Big work week finished

I have finished that huge work week. 8 days in a row. Ugh! I only had one day off and then had to work yesterday and meant to work tonight but I'm not feeling too well. I think it's from over tiredness.

Anyway, I have tried to create and catch up on letters and other things. I tried to create a letter set as I love to write letters and always wanted to try and make my own stationary.

It's really quite basic. I bought some great brown kraft paper and some parchment paper bought a damask stamp and just tried to figure out where to stamp the image. I have ideas on personalising it and making full sets with stickers. It's something I'm thinking of adding to my future Etsy shop. What do you think? As this is just a trial run so my stamping skills are the best right now. (To see images better click on the picture).

And since I was playing around with photo shop I thought I would make an 'aged' photo with a letter writing quote which I thought was appropriate. Yes my photo shop skills aren't great either as I know it doesn't really looked that 'old.'

This is a little thing I made in photo shop when I was going through a 'I want to design' day. I've loved this Audrey Hepburn quote for ages now and I like to use it all the time.

I watched this movie twice!! It had only come out in Australia on June 6 but I had to work from 10-9:15 pm so I watched it the next night. I loved it! I've been a Narnia fan for years! I have a goal to purchase all the books in different languages and to try and get different sets of it.

Here are just some of the versions I would like to own. Books and the stories on cd, original illustration covers by Pauline Baynes, and a leather-bound version as well. There are heaps of bits and pieces I would love to get.

I also bought this book last week at work. It's a Narnia pop-up book. The pop-ups are amazing!! I think it's worth it if your a fan.
Here is a sample of one of the pages. I took this image from Amazon. It's beautiful!

There are a few other things inspiring my right now but I will leave it for the next post. Narnia inspires me to think of beautiful leather bound books, journals, ink and quills, letter writing and the more. Not sure why maybe because of the feel of the movies and books.

Until next time take care xox

Journals and more

I love journals. Just as much as I love paper, stationary and letters. So I thought I would dedicate this post to a bit of journal love and some lovely pictures =)

I want to show a range of photos I took. I was mucking around with the camera so their not fantastic or anything. I just thought I would show my take on journals.

I tried showing one of my favourite journals from an angle but not enough so that the writing can be read.

This is the cover of the journal. It's gorgeous! It has blank pages as well which is what I prefer.

This is my new current journal. I don't really have little bits and pieces scatttered. Or the pic of Jason. It's all for the sake of this photo =p

Oh I was having fun setting things up. Attempting to have an action shot but I couldn't write and take the photo at the same time. I will learn lighting and how to photoshop photos properly to make them look better.

Anyway, here is a little thing I made in photo shop. I think it will be one of my next projects.

*Images taken from Kikki.K and Cristina Re.

I love her paper and I love Kikki.K stationary. I thought why not combine the two with my love of journals. Hopefully this will happen sometime next week on my week of uni! Until next time xox

Letter Love

I love receiving letters. I have around 10 penpals maybe more in time. So I thought I would share a few pictures of my letters and things.

This is all the mail I have received this year. I covered one of the letters in butterflies as I don't really want my address in full view =)

Just a little artistic shot of my letters in their box.

A lovely letter from one of my penpals. I'm just showing a few of the ones that added a few things to their letters.

This one made me a little bracelet pictured on the top of the letters. Very sweet.
And this one always write long letters and such. This is just a sampling of my lovely letters. As you can see I love to receive mail and like to write letters. Which goes hand in hand with my obsession with stationary and paper.

I got these from my mum and dad when they went up to Montville for my mum's birthday last month. I love these little vintage advertisements. And the pictures are just so cute.

Also I wanted to make a little post about the store Kikki.K. It is a Swedish design stationary and office products store here in Australia. I love it! The website has many things to look at. And I made a little collage of some of the items available.

Busy and Paper

The semester has suddenly caught up to me and I see how much work is involved for this last semester. Today I start work experience/work placement. I'm doing it at uni at the Athletics track. They have Friday night meets and Saturday too. But I haven't got my full timetable yet which I really need so I can work things around it. I'm just a tad bit nervous starting eep!

I can't wait until it's all finished and I can really focus on the things that I want to. But for now it's uni and getting it all done.

Anyway not to be totally boring I thought I would share some paper I got last weekend. Since Jason doesn't have work on Saturdays anymore we went to Chermside shopping centre. I love that place. I'm just going to put photos in between my posting to make it more interesting =)

I love this paper I got. It has nice texture to it. And I got the A little Princess book. It like $6 or something.I should say Jason bought the paper and the book for me =p

Anyway, it was really busy for some reason. There were lots of promotions going on. And Megan Gale (the model and face of David Jones) was going to be there as DJ's had just opened in Chermside. It was soo busy in the store. Jason and I checked it out. They quite a few free things. We got to drink some beautiful tea. It was really good! And we had some really lush chocolate that cost about $80 a kilo!!! The paper and stationary range looked so pretty and I wanted to take photos but I don't think we are meant to in stores which is a real shame.

Showing the flocked paper. The texture is lovely and I love Cristina Re stuff.

Wanted to show the close up of the stitching of this paper. I love all the texture of the paper I got last weekend.

This one is pretty too. And it shimmers a little. Though the light doesn't show that.

I forgot to say that yesterday on the way to uni, my bus had an accident. I so knew that would happen as I was on the side that hit another bus. We were at a busway and the driver must have miscalulated and we hit the other bus in the back. The bus I was on wasn't too bad. It did have some big dents and bits had come off but the other bus was pretty bad. A whole chunk of the back came off and it was leaking something. Petrol maybe? Thats why they were trying to cover the liquid on the road. So yeh real exciting.

This has a bit of colour. And it shimmers a bit as well. Plus all the paper is pink.

Anyway, I need to update my list and I need to make a schedule of some sort to try and remember everything. As I'm feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment. And thanks everyone for all the encouraging comments. It means so much to me! mwa xox
