Engagement Party tomorrow!

Image via Snippet & Ink

I've always thought this looked amazing.

Eeepp! It's our engagement party tomorrow night and it feels like it has come so fast. I've been working a fair bit the past few days and so tired. I was setting up Christmas (decos and such) and it's tiring work.

Anyway, this isn't much of a post as I have lots of things to do. Thought I would share part of my decorations for the engagement.

Here you can see me taking the photo. That dvd is full of engagement photos that Laura took and she made the dvd cover.

As you can see I have a thing for pretty things and the colour pink. I have more of these decorations I just wanted to show a sampling.

There's also going to be some photos courtesy of Laura printed out and I've cut out a few paper butterflies that I might decide to use. And I'm also thinking of putting fairy lights around.

It's all very exciting and I'm busy today. This morning Jason (he got a day off work) are going to watch the Dawn Treader filming, then picking up his step brother and his gf, then go off to see a townhouse we are interested in and tonight meeting up with Laura and Josh to talk engagement at this place called The Belgian Bar.

Sorry this is a dull post. Next week I will have one all about the Engagement party and other happenings. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I received this Wedding Guide this morning! I mentioned in one of my past posts that we met a lady randomly in a cafe and she worked for a Wedding Guide and she said she would send me a free copy. And it came this morning. Whee! It's a nice surprise.

I thought I would put some of our engagement invites in the photo too. We kept it simple and used one of the photos from our engagement session. I sent out some of them a few days ago.

So at the moment it's our next priority to organise the engagement party. We already have a venue. It's casual but it's a nice place. My sis in law had her 30th there last year.

Today I'm spending time figuring out decos for our engagement party and because I'd like to make them and do it myself I checked out Martha Stewart Weddings for some paper decoration ideas. I'd love to hang some of these at the venue.

I love this idea especially because I'm such a butterfly freak. I might have to use this idea either at engagement or wedding.

Also we thought to have some type of engagement cake as dessert and I'd really like a Filipino chiffon cake. I don't eat that much filo food (especially cause I'm Aussie born) but I love Filipino desserts.

This was a cake for my mum's birthday last year. Funny it's her birthday next week actually! But it's soo good. So soft and light and the icing isn't too sweet.

Anyway, I'm going to the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival this week with my girls! Going to be amazing! This is our third year going.

Preparing for engagement photos

I'm excited about getting our engagement photos done! My beautiful Laura is doing them for us. I must share some of her photography but first I want to share a few dress pictures.

I bought this dress for our actual engagement party which will be in September. It's really pretty in real life, a sort of gold tone. I bought it from Forever New. A favourite shop.

Now at our engagement shoot I will most likely be wearing a black dress, but I'm not sure which one to wear. For one it's the middle of winter here not that it gets that cold. Here are some photos. They're not that great due to lighting not sure how to take the photos.

I bought this dress awhile ago but still haven't worn it. I always seem to fall back on black dresses (hence why I bought a gold one for our engagement to break out for the black and white mold).

This was taken last year. I have trouble posing sometimes so I end looking a bit awkward. So this is the other black dress for my second choice.

One is little bit dressy whilst the other is bit more casual I guess. I'll figure it out tomorrow.

Anyway, I also just have to share some of lovely Laura's photos. I've taken these from her Facebook (sorry hun!).

Just two of the engagement photos she took for Elise and Dan, some friends of ours. There are more but I didn't want to take too many.

I just had to add this photo in. Laura took this at my 22nd birthday. I know I'm wearing fairy wings but it was part of the theme =)

So we have a busy weekend ahead of us. Dinner with friends tonight, engagement photos tomorrow with a picnic afterwards or before the photos. Hope you all have wonderful weekends!
