Postcard Scavenger Hunt Swap

Hello lovely people. I hope you have had a good week. Lately I've been thinking about mail and letters and I want to do another swap on my blog. It makes me miss my little mail group which I've stopped because it was too difficult to do by myself. So I thought I could do some occasional swaps on my blog instead.

I thought I would host a Postcard Scavenger Hunt Swap. How it works:

♥ I will assign you one swap partner for the duration of the swap. There will be four prompts and each week you will need to send out one postcard to your swap partner for four consecutive weeks. I will give you at least two weeks to find your postcards and then the swapping begins.

Swap timeline:

Sign up closes on the 31st May 2013 Closed
♥ Partners assigned by the 3rd June
♥ First Postcard to be sent 21st June
♥ Second Postcard to be sent 28th June
♥ Third Postcard to be sent 5 July
♥ Fourth Postcard to be sent 12 July

Prompts:
♥ Black and white
♥ Arty/illustration
♥ Colourful
♥ Beauty

These prompts are fairly general so you can send whatever you think fits the topic. This is a pretty low risk swap and really doesn't cost much to send a postcard (interstate or overseas) but I ask to please not sign up unless you are ready to commit to sending four postcards. Plus if you do sign up please send postcards that you will like to receive yourself and to put some thought into it.

To join:
♥ Email me gracienne.nancy{at}gmail{dot}com with the following:
1. Your full and address
2. Whether you are willing to send overseas (depending on who signs up you may need to send overseas so please keep that in mind if you really don't want to send overseas)
3. List 5 likes (to help your swap partner)
4. Your blog/Twitter/Instagram/Other social media site

So this is supposed to be fun but I need to set guidelines because I want everyone who joins to receive their four postcards. Please only join if you have a blog or Instagram or Twitter or some type of Social media site that you can be checked so you don't just disappear on me. I'm sorry if this sounds so strict but mail is meant to be fun and enjoyable and I know it can be disappointing when you don't receive anything.

I hope do more of these light swaps so be on the lookout and sign up :)

Mail Love

Hello everyone. I have some mail which I need to share. Some is a little older than others and it's not necessarily in order either. Oh how I love mail.

Incoming...

A beautiful handmade card from Alyssa

A giveaway win via Expression of your emotions :)

This is another giveaway win via Muchloveilly. We love Colours leggings and knee highs.

I won this mini notebook from Little Tiara via Krissyfied. She added some bookmarks too.

This is from a penpal Nicole with a birth announcement :)

Hehe a UK Marie Claire mag (and postcard) from Claire. It was a favour because it has my girl on the cover.

This was an older letter to Micaela. With a print as thank you for the mag she sent.

I just wanted to show the envelope for Micaela's letter.

Postale Society

I have become a member of the Postale Society. It's a subscription membership and I can't wait to start receiving my post cards that will follow a story. Go to the Postale Society website to find out more about it.

I got my subscription when I was at Two Golden Hours. They will also be at the Finders Keepers markets this weekend.

This is my little postcard packet of little inspirations giving me more clues about the story I am following.

All the little bits inside.

It really makes me curious to how the story unfolds.

You are encouraged to make an inspiration board of some sort with the items. I had to tape it onto a frame. I thought I had a pretty cork board but obviously I didn't.

I'm the biggest advocate for mail and correspondence. There's The Happy Mail Project and I have the Postal Reverie in the works too. Still not 100% sure what I'm doing with that yet but I have some ideas.

So enjoy mail and keep handwritten letters alive.

P.s. Jasmine has a done of look book with me over at her blog. Check it out :)

The Happy Mail Project

Hey lovelies. Well I have finally planned out the snail mail group. I decided to go with The Happy Mail Project. I might make a Flickr group, so we can see all the lovely mail goodness.

So basically with this mail group, there will be some type of mail swap, hopefully once a month. Most of them will be quite easy like post cards or lists. And you don't have to join every swap. Just the ones that take your fancy.

What will happen is each month there will be a swap and if you are part of the group you can sign up for it. I will then partner everyone up. I'm going to mix you all around in the group so you can swap with different people, but that doesn't mean you won't swap with the same person a few times.

I promise this will be fun :) I will probably sent out little letters to each person occasionally and I have a few special things planned for the group (like hand made bracelets or special post cards etc).

If you want to join just email me gracienne.nancy{at}gmail.com. I would prefer if you had a blog, but if you don't still email me and we can work something out :) And those who have already expressed interest from the last swap I will be emailing you soon.

I have also created a button for you to take and I'm making a page for the group as well (I want to make a tab but at the moment it's just a link on the left hand side of the blog).

I hope you enjoy and remember to email me with any questions or suggestions.

Travelling mail/journal kit

I have this large pencil case that I've turned into a kind of mini travelling journal/mail kit. It's small and I can fit a few of my supplies with the intention of writing on the go.

This is the pencil case from Typo

At the moment it's filled with post cards.

These are some of the note books I'm currently using. A black soft cover Moleskine and two from Typo.

I'm wanting to add letter writing paper, assorted pens, stickers and other little bits to stick in my journal or letters.  And I'm thinking about having a little stationery giveaway on here soon. With a few of my favourite bits and pieces.

Plus I have a special thing that I'm planning for the snail mail group, which I will have to blog about soon!

Does anyone else have a little writing kit or journal they take with them?
