Looking forward to...

Hey loves I hope you are well. I'm happily enjoying my day off from work :)

There are a few things that are coming up that I'm looking forward to. Hanging out with family and friends and some events which will be fun.

This is the live album recording for my church. It is going to be awesome as it's a combined worship night with the other Citipointe Church campuses.

Jason and I are going to the Sunshine Coast on the long weekend. We'll be staying with my bro and sis in law. And Melly and I will be attending this event, Two Golden Hours

Of course Finders Keepers. I went to the ones last year and they were fantastic. I can't wait to see what this year will entail.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival is event I have been going with my girls for few years now. And it's coming around again. Should be fantastic. Plus I love getting to know my city more.

A few other things like a friend's 21st this weekend, combined work dinner with people from my area (I hardly ever do work things) and catching up with some of my girls Laura and Kristina, before Laura jets off to Europe for five weeks.

Anything exciting coming up for you lovelies? Have a great rest of week.

MBFF weekend

Hello lovelies! A quick update on the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival. It was lovely! It's always such a fun event. I didn't get that many photos as it was hard with lighting and people in the way.

One of the better photos I was able to take. I loved the flow of the dress.

I liked the colour and style of this dress.

On the Saturday between the two shows we went off to the Rosemount Wine Bar at QPAC. And the best thing they had was a photo booth. It was free too! We got one photo but could download the photo from the website.

You can click on the photo to see it larger (I hope). I'm the smallest of everyone again. We had two lots of photos because there were a few of us. Plus they were going around a giving us a sample of the Rosemount O wine. Soo good and it served with ice :) I was ready to buy a bottle I liked it so much.

After the second show we all went off to have dessert at Southbank. It was delicious and fun. I love having these girly outings.

On Sunday, Kristina and I went in a little early as we went to church first. We had breakfast and I had the cutest hot chocolate. It was cute the way it was served.

Crushed up chocolate and a tiny milk bottle. The milk was pre heated too.

I didn't get any photos from the Sunday besides that photo above, as my camera battery died. I thought I had recharged it the night before but I obviously didn't.
And it was the Swimsuit show which is one of my favourites. It's always so colourful and happy and makes me long for summer.

So this was meant to be our week of organisation which hasn't really happened but more about that next time. I have so much to do. You still have time to join the swap but it closes next Wednesday 18th.

I'm also involved with the Dear Darlings Penpal project over at Oh, My Darling. I have my group of penpals for me to write to so I will have to start that very soon :)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I have so much to catch up on so I should get a move on.

Some outfits

Hey lovelies! Thanks for you comments in the last post. I have a fair bit to catch up on as I was busy the last few days. If I owe you emails or anything they will be coming.

I will post about the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival soon. Yesterday was also a big day hanging out with my fam. My cousin and her husband are here for a few days from the US.

So far, on this week of organisation we have done nothing. Great start... and it's a gloomy day today so all I feel like doing is watching movies. But then we have had a few busy days so need this day to refresh and get back on track.

These are just my outfits from the weekend. Be aware that I really can't pose so they are a bit stiff.

I added a belt to break up the dress. Oh and I got my hair cut. Well trimmed, layered and a side fringe. The hair dresser curled it for me.

I wore this short sleeved cardigan. Which wasn't enough because it was night time and got a bit cold. I did wear stockings though (shiny legs).

My Sunday outfit. I didn't actually wear those heels but I thought it would be nice for the photo :)

For some reason I just wore flats instead. One of my friends and I were there early and I couldn't be bothered to walk around with my heels in another bag. Plus I was wearing black opaque tights but it got hot and I had subtly take them off (in public! I sat down and no one was the wiser).

I will do a better blog about the Fashion Festival next post. Oh and to answer a few questions from the comments. I work at Myer, a department store here. And I buy a lot of my clothes from there including the nude heels and the stripy skirt.

So have a lovely week and I will need to do heaps of catching up...emails, swap (come joing in you haven't already) making things, organising!

MBFF 2009 Part 2

Hey lovelies! This is the second part of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival. On Monday night, Laura, Kristina and I went to one of the ready to wear group shows.

Beforehand, Laura and I met up to have a light dinner. Then Kristina came and we all went to City Hall together from there.

Laura and I outside before we went in. It was another beautiful night weather wise.

When we got there they were giving out Napoleon Perdis samples and they had a little set up to get your lips done. I was taking some random photos of Laura with her fancy camera.

And I got this one. I'm quite proud of this =) The light is really pretty in the background.

Laura took this one. I didn't have the guts to have any colour besides a neutral shade. One day I might try a colour.

This is Kristina and me before the show. City Hall is a beautiful old building that was shut for awhile for renovations. They have this lovely marble staircase in the main foyer. I had my year 12 formal at City Hall.

It was a lot harder to take photos at this show. So I let Laura do it =) I loved this dress and the back is so pretty.

The most embarrassing thing that happened was one of the models dresses fell off her shoulder right when she went to the end of the runway so all the photographers had a good shot of her boob. She handled it pretty well but then it fell down again when she was facing us going back up the runway. I know models have to deal with situations like that but still it would suck.

They gave everything these little gift bags from Napolean, which were quite cute.

I would really like to try out Napoleon sometime. I see it at the shopping centre when I work and I've always felt compelled to try it out.

