rained out but since our hotel was awesome, it still turned out to be great. We spent most of the time, watching movies and TV shows (we watched season 2 of The Walking Dead - romantic) and reading.

We did manage to go outside into the outdoor spa (and the sauna, which I'm not a fan of) and we went for a drive to visit a shop I wanted to see but there was a chance we might have been caught in some flood waters. So it was probably good that the store was closed.

The bedroom. It is such a gorgeous hotel.

The bathroom. You can see into the bedroom but there was a shade you can pull down.

The lounge, dining and kitchen. We said we could imagine living here. The hotel is only a year old so everything is still so clean and fresh.

So this was our view for most of the trip. Very gloomy. We didn't end up going to the beach which is a shame. Although Australia Day (26th Jan) was probably the best day weather wise.

We took a quick photo on the balcony when we realised we hadn't taken any photos of us the whole time.

Australia Day. We went to Shingle Inn for breakfast. It was the first day that it was quite dry even though it was still overcast.

This was the store I wanted to visit.

The display window. I figured I may as well take photos even though it was closed. Like I mentioned this area was starting to flood so it was probably a good thing that the store wasn't open. By the time we went back to our car. It was pouring down and most of the road was a giant puddle.

It still turned out to be a fun getaway. Sometimes you just need a change of scenery. On our actual Anniversary we didn't do much. We ordered in (soo much more expensive that eating out) and watched a movie.

It's still raining and I've had enough of it. This time last year we were just recovering from a flood and now it's gloomy again. I miss the sunshine. It helps lift my mood.

Anyway, hope you are having a good weekend.

Happy Two Year Anniversary

Happy Two year Wedding Anniversary!!

Today two years ago I married the most wonderful man. I can't wait to see what the rest of the future holds for us :)

We are going off to the Gold Coast to stay at Peppers for a few days. Even though the weather is horrendous (rain, rain rain and supposed to storm) I'm sure we will have a great time.

One Year Anni

For our one year wedding anniversary we stayed at the Marriot hotel in the city. The night before our one year. We had a lovely dinner that night.

Our room. I don't know what that white circle on my jeans is. Camera fail.

We had room service bring us dessert. My yummy pavlova.

The next day. This is the view from our room. You can see the Brisbane river which flooded. It's a horrible colour at the moment.

On the day of our anniversary we went to the Sunshine Coast to go to Underwater World, an aquarium.

A type of shark which may have existed.

Jason playing around (not sure why his eyes look like that)

I was completely fascinated by these baby sharks. They live on that sac. I guess it works like an umbilical cord. They have various baby sharks in different stages of development and it was so interesting to see.

Pretty, pretty sea horses.

This was in the Oceanarium tunnel. It's another world under here.

It was so weird to have these guys swimming over the top of your head.

One of the beautiful seals, in their viewing room.

This is a frozen Hammer head shark. It's the largest frozen one in the world. This guy is huge and creepy to look at up close. It's a bad photo but I had to show this fella.

Bubble head. There was this section where you crawl under and put your head in this bubble. It was crazy to see the fish swimming around you.

Afterwards we went down to one of the beaches to have a walk. It was such a gorgeous day.

We had a fantastic day and I'm glad we were able to spend it doing something educational but still fun. We also watched a seal show and I was thinking of getting a photo of a seal kissing my cheek.

It's my birthday next Tuesday (1st), which I will probably spend alone during the day :( but this weekend I would love to go to Thunderbird Park and mine thundereggs :) This year I want to explore my city and state more.

Anyway, have a wonderful and beautiful weekend!

Happy 6 months (for tomorrow)

It is our 6 month wedding anniversary tomorrow :) To celebrate we are watching a rugby union game, Australia vs. South Africa. At the time of getting the tickets it didn't even occur to me the day it falls on. But that's alright tonight we are watching Inception (as it's the thing to do) and having dinner.

Anyway, I mentioned that I would share some wedding photos with you because there are quite a few of my bloggy friends who haven't seen them (saw my blog after wedding). So there might be a few repeats.

These photos were taken by Sharon Pappas. She was awesome! Absolutely loved her. So down to earth and lovely.

My fave photo of Jason

You could not guess my parents age (I can't say because mum would kill me)

My nephews in their Filipino Barongs.

We have a canvas print of this photo and we used this for our thank you cards.

Close up of our centre piece.

We had a very simple centre piece set up.

These next two were taken by me. lol

I took these so they would know how to do decorate at the venue. These photos are for Jasmine. She's gathering inspiration for her wedding. As you can see we had photos of us holding the table number.

I spent a whole night putting those butterflies on the lanterns.

Anyway, if there are any other photos that you want to see or even other wedding related questions, feel free to ask me here or email me and I will try and incorporate them into a blog post (or an email depending on what you want to know).

I'm so happy that I'm married and truly blessed to have Jason!! Have a beautiful weekend everyone!!
