Just a Minute in....June

Sweet little nephews Micah and Elijah.

Watching... Games of Thrones (sad that the season finale is on tomorrow), Full House (it brings back such memories)
Feeling... Quite inspired to create. I'm just not sure what I'm going to make yet
Planning... My holiday. For the next few months this will be a major part of my day
Praying... For the courage to follow my passions and to stop being so afraid
Wishing... For some time off work (I wouldn't mind a few days off for a mental health day)
Hoping... I hear about my job soon

So I haven't really heard any news about my job but I am keeping my faith in God that it will all work out and I will have a job after the end of this month.

Thanks again for any suggestions I've gotten about my USA holiday. I'm getting really excited about it. And I'm thinking about a few things I would like to get before we go.

I'm thinking about getting this bag as my travel bag. I know it can fit a DSLR camera because a friend of mine's sister has this bag and she fit hers in it. Plus it can be used as a satchel which is what I want for my travel bag. If you have any suggestions let me know.

Also I'm thinking of getting a pair of these shoes.
RMK

Which ones do you like better? I would also like some black flats and a pair of TOMS ballet flats. I'm sure we will do a lot of walking so I want pretty shoes that are still comfortable. If you have any suggestions let me know :)

I hope you are all having a great weekend.

Just a Minute in...April

Just a Minute in April....

Watching... Games of Thrones Season two (yay), Once Upon a Time
Doing... A 5000 question survey swap on Swap-Bot. It's ridiculous how long this will take. Don't ask why I signed up. Wanted a challenge?
Sending... Postcards for Postcrossing. I'm loving it again.
Wanting... Prettier stamps. We have some boring stamps sometimes. I wish they would create prettier ones.
Planning... Journal ideas I have
Organising... My creative space
Wishing.... Our trip was here (although time will fly by and we will be on the plane to the USA)
Thinking... That I should finally put together a wedding album.

Lately, I've been thinking about putting together more albums and journals about my life. I want to capture all those little moments and memories. But my creativity feels a little bit stunted with the disorganised chaos of my creative space. I also have my supplies and other things all over the place. I know that organising myself will help with that. Anyway....

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter! He is risen!

Just a Minute in...March

Happy Weekend friends. I'm so glad this week is over. Some weeks feel like they drag on forever so when I see the weekend in sight I get very excited.

♥ I love pretty collars

Just a Minute in....March

Reading... The Green Mile (I thought the movie was amazing). Assorted magazines

Watching... The Hunger Games movie!

Writing... Letters and putting together packages

Thinking... About the organising/decluttering challenge with Jasmine we want to organise

Jumping... Up and down with joy because it's The Hunger Games movie month

Planning... The itinerary for our USA trip

♥ Booked my ticket to a midnight session of The Hunger Games. With two friends (who still get student ticket prices. Sigh). This will be my first midnight movie session.

♥ I treated myself to these pink skinnies from Asos

So there are a few things I'm excited about this month. I can't believe the movie is nearly here! And there should be a few packages arriving this month too :)

I hope your weekend and March is fantastic. What are you looking forward too?

Just a Minute in...February

Just a Minute in....February

Watching... Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 3D (already watched this with Jasmine), Spartacus season 3, New Girl
Anticipating... The Hunger Games movie. I've only been waiting for this for 3 years
Planning... My belated birthday picnic
Trying... To organise my creative space
Being... Put on a strict budget
Booking... Our trip to the US!

Jason and I went to the Travel Expo yesterday (and today) to look more into our USA trip. Yesterday was good to find information and flight prices. We then spent hours working out an itinerary and putting in place a budget so we can go in August this year. I'm on a strict budget from now but it will be worth it when we go on our trip.

Today we went back to the Travel Expo to book our tickets. I can't believe we finally did it. So I'm sure there will be future posts asking for places to see, food to try, where to shop etc. I'm already planning on what to pack.

If any of you have suggestions now let me know in the comments. There will be a post detailing the rough itinerary sometime soon so any information would be great!

Have a wonderful rest of weekend and week.

Just a Minute in...January

*my beautiful gift from Laura

Just a Minute in.... January

Feeling... A little bit lifeless
Planning... Our USA trip
Hoping... I find my 'spark' again
Signing... Up for a one day letterpress class
Waiting... For my birthday in a few weeks
Listing... My goals and what I want to achieve
Looking... Forward to our week off (and celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary)
Praying... For many special people in my life

Even my Just a Minute posts are lacking a certain energy and that's how I've been feeling lately. I'm not sure why but I'm going through a real restless, flat and uninspired time. I don't feel inspired to do anything. Usually at this time of the year I would be happily planning my birthday but this year I haven't even picked the weekend for it (I still had one after my wedding even if it was a little late). I know you can't see it over the blog but I'm actually an extremely happy person so to feel this way is a little scary.