MBFF 2009 Part 1

On Sunday and Monday night I went to two Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival shows. Sunday lunch time it was the swimwear show and last night it was a ready to wear group show. I went with two of my beautiful girls Laura and Kristina. I tried to take photos at the swimwear show but it was hard and I didn't use my zoom until later on. Plus it was a super hot day for winter. I regret that I was wearing jeans and not a dress like half the other girls that were there.

My absolute favourite swimsuit of the day! Laura and Kristina loved it too! Sorry my pictures are nowhere near as good as Laura's ones.

I just liked this. It looks exotic and makes me think of travelling and beaches in faraway places. Plus the colour is pretty.

I'm not a one-piece person but I don't mind this style. I wouldn't wear it but if I was to ever buy one. It would probably look something like this.

This was at the end of the show. When you see models it's hard not to want to exercise and feel as though my legs are short stumps (I guess in comparison they sort of are sigh). But it was a beautiful day as hot as it was.

I had to add this one so the bikini could be seen up close. We just loved it! I'm seriously thinking of buying it if I can ever visit one of the stores it's stocked in. Honeymoon bikini perhaps? (It's a way to justify the expensive price it's sure to be).

Afterwards we went to Kristina's place to hang for the rest of the day. She is such a great hostess. She made these brownies here.

And she made these mini cupcakes, and the two different type of cookies. YUM! It was so good. Catching up, eating yummy food and just hanging with the girls is a fantastic way to end the day. We haven't done that in so long.

Ok these next few photos are a bit of a montage. We took a few photos and they always ended up a bit funny.

I just adore these girls and I'm glad they will be with me on my wedding day. Our next plan is to watch the Coco Chanel movie and go shopping in a different side of Brisbane. We also planned a girls trip for overseas sometime. I've wanted to do that for awhile now.

I will have part two up soonish. It was about the show we watched last night =)

I received this Wedding Guide this morning! I mentioned in one of my past posts that we met a lady randomly in a cafe and she worked for a Wedding Guide and she said she would send me a free copy. And it came this morning. Whee! It's a nice surprise.

I thought I would put some of our engagement invites in the photo too. We kept it simple and used one of the photos from our engagement session. I sent out some of them a few days ago.

So at the moment it's our next priority to organise the engagement party. We already have a venue. It's casual but it's a nice place. My sis in law had her 30th there last year.

Today I'm spending time figuring out decos for our engagement party and because I'd like to make them and do it myself I checked out Martha Stewart Weddings for some paper decoration ideas. I'd love to hang some of these at the venue.

I love this idea especially because I'm such a butterfly freak. I might have to use this idea either at engagement or wedding.

Also we thought to have some type of engagement cake as dessert and I'd really like a Filipino chiffon cake. I don't eat that much filo food (especially cause I'm Aussie born) but I love Filipino desserts.

This was a cake for my mum's birthday last year. Funny it's her birthday next week actually! But it's soo good. So soft and light and the icing isn't too sweet.

Anyway, I'm going to the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival this week with my girls! Going to be amazing! This is our third year going.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival

I got my haircut! Yeh! It was desperately needing one. I went shorter than I first initially wanted but when I was sitting in the hairdresser I decided to go for it =)

Sorry about the photo I used a flash so its a bit overexposed. But I needed to get a picture of my hair while it was nice and styled before I wash it and it goes funny.

On Wednesday I had the pleasure of going to the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival. I went with my 3 close girl friends and we had such a great time!

We went off to the Queens PLaza High Tea and fashion showing. This was all held at the Hilton. Beautiful place.

Me, Kristina, Natalia, Laura. This is at the end of High Tea with a fashion showing. Bright colours, metallics, big jewellery, short hemlines, looks like a fun summer to me!!

Some of the lovely sweet food served. And the bag on top is a cake and was a prize.

A close up of some of fave food items. I loved the heart shaped on the bottom left. It was called the Chanel white chocolate and raspberry (something?). It's a shame I don't really remember the names of each food. They did have an Audrey Hepburn cucumber square. That was good. With the cream cheese and cucumber on top. It was all very lovely.

We were all drooling over this gorgeous black sapphire Canturi ring. The lovely Laura fashioned it nicely for us.

We had a little bit of time between the high tea and the nights fashion show. So we did a bit of shopping (my feet were killing me though!) and I took a sneaky photo of them looking at things. This was in Alannah Hill. She has a gorgeous website. And I do like her stuff but it's really hard to wear it all at once as it's very girly and you look too over the top with it all on. But a pretty top worn with something more basic would be alright. Unless you can pull off the look.

Still in Alannah Hill. Laura does some fantastic photography and she always gets us to pose.

We went and had dinner at JoJo's which I usually love though I wasn't too happy with my steak. Moh. But anyway, we had the Hardy Brothers Evening wear show at night. That too was a lovely show though shorter than we expected. This is us waiting to be let in as it was general admission we wanted to be at the top of the line.

All in all it was a fantastic day and we plan on having more outings with us girls. Which we talked about after the show.

This is the little gift bag we received at the High tea. Mainly a few magazines and little bits and pieces. It was nice to get something.

This is the one we got from the Hardy Brothers show. Again it was mainly magazines and things. It's all so messy on my bed.

And the last thing I want to show it some creations of mine. I made these for my three girls and tried to personalise it as much as possible to what they would like.

This one was for Kristina. The photos aren't the greatest as I was in a hurry to leave.

This was for Laura. The necklace is a delicate butterfly style charm.

For Natalia. She's more into green. And I love the green paper here.

I will leave my post here. I have a few other things I want to show but I will do that next time. xox
