Mien Moir

Hello lovely people. I'm not at work because I took a flex day. One of the benefits of working in the government.

I wanted to share an Etsy shop that I love. It's called Mien Moir. My friend Steph has just recently opened it and I'm so glad she did. It's handmade clothes for the more petite. Steph and I worked together at Myer a few years ago and we used to discuss clothes and hard it could be to find clothes that fit smaller people. She went off to work for a dressmaker (she makes wedding dresses) and I always said she should open an Etsy and sell her own clothes.

This is part of her about me page.

These are some of my favourites. All designed and made by her.

I really want to buy something from her shop soon. You must check it out. She has other photos showing examples on how to style the items. She uses beautiful fabric and each piece is so unique. Check out her shop here, her about me page here, and the Facebook page here. I've also added a button for her shop on the left hand side of the page :)

Fashion via Instagram

1. Trying on Gold glitter flats
2. Purple tights to work day
3. Blush Peter Pan blouse
4. Casual Friday at work
5. Beanie weather

So I've had another mini blog break. I had a job interview at work for my own job and it's been a very stressful few weeks. We don't find out until mid June whether we get to keep our own jobs. But I'm praying and staying positive.

I'm feeling a little off because the last few nights I haven't had the greatest of sleeps. Jason and I have been dog sitting and it has not been fun. If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen my complaints.

I thought I would add a few Instagram photos that are fashion related. We are moving into winter here so the stockings, boots and cardi's are coming out.

Anyway, I need to catch up on so many things including....starting my fairytale journal with Jasmine, catching up on letters (I'm sorry if I owe you one), finally putting some items into my Etsy, organising my creative space and of course planning our America trip. I will need to do a post about that soon so I can get some recommendations from you guys :)

Hope you are all well.

It's an outfit post

Dress - Supre (one of the only things I own from there)
Tights - Equip
Boots - Target
Necklace - Gift
Cuff - Mombasa
Bracelet - Gift

I really love those boots. I've been wearing them everywhere lately. It's also starting to cool down but it's still not cold. Though I guess people in Brisbane can't really say it gets that cold (we are quite wimpy with cold weather).

I'm thinking of getting these shoes as my next allowed purchase. It's a great boot/wedge heel that I can use to dress my outfits up a little more without having to wear heels. For some reason I just can't wear heels well even though I'm so small. I figure these will get me through winter.

What's catching your shopping eye lately?

Little things...

Dress - Quirky circus
Boots - Target
Belt - Myer?
Necklace and bracelet - gifts

My legs do a look a little stumpy with this dress and boots. Ha!

A few things I'm loving lately...
♥ Mint and pale pink (or peach)
♥ Unexpected mail
♥ Game of Thrones (obsessed)
♥ Arrow accessories and items
♥ My Target boots
Bespoke zine (I ordered my first one yay)
♥ Polaroids
♥ Coloured popcorn
♥ Going to bookstores
♥ Online 'window' shopping
♥ Cute jumpers
♥ Glitter

I want to take note of the little things that I love. I think it helps keep me focused on the positives when you feel down. It's a good habit to form. What little things are you loving lately?

It's an outfit post.

Top - Ladakh
Pants - Forever New
Shoes - Forever New
Bangle - Mombasa

These pants are one of the comfiest things I own. I sometimes wear it to work on our casual Friday's. These are definitely coming with me to the USA.

Top - Bardot
Jeans - Asos
Shoes - Tony Bianco
Necklace - Equip (gift)
Cuff - Gift

I hardly ever wear heels but I needed to with these jeans because they make me look even shorter than I am. I'm quite loving the coloured jean trend and I thought pastel pink would be fun to wear this winter.

Also Jason and I went to Carindale shopping Centre to check out the new section that they built and just opened. It's amazing! It's cruel to go shopping when you are on a budget and saving up for a holiday so I didn't even look at both levels. I would get way to tempted.

It was also ridiculously busy and parking was a nightmare. Even with the hundreds of new parking spaces we still took ages to get one and it was still rooftop parking.

What's on your wish list lately?

Outfits :)

I found these outfits in my photo archive. The funny thing is they were all outfits I wore for birthday events.

I wore this on my actual birthday

Dress - Mombasa
Sandals - Sportsgirl
Bracelets - Mombasa

I wore on my birthday when we went out for dinner

Headband - Muchloveilly
Skirt - Mombasa
Shoes - Kmart (my $5 shoes!)

I wore this to my birthday celebration on the Sunshine Coast

Top - Valleygirl (I'm wearing the same top)
Shorts - Valleygirl
Sandals - Forevernew (old)

Bow - Muchloveilly

The back of my top. This is what attracted me to the top in the first place.