What do you do when you are going through a flat, lifeless patch? Any tips or ideas?

Have a wonderful rest of week. Hopefully next post I will be back to my chirpy self.

Just a Minute in...December

Just A Minute in...December

Watching... Once Upon a Time, New Girl, Camelot
Planning... Christmas day lunch - We are having it at our house. It's going to be a good 'ol Aussie BBQ
Creating... Christmasy things - Handmade Christmas crackers, paper poufs, paper chains, paper bunting
Wanting... It to be the Christmas break. Only 2 1/2 weeks to go (or there about)
Dreaming... About the USA holiday we are going on next year! (more about that in another post)
Girl crushing... On Zooey Deschanel. I know a lot of people love her but I love her even more seeing her in her new show New Girl. Her quirkiness and cute outfits.
Loving... The Advent Calendar. There  will be posts showing what we have received soon. I look forward to opening the gifts every other day.
Adoring... Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark.

So it's nearly Christmas. I'm so behind this year. Normally most of my gifts would be bought and I would be wrapping them, but I've barely started this year. I'm late sending out my Christmas cards and I'm still trying to figure out Christmas lunch. But that's ok, I'm not stressing I'm just doing things at my own pace.

Does anyone else feel behind on Christmas? Have you hosted Christmas lunch/dinner/day before?

Hope your week is going well!

Just a Minute in...November

*Oriental Lillies Jason surprised me with

Just a Minute in....November

Reading... Inheritance, Outside In, Scorpio Races and assorted magazines.
Creating... An Advent calendar (hopefully anyway)
Wishing... For a holiday
Getting... Excited about Christmas
Listing... My gift's for people, decorations to create, cards to write...
Wanting... To find some apothecary style bottles (they were everywhere at the Finders Keepers market as part of the stall decor)

via Houzz

This is some of the inspiration for my Advent calender. Jason and I are going to split the days and have 12 items each. So I get to open something every second day. It's going to be fun putting together these little gifts.

Do any of you have or make a Advent calendar.

Just a Minute in October...

Hello my lovely people. I hope you had a great weekend. So far my week is going alright. I just hope it gets better.

♥ A few new cards in the works (ignore the ink blot)

Being... excited about Christmas. I can't help it when this time of the year rolls around. Plus I'm a little sad I wasn't working at Myer when the decorations came out
Planning... My sister in law's baby shower. Hope it all goes well
Wondering... If I'm too sensitive? Maybe I will relate the story sometime
Trying... to figure out what health insurance I should go with
Looking... Into a gym membership. I need to exercise more
Thinking... About having a Christmas swap. Involving things like tags, ribbon and other packaging bits? Sound sort of interesting?

There is a lot more going on at the moment and as usual I suck at organising myself. And I'm a little out of sorts today because of a work thing from today (the me being sensitive bit). But I'm not going to dwell on that. Have a fantastic week!

Just a Minute in September...

*A crafty weekend

Just a Minute in September...

Planning... My sis in law Melly's baby shower. She is having a boy so there will be another nephew in the family :)
Dreaming... About having an adventure (overseas would be lovely)
Thinking... About my future letterpress business with my wonderful Laura
Loving... The change in atmosphere and weather. I love the feel of the warmth on my face
Being... A good listener (I think)
Adoring... My work mates. They are awesome and make me love my job
Wanting... To be more creative. I feel like my creative energy is lagging a little
Needing... To answer all my mail. Thank you to everyone who sends me pretty mail. I adore you!
Buying... A new Mac laptop or fancy camera
Betting... With a guy from work. I'm not allowed to cut my hair for the rest of the year! Haa. We'll see how that works out. I have no idea what I win though.

I think I have too many plans at the moment. Another idea I have is to make a mail group. Like a pen pal group where you meet up and write letters. I guess it's like a book club and I'm inspired by the Letter Writers Alliance and the other pen pal groups that have monthly meet ups. It would be so fun to meet up write letters, have a hot chocolate or tea, eat some sweets and talk. Does that sound like a good idea?

Hope you have a fantastic week!

Just a Minute in August...

* brooch from Sophie Isobel - This was a gift from Anastasia awhile ago.

 Just a Minute in... August

Thinking... About getting health insurance. After volunteering at the hospital, I would love a private room when I have a baby and I need at least a year on health insurance.

Hoping... I can organise my life better.

Wanting... To get more inspired and to get out of my creative slump

Loving... My work mates. I get along so well with one of the girls and we have a great laugh. Too bad I only work with her once a week.

