Happy 3 year Wedding Anniversary

Happy three years to my wonderful husband Jason. I can't get over how quick these years have gone. It's been so amazing and I look forward to many more years to come.

This is one of my fave photos because it captures a funny moment in our vows and every time I look at this photo I remember.

Again I like this photo because our wedding party are all doing something silly in the background.

This was before the ceremony and it's another photo I like. I'm not good at posing so I love photos that are captured naturally.

I love my girls. They are amazing and this was so fun to shoot. We just mucked around which made for some really great photos.

Right now Jason and I are staying on the Gold Coast so will have photos from that time away and maybe I will share more wedding photos (feeling nostalgic for it).

Showing some Memories

I was trying to clean and organise my creative space yesterday but I got so caught up in memories while going through everything.

As I have mentioned before I love to keep journals and other things, a real memory hoarder.

These are some journals and note books from high school. They are mainly journals I wrote in with friends. I'm glad I kept these because I threw out my journals from this age group for some reason I will never understand. There are more of these but with us the rule was we keep the journals that we bought so these are just the ones I had bought and I hope my friends kept theirs.

These are some of my journals from the past few years. I haven't written as much as I used to in high school.

This little poem thing was written by a friend of mine in one of the journals we shared. When I re read this I was so touched. It was a lovely memory.

This was from one of the journals with my friends. As you can see, we wrote about boys a lot. I was writing about some guy I had a crush on and how he smiled at me and this was the first time he talked to me. Haha!

Oh and I wrote a lot on the train and yes back in school I used little circles above my i's and full stops.

This is from my own personal journal from about 3 or 4 years ago. This is something I wanted for my room. I'm writing about my dream desk.

There were times when I would write about my fave song of the day and put lyrics.

My journals were dependent on my mood and I would always write what mood I was in before I write the entry. Mainly,  when I read back I can understand why I wrote what I did. It helps keep things in perspective.

So I hope you enjoyed that. If you liked this, I might share more pages sometime :) Let me know if you are interested in that.

Oh and on other news. I have a new nephew!! Micah was born yesterday via C-Section. We are going to visit him tomorrow! Can't wait!

P.S. Micaela is giving away her namesake headband over at her blog! Go check it out! x

Reminiscing

Hello lovelies! I've had a busy work week and it's so hard catching up with journals, letters, blogging, cleaning...

Anyway, I started feeling reminiscent this week. I think what started it was seeing a good friend from high school that I haven't seen in years. And then while cleaning this morning I was listening to my music on shuffle and a Backstreet Boys song came on. It really made me start thinking about high school. So I thought I would go through some old school photos and share them :) And a few thoughts from those years.

Be aware a lot of these photos aren't great. They are taken with a film camera. Also why I don't have as many photos as I think I would if I had a digital camera back then.

Our athletics team was defending champions. This was a fun photo I remember.

I still see these girls occasionally. They were at my wedding too! This was at a warm up athletics meet.

At the major athletics meet. We came 2ND I think :( It was a real shame. The tiny photo is me wrapped up in our school banner.

Kim, me and Alice again. This is us in assembly. One of the last we ever had in year 12.

My friend Doni and me. He used to call me Pixie because I was so small apparently. He loved hugs.

I think this was my ancient history class. I loved this class it was great.

The top photo is my Physical Education class. And the bottom is modern history.

Most of my classes revolved around sport, dance or some type of history :)

Sorry the photos are so poor. I scanned them as these were printed out and placed in an album already.

Sometimes I miss school and my friends and just hanging out at lunch time. I look back and it was a happy time for me. I was a lot more up beat about everything and I used to dance around and sing without caring.

Here is what I remember from high school....

* I liked soccer players or runners
* I had a huge love for everything Latino/Spanish....music, dancing, people, countries, the language
* I wanted to be a physical education teacher
* I was into R n B music from about year 10 onwards
* I was already obsessed with stationery
* I had journals with friends that we would write in and pass it around until it was filled up. Whoever bought the journal kept it. I still have all those journals :)
* I had a lot of crushes over the years lol
* After athletics training (or hockey training) we would buy a cheese and bacon roll and orange juice (how healthy haaa!)
* I used to love to do 3 way hugs or have 3 way phone conversations (or just use the phone so much more)
* I had some major crush on this guy and only ever chatted to him on MSN. I even talked to him on the phone yet we would never talk to each other in person. I used to see him at athletics training all the time and even when he would be standing there with other mutual friends we still didn't talk!! A very weird friendship. Maybe one day I would go into the story more in depth.

Anyway I'm bummed that Australia was unable to make it through even though they won their last game but I'm feeling gleeful that Italy got out (it's been a four year grudge for them kicking us out of the quarter finals last World Cup lol). It's all in good fun of course.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Introducing my bridesmaids

I thought I would dedicate this post to my beautiful bridesmaids. I still haven't quite got the colour and style of dresses confirmed yet but I really wanted to introduce my lovely girls. I have 5!

Ok I will start with my wonderful matron of honour Liz. She's also my sister in law =) I've known her since I was about 12.

So she has been with me for all my awkward stages. Since I don't have a sister she has been like the sister I never had. We had talks, hung out and she gave me clothes and other things. She always buys me little gifts just because =)

My beautiful Laura. We first met at church at our Easter musical rehearsals. I think I was about 19. And I didn't really know anyone doing the musical so I was by myself. And I saw Laura and thought she looked friendly and I went over and talked to her. She was new to Brisbane.

We had a tendency to dress the same at first. It was pretty funny actually but obviously now it's not the case. She is such a creative person and she inspires me sp much with her photography and design. In fact she is taking Jason and my engagement photos this weekend!

I've actually known sweet Kristina for a long time. We were 8 when we first met at church. But we also ended up going to the same high school.

It was great fun because we shared a few classes together, most notably Physical education and health ed. It's awesome that we have known each other and been friends for 16 years!! Plus she makes some really yummy cupcakes and other desserts!

This is lovely Melissa. She's my middle brother Alvin's fiance. And she's a lovely person. We have had some great conversations and fun times.

At her 25th birthday this year

And it's even more fun now because we get to plan our weddings together since their wedding is in April! Even better we're bridesmaids for each others weddings so it's very special. She's a fantastic cook too! I've eaten quite a few of her dinners.

This is my chica Thara. We've known each other since year 9 at school. So we would have been 14. We actually met because we had crushes on some guys in the year below us (yes how embarrassing) though they were the same age as us funnily enough.

Taken on the weekend at a friends birthday. I just came from work.

We had a great time at school. We used to write notes in class all the time, danced and talked about crushes and went to sporting events to see the guys from the all boy private schools. We volunteered to be officials one year with some other friends at the cross country competition for the boys at our school and the other private boys schools. We were giving out the placings and at times would have some of the guys collapse into us due to fatigue. Yeh fun times. Oh and she also happened to be in the same course at uni as Jason. (I must write a post about high school one day and the memories).

I have a fair idea of what dress styles I like but I have been debating with myself about the colour to use. I think it will be some type of pink. Maybe blush pink?! Of course the dresses in this pic are from Rose and Ruby.

I took this from my Real Weddings magazine. My scanner isn't working at the moment, so I took a picture of it but now it's grainy. I don't mind this pink, so I might pass the image around to my bridesmaids and see whether they like it.

I adore all my girls and I'm truly blessed to have these beautiful ladies in my life. I love them all!