I feel that I sometimes wear clothes that are a little too young for me? I don't know. I need to look into my wardrobe a little more and see what I can change. Do I come across like that? Haa maybe I'm looking into this too much.

Have a great rest of week.

Just a Minute in...March

Happy Weekend friends. I'm so glad this week is over. Some weeks feel like they drag on forever so when I see the weekend in sight I get very excited.

♥ I love pretty collars

Just a Minute in....March

Reading... The Green Mile (I thought the movie was amazing). Assorted magazines

Watching... The Hunger Games movie!

Writing... Letters and putting together packages

Thinking... About the organising/decluttering challenge with Jasmine we want to organise

Jumping... Up and down with joy because it's The Hunger Games movie month

Planning... The itinerary for our USA trip

♥ Booked my ticket to a midnight session of The Hunger Games. With two friends (who still get student ticket prices. Sigh). This will be my first midnight movie session.

♥ I treated myself to these pink skinnies from Asos

So there are a few things I'm excited about this month. I can't believe the movie is nearly here! And there should be a few packages arriving this month too :)

I hope your weekend and March is fantastic. What are you looking forward too?

Girly date with Jasmine

Hey Lovelies. I had a great day yesterday. I had a girl's day with Jasmine. It was such a great day. We went vintage shopping at Paddington, watched a movie and went to the Lifeline Bookfest

Unfortunately, we didn't document the day with photos so I will just share some after photos of the items purchased.

We went to RaRa Superstar in Paddington because the store was having a 'garage sale.' It was a stinking hot day though and it was difficult to try clothes on. And I'm sad I didn't take photos of the complimentary homemade lemonade and mini cupcakes.

I bought these skirts. They are light and great for summer.

This dress is a little different from what I would usually buy but I liked it (and it's crinkled because it was at the bottom of the suitcase I was rummaging in)

This is supposed to be an apron but I'm going to turn it into a dress. It's adorable on!

We then went to watch The Journey 2. To be honest I really only wanted to watch it see Josh Hutcherson in action but it was still fun.

We saw the Hunger Games poster and had a fan girl moment.

We went to the Bookfest afterwards (this was the second trip for me). I bought more Babysitter club books and a few other books series that brought back memories.

A few kids books for my future children.

A few more books I thought would be interesting. And I did get influenced by the pretty covers.

I think these girly dates are good for a the soul because it was fabulous. I look forward to more of these dates.

I'm on holidays this week. I'm so excited! It's also our 2 year wedding anniversary this week :)

Gym Clothes

Hello lovelies. I hope you are having a fantastic weekend. I had my sister in law Melly's baby shower yesterday but I haven't got photos just yet. Hopefully soon.

Last week in my lunch break I went to my first gym session since joining. I really just wanted to spend about 20 minutes using one of the exercise bikes but I ended up having a kind of personal training session. It went longer than I thought and I had to rush back to work (and didn't have time for a shower either. Sigh). Right now my body still aches as it's been so long since I've done that much exercise and I worked a lot harder having a trainer.

Now that I'm a gym member I have been thinking about getting more active wear. So I bought a few things from Lorna Jane. It's expensive but I like the fit and style of their products. Plus they are a local brand and they last long.

I bought this crop in black. It gives a lot of support (not that I need a lot of it haa!) and it's comfortable.

What I love about these tights are the pockets. I can put my membership card there (instead of having to put it down all the time) and my phone would fit there nicely.

I do want to pick up a few singlets like this...

I love the back of this one.

And maybe a few of these in different colours.

In my mind I think I will want to go to the gym more when I have pretty things to wear. Plus I think it helps keep the motivation too. I'm also doing a boxing class on Friday night at the gym with a work mate so we will see how that goes :)

Do you like to work out in pretty active wear or do you just like to throw any old top and bottom on?

Have a wonderful week!

Pleated Skirt dilemma

Hey lovelies. I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was so busy. It was my oldest brother's wedding but I haven't really got any photos right now, so I will share some later. It was beautiful and emotional!

Anyway, I posted about some pleated skirts that I wanted to get. In the end I was going to get the blue one but I measured the length on me and I realised that it will be too long on me :( I feel I look shorter when I wear skirts that are below the knee (besides maxi ones).

So I found this skirt from Asos. It looks short on the model but I measured and it will be just above the knee on me. I'm just wanting your opinions on what colour to get???!

♥ Nude

♥ Blue

♥ Coral

There is also black but I'm trying to stay away from black with my casual clothes. So what colour do you prefer?

I hope to get a new skirt with my next pay :) Yay for colour and warmer weather on the way.