Planning... A baby shower for my sis in law but it will be even more exciting when we find out if it's a boy or girl

Buying... A pleated skirt... I still haven't quite decided on which one I will get though (Thanks for your comments by the way)

So, I'm also wanting to plan a holiday. I'm thinking of either Europe or the US next year. I'm just not sure where to go first :) What are your suggestions?

Anyway, have a lovely rest of week.

Just a Minute in...July

Age 19, at the church Easter musical eating a meatball before the start. I know it's an attractive photo. ha

Hello my lovelies. It's been another up and down week but at least it has ended on more of a high than low. I guess this post is a Just a Minute Post as well as Happy things to end the week with.

Just a Minute in July...

Cheering... about the volunteer position I got at the Mater Hospital. I really wanted to do the baby footprints and I'm now accepted :) I get to make baby cards and make prints of new born baby feet. Plus had a good ol' chat with the Volunteer coordinator about Etsy and weddings.

Thinking... about changing my Etsy shop completely. New design, new stock, new style. So I will most likely sell everything I have super cheap. Coming soon.

Looking... forward to Finders Keepers this weekend with Jasmine! Can't wait to see all the stalls, the listen to music, to eat. I'm looking forward to seeing the Frankie Magazine stall to get myself some fresh flowers and see their lolly stand.

Also really wanting to get this ring from Style Milk.

But it's going to be hard not to buy things because I just love this market.

Reminiscing... with my Baby Sitters Club books I got from the Lifeline bookfest. I may have to do a post about that.

Learning... to trust the Lord more with my life and decisions.

Trying... to keep myself organised. I have a ton of ideas floating around my head. I need to write everything out.

Anything fun planned for your weekend?

Just a Minute in...June

Taken at French Twist

Just a Minute in...June

Watching... X-Men: First Class, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Amazing Race Australia

Reading... Game of Thrones, assorted magazines (more books as I get them).

Adoring... French Twist Patisserie. They sell macarons and have the most beautiful interior.

Loving... Girl friend dates. I think I need more of these.

Planning... A letterpress idea with my lovely Laura (who is off to Europe for 5 weeks with her hubby)

Looking... Forward to the weekend. Going to the Lifeline bookfest, then off to the Sunshine Coast to stay with my brother and sis in law. And Melly and I are attending Two Golden Hours.

Dreaming... about our future travel. I'm writing a list of places for us to visit. Even looking at places to stay and checking flights. It makes me feel like I am going on a holiday.

Obsessing... Over James McAvoy. I adore him in every movie I've seen him in.

I have a lot of plans and ideas bubbling up inside of me, but at the moment work is sucking the life out of me. What are you up to this month?

Just a minute in...May

My nephew Micah. I baby sat him for a few hours today :) He's such a sweetheart.

Just a Minute in May....

Looking... forward to the Mothers Day service at my church this Sunday. The Pastor's wife and their daughter will be doing a special Mothers Day/Women's message. Sure to be inspiring.

Planning... swaps and details for the snail mail group.

Thinking... about doing some work experience to help with my job searching.

Deciding... to stop constantly comparing myself to other people. It's pointless and it just brings me down.

Admiring... The beauty all around us. I've been captivated by the amount of stars that you can see in the country and the wonder of clouds.

Reminiscing... by listening to old music and remembering the memories associated with them. It brought me back to those times (good and sad).

Loving... Masterchef. I enjoy seeing what the contestants come up with. Plus it makes me adore food even more, especially the desserts.

Wanting... to take some creative classes to get me out of this slump I feel like I'm in.

I know that I'm going through major changes in my life right now and just trying to figure out what it is I'm doing with my life? There have been lots of tears, thinking and praying. I think I know what I want to do, I just have to do it. I need to stop being so critical of myself and comparing myself with other people. I don't know why I do it. And listening to the old music brought back certain memories. Both good and bad. I remember feeling happy but I also remember feeling a little worthless about myself. I think it's the old struggles and the occasional low self esteem I felt. I was good at hiding that part though and always looked happy.

I think this is one of the reasons why I was so big on journalling. I needed to let out my emotions some ways. I remember there were some days when I would lie on my bed and listen to sad music and just think (it's kind of emo really, never thought about it that way) but people thought I was this happy happy person and I know I was, but I had my days.

So, that post completely came out of nowhere and it's completely scattered. I don't usually get too personal on here but there are times when it just comes out :)

Just a minute in...April

Just a Minute in... April

Reading... City of Falling Angels, Delirium, Donna Hay magazine (got my first issue of my birthday subscription)

Planning... The Snail Mail group. I'm trying to think of a name and I'm writing down all my ideas (so excited)

Thinking... About an idea I have to help out with the SHE rescue home

Listing... People participating in the Post Card swap :) (come join!!)

