Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival

I got my haircut! Yeh! It was desperately needing one. I went shorter than I first initially wanted but when I was sitting in the hairdresser I decided to go for it =)

Sorry about the photo I used a flash so its a bit overexposed. But I needed to get a picture of my hair while it was nice and styled before I wash it and it goes funny.

On Wednesday I had the pleasure of going to the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival. I went with my 3 close girl friends and we had such a great time!

We went off to the Queens PLaza High Tea and fashion showing. This was all held at the Hilton. Beautiful place.

Me, Kristina, Natalia, Laura. This is at the end of High Tea with a fashion showing. Bright colours, metallics, big jewellery, short hemlines, looks like a fun summer to me!!

Some of the lovely sweet food served. And the bag on top is a cake and was a prize.

A close up of some of fave food items. I loved the heart shaped on the bottom left. It was called the Chanel white chocolate and raspberry (something?). It's a shame I don't really remember the names of each food. They did have an Audrey Hepburn cucumber square. That was good. With the cream cheese and cucumber on top. It was all very lovely.

We were all drooling over this gorgeous black sapphire Canturi ring. The lovely Laura fashioned it nicely for us.

We had a little bit of time between the high tea and the nights fashion show. So we did a bit of shopping (my feet were killing me though!) and I took a sneaky photo of them looking at things. This was in Alannah Hill. She has a gorgeous website. And I do like her stuff but it's really hard to wear it all at once as it's very girly and you look too over the top with it all on. But a pretty top worn with something more basic would be alright. Unless you can pull off the look.

Still in Alannah Hill. Laura does some fantastic photography and she always gets us to pose.

We went and had dinner at JoJo's which I usually love though I wasn't too happy with my steak. Moh. But anyway, we had the Hardy Brothers Evening wear show at night. That too was a lovely show though shorter than we expected. This is us waiting to be let in as it was general admission we wanted to be at the top of the line.

All in all it was a fantastic day and we plan on having more outings with us girls. Which we talked about after the show.

This is the little gift bag we received at the High tea. Mainly a few magazines and little bits and pieces. It was nice to get something.

This is the one we got from the Hardy Brothers show. Again it was mainly magazines and things. It's all so messy on my bed.

And the last thing I want to show it some creations of mine. I made these for my three girls and tried to personalise it as much as possible to what they would like.

This one was for Kristina. The photos aren't the greatest as I was in a hurry to leave.

This was for Laura. The necklace is a delicate butterfly style charm.

For Natalia. She's more into green. And I love the green paper here.

I will leave my post here. I have a few other things I want to show but I will do that next time. xox

Bits and Pieces

I got my hair done today. It was for a hairdresser friend of mine. She needed someone to test a new hair colour range and I said I would do it. And the best part was that it was free! Although, I wish I paid for a haircut as well as I need one desperately. As it was free there wasn't heaps of colour put in but it was enough.

Ok this is the front view. I can't help but smile in pictures. I look funny when I don't. There are two colours. This copper tone and a reddish colour. Both really nice. The foils were done under my hair which was different for me.

A side photo view of my hair. It's in need for a cut though so I will have to do that soonish. If you want to see the colour better just click on the picture. It should have a close up. I haven't coloured my hair in soo long. I reckon about 5 years!

List wise I haven't made a huge amount of progress. I have read another 2 books (#29), made a kind of plushie (#24, bought a journal (#31). I'm in progress as well with other things. In time I will do a list update on the sidebar. Here's a pic of the plushie. . It's for my brother. I got the bear pattern from this blog. It looks nothing like it's supposed to though =)

Also I finished the Harry Potter book. Well I finished last week sometime. I loved it! But of course I won't say anything about it here =) as I know people don't want to find out things by accident through a blog.

Here is the journal I bought today. It's a Pink Ribbon one. It's really sweet. It has blank pages which is what I prefer. Plus part of the sale goes toward the Breast Cancer research.

This is the just a picture of the pages. I love it that it's blank. And pretty pink paper too. Added bonus!

And here are a few things I have made. It's some jewellery. These are chandelier style earrings. I love Swarovski crystals. They shimmer so prettily in the light.

These ones I used with bits and pieces in my little jewellery stash. I don't really wear dangly earrings but I like to make them.

This is another one of my charm necklaces. I love charms and I do want more but cash strapped right now. I want all different kinds. And If you look closely you can see my reflection in the heart lol.

And a close up. Plus you can really see my reflection in this one. Eeep! This always happens with shiny things =)

Some things I made

I have only one more exam and to hand in one more assignment and I am finished for the semester. I will have about 6 weeks off! Yay! I'm quite excited as I have many things I need to do and finish up. While I was doing my major paper I took breaks and watched Stars Wars =) while making a few things.

I call this my cute woodland creatures mini notecard set.

This is just a different view. I enjoy making these while watching movies. It takes longer that it looks though.

I love those long necklaces with charms on the bottom of them. I think they're lovely. So I enjoy making them as well and finding lots of different charms. Though I seem to have trouble with it sometimes.

A close up of the charms. I love turquoise as well.

I really like these earrings. I don't really wear dangly ones but I will on occasion. And I like taking photos using my little teacup and saucer.

I thought I would experiment with those invisible line things. I like pearls and pearly surfaces.

This is my sweet tiny butterfly mini notecard collection. I love making little notecards with matching envelopes.

A closer look at the envelopes. The little butterfly matches the background paper of the notecards. And the paper of the envelope matches the little butterflies on the notecards.

This gives a closer look at one of the notecards. The wings are meant to come off the page as I wanted to look as though they're flying =)

And that's it. Since I should be going on holidays soon I'm sure to be making more. While watching movies.

Some creations

I have some more bad news. Pickles the dog died yesterday. He was my oldest brother and sister in law's dog but he lived with my sister in law Liz's mum. He got hit by a car yesterday. It's really sad. He was only a little dog and getting old but still...this wasnt the way anyone wanted him to go. My poor little nephew Isaiah saw it happen as well and he is shock. And it makes it worse as it's Isaiah's 6th birthday today. Poor little fella. He was buried by my brother yesterday afternoon.

Anyway, I'm not going to dwell on bad news. I have some mini collage style pictures of what I have been doing. I finished that handbound book I made a post about. Here it is.
I quite like it. I added that ribbon on the spine to cover the stitching. It makes it look prettier I guess =). This collage is pictures of what I am giving my friend Kristina for her birthday tonight. I made the two necklaces in the teacup. And I made the mini notecards and their envelopes. And I made the birthday card. I enjoy putting together presents. This is a picture of a present for another friend of mine from earlier on this year. It's actually a vase of some sort but looks like a giant wine glass.
