Maternity Session

Hello hello! I haven't posted in awhile and I wasn't sure if I would post again. But I had some really lovely maternity/pregnancy photos taken by one of my best friends Laura and I really wanted to share them. These were taken at 38 weeks and I have approximately only a week to go until my little is here :)

We went to a local park that had some great woodland style trees and I borrowed the dress. Laura also had the flower crowns made and our other friend Erin also came to help out. I wasn't going to have any photos done but I'm so glad I did to mark this special time in my life.

So there might be a baby post next time! Have a wonderful weekend.

Camera wishlist

I'm not a photographer at all but lately I've wanted to explore photography as another hobby. I have my digital camera which is good to keep in my handbag and my iPhone which is good for sneaky shots :) but I would really like to get a DSLR camera.

What are your recommendations for a DSLR camera? Used more for a hobby than anything else. I was thinking of some kind of Cannon??

Anyway, I do want to get these other cameras, again to play around with photography.

Can't decide which colour to get (although the black and turquoise one is out of stock on this site for the moment). Any ideas??

I do think this is quite adorable. And I definitely want to get one of these. Again I know there are other colours that can be purchased.

And this little thing looks amazing. The little videos it captures with that awesome vintage feel and the photos too.

So at the moment these are on my wish list. Any other recommendations are most welcome. I'm only really entering this other world of cameras (besides my digital).

Have a fantastic rest of week!!

Random photography and purchases

Today I thought I would share my random purchases and photography. I played around with iPhoto with some of the pictures.

These first few are from last weekend when we went up to the Sunshine Coast.

This is the view from my brother's place. The beach is only about 5 minutes away from where he lives. Walking distance definitely.

There were some people sky diving onto the beach. It was so fascinating to watch as they floated down.

Jase and me trying to take a photo. It was a lovely day.

As I mentioned last post we had some gelato after the beach. This is my brother Alvin and his fiancee Melly. Too bad you can't really see the beautiful sunset in the background.

I took this photo on my iPhone then used Poladroid. This was the inside of the gelato place. I took the photo from outside. The flavours were so yummy.

I bought this journal and stickers from Kikki.K . I haven't decided when I'm going to start using it. Maybe after the wedding to document the first year.

I love Hershey's Kisses. One of my playing around with camera and iPhoto pictures.

I bought those Twilight journals in a tin that have just come out.

They are quite nice the journals. I kind of hate how hyped up this series is. I loved it way before all the psycho fan girls (though I can't say that I'm not a bit of a fan girl myself :p)

I bought Vicki Archer's new book. I bought the last one at work. Yay!

This is my collection. I have both Vicki Archer's books and Carla Coulson's books too. She took the photos in all these books. These books are gorgeous!

Anyway, I should get back to. Lots of things to do today. Poor Jason is completely swamped at work. He's been working back late and going in early. I haven't seen him all week! Plus some friends of his convinced him to participate in a mini triathlon. So he's going to have to start training with them, which means swimming twice a week, going for runs and a bike ride. Plus Jase goes to the gym 3 times a week with 2 sessions with a personal trainer plus he has indoor soccer. Gah! I need to get back into exercise.

Have a wonderful weekend lovelies! And thanks for all the comments. You're all so fantastic.

Wishing I could take good photos....

I want to begin this post by saying how overwhelmed I am by the support and lovely comments about the whole 'breaking down' scene at work and all the other problems associated with it. I definitely feel a lot better. I've been praying a lot, resting and just using my energy on other things. Such as using Poladroid, making a new blog banner, posting photos on our wedding site (which needs more maintenance) and getting a Tumblr (let me know if you have one).

Plus wedding plans of course. I shouldn't forget them. Made a bridesmaid decision finally and I write about that soon. At the moment figuring out bouquets, invitations, bridesmaid accessories and basically everything now. 3 months, 18 days to go!

Right now I seem to be really into photography (well wishing I was good). I would like a fancy camera but I will be happy with borrowing Jason's brother's older camera. I wouldn't mind a lomography camera.

This is what I'm hoping to buy sometime, the Diana Mini. I'm completely fascinated by the way the photos turn out.

These are single use (preloaded) lomography cameras and I thought that would be an idea for the wedding. I would to have a few of these scattered around and get people to use them during the day. I think it would be really exciting to see what others 'see' on the day.

And here are a few of the poladroid pictures I made.....They're all pretty random photos.

A present from Jason last Christmas.

Laura and I when we out for dinner a few weeks ago.

My university graduation day in 2007.

A random photo when we were out and about.

From our engagement party. This was the cupcake tower of chocolate favours. With fairy lights of course =)

To end this post I'll share my links. To check out our Wedding site go here. For my Tumblr go here. And I will be updating this blog. Put more photos and update my links and other things.

Have a great rest of week lovely people!

Preparing for engagement photos

I'm excited about getting our engagement photos done! My beautiful Laura is doing them for us. I must share some of her photography but first I want to share a few dress pictures.

I bought this dress for our actual engagement party which will be in September. It's really pretty in real life, a sort of gold tone. I bought it from Forever New. A favourite shop.

Now at our engagement shoot I will most likely be wearing a black dress, but I'm not sure which one to wear. For one it's the middle of winter here not that it gets that cold. Here are some photos. They're not that great due to lighting not sure how to take the photos.

I bought this dress awhile ago but still haven't worn it. I always seem to fall back on black dresses (hence why I bought a gold one for our engagement to break out for the black and white mold).

This was taken last year. I have trouble posing sometimes so I end looking a bit awkward. So this is the other black dress for my second choice.

One is little bit dressy whilst the other is bit more casual I guess. I'll figure it out tomorrow.

Anyway, I also just have to share some of lovely Laura's photos. I've taken these from her Facebook (sorry hun!).

Just two of the engagement photos she took for Elise and Dan, some friends of ours. There are more but I didn't want to take too many.

I just had to add this photo in. Laura took this at my 22nd birthday. I know I'm wearing fairy wings but it was part of the theme =)

So we have a busy weekend ahead of us. Dinner with friends tonight, engagement photos tomorrow with a picnic afterwards or before the photos. Hope you all have wonderful weekends!

Just a bit of inspiration

I've been playing around on Polyvore for the past few days looking at sets and creating a few of my own. I've found so many inspirational collages and some of the images they use I like to find. I'm trying to make my blog more of a place where I can share more of my inspirations as well as creations and my life.

Here are some for your own viewing pleasure......

I had to add the Star Wars pic because I love the movies and I think that is such a lovely photo.

Here are the Polyvore sets that I made the past few days.

I'm off to try and finish my To Do list which is really lagging behind lately. I'm sure my next post may be about my good friend Laura's upcoming wedding.