Making... A custom order for rosette hair ties (still in the planning stage)

Exercising... By doing Zumba. Tonight will be my second session and I really enjoy it.

Decorating... And organising my creative space and the lounge room. So many prints to put up.

Loathing... The negative fans in The Hunger Games fandom. They are driving me crazy and I wish there were more people who were being positive about this movie.

Liking... Josh Hutcherson. I'm really starting to see him more as Peeta. Plus it helps seeing more fan made art.

I know they are both kind of similar. But I couldn't choose.

Apologising... For all my Hunger Games posts. I'm sorry but when I read the first book there were basically no fan anything, but now wow! So I really can't help it.

Some questions for you.. Can you suggest any potential snail mail group swap ideas? Most of these swaps are going to be pretty light but ideas are always welcome.

Have a great rest of week!

Just a Minute in March....

Looking... Forward to the birth of my new nephew. I can't wait for a new baby in the family.

Wanting... New boots for winter! Maybe a black pair.

Loving... Callan McAuliffe. I first saw him in Flipped (which is such an adorable movie you must watch it!) and he's also in I am Number Four. I love that he's Aussie and has that whole sarcastic humour going on. Plus if they were going for a younger Peeta in the Hunger Games movie he would be my pick.

Via Tumblr

(These pics are from Flipped)

Hoping... They cast the actress for Katniss for The Hunger Games movie soon. It's driving me a little crazy waiting for news.

Via Tumblr

(I am a fan of Hailee Steinfeld and Callan McAuliffe as Peeta and Katniss)

Being... A complete fan girl with everything Hunger Games (but with the amount of times I have mentioned this series I'm sure you all knew that by now)

Pondering... Whether I should go back to uni mid year (Education doing early childhood?)

Remembering... That it's Jason's birthday this month and must do something special.

Trying... To find more books to read. Recs?

Thinking... About the future and what I want to achieve.

Creating... Headbands and want to be able to sew some bows.

Have a fantastic weekend and thanks again for all your lovely comments :)

Just a Minute in...February

Via Esra Flickr

Just a Minute in February

Reading... Across the Universe by Beth Revis (and an assortment of other books as I come across them)

Looking... Forward to the baby shower (on Saturday) for my future nephew Micah! (Yes I am getting a new nephew)

Planning... My Alice in Wonderland- esque party.

Praying... That Queensland will not have any more natural disasters this year (We got hit by a major cyclone in Northern Queensland a few days ago - sigh)

Wanting... To buy lots of heart shaped items

Wishing... I was caught up with my letters so I could receive more mail

Loving... Pretty girly things

Hoping... To job search thoroughly and actually apply not just look

Thinking... About some creative courses I want to do for fun this year (I might post about the potential ones)

Dreaming... Of all the goals I want to achieve this year

I think next post I will list the creative courses I would like to do this year. I do feel like this is my year to really go for things. To not say I will do it but to just do! I spend too much of my life day dreaming instead of physically doing something. Does anyone else feel this way?

An example that I know this year will be a great year is this. In my Goals for the New Year post I mentioned that I had a goal that was too embarrassing to mention. Well, I achieved it!! It's embarrassing because it's something I have put off for years. And that is getting my drivers license. I've been on my learners for too many years and I just went for an exam (Liz who is a driving instructor took me driving sometimes told me of a vacancy).

It was a snap decision and I figured that if I failed at least I would know what to expect next time. But I didn't fail (there was a lot of hard core praying involved). So there you have it. My first goal completed!

That was hard to admit because I've been so embarrassed about it for a long time. Mainly because most people my age have been driving for years!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Just a Minute in... January

♥ Praying... For my city, my state, my country
♥ Feeling... More positive and proud of my fellow Aussies
♥ Looking... Forward to my 1 year wedding anniversary (24th January) and 1 week off from work!
♥ Planning... My Alice in Wonderland birthday
♥ Wanting... To journal more often and put down my crazy thoughts
♥ Creating... More headbands and other sweet bits and pieces
♥ Hoping... To write all my letters and catch up on everything
♥ Thinking... About everyone affected by the floods
♥ Loving... That the sun is back and it feels like summer again
♥ Listing... Everything I must do and hope to complete in the next few weeks

Thanks again everyone for all your kind thoughts, comments and emails. It does my soul good to have such wonderful support.

Flood wise, I love my city and the people. So many people got out there to help out with the clean up that they had to start turning away volunteers because there were too many people! That's amazing! And it warms my heart to see people bonding together and wanting to make a difference.

Just to let you know. I'm still donating 100% of my Etsy sales to the Flood relief. This will be until the 26th January which is Australia Day.

Everyone have a beautiful week and remember to hug your friends and family and feel blessed that they are with you.
