Mini Wedding Update

Thanks for all the support. I know everything will be fine and I'm focusing more on the excitement of the coming days. I just can't believe how ridiculously close it's getting. It's hard to believe that in 18 days I will be married! It completely boggles my mind but I'm really looking forward to it. This new chapter in my life.

Here are a few wedding things that I'm currently planning or needing to do (very soon!)

* Making ceremony programs. Actually Laura is designing the covers and Jason and I have to figure out what we want to write inside.

* This weekend Jason and I are going to get some photos done by Laura (so talented and creative) for our table numbers. And for examples for our photo booth.

We want to do something similar with our table numbers. Have photos with the table numbers in the photo.

* I have to order the favour boxes and some ribbon. And I'm going to make the thank you tag/cards. It's just a simple favour with chocolate hearts inside.

It will sort of look like this picture. The ribbon will be different though.

* I'm trying to figure out music for first dance, although we have an idea. I pretty much know what song I'm using for going down the aisle.

This is the song I'm thinking for going down the aisle. It's from a coffee ad that I loved! You have to watch the ad and listen to the music. It's based on a Cinderella type story. I would have to put the song on repeat though because it's not really that long.

* I want to try and make these projects and use them as part of the photo booth decor.

* My bridal shower/hens is coming up next weekend! It will be a great day! It's going to be very relaxed. I can say what we are doing because I already know. It's going to be a high tea and a pampering afterwards. Definitely looking forward to it :)

* I bought this ring bowl from Paloma's Nest on Etsy. I didn't really want a pillow and thought this would be different.

* Oh and Jason and I have booked a white stretch limo. We didn't really care about the car because we don't really need one because everything is in the one spot.

* I'm also figuring out gifts for my bridesmaids...I'm thinking of getting them all something different that's more personalised for them....I hope that's not too strange.

Well, most of my posts from now on will probably be wedding related so I hope you don't mind :) And this turned out way more epic than I thought.

Wedding ideas, ideas, ideas!

Hello lovelies! The closer it gets to Christmas the more I start thinking about wedding everything! I'm not getting into Christmas the same way I normally do. But next year....watch out!

I just wanted to mention that my Jason participated in a mini triathlon yesterday! I couldn't be there because of church and work but I'm so proud of him. He does way more exercise and physical activity than me nowadays.

Here are a few images that are inspiring my wedding decoration plans. Even though I would like the wedding theme to be elegant and pretty I really want to add a touch of whimsy and little pops of colour. My main colours were white and silver but my bridesmaids are very colourful in pale pink, lilac and aqua blue.

Considering I have a great love for mail this would be absolutely perfect! It could be the guestbook. You write a little note and leave it in one of the slots.

Image via Style Me Pretty

This is an alternate version to the normal photo booth, a kissing booth! Though it will still just be a photo booth for us.

Image via Style Me Pretty

I adore this table spread. The chandeliers, the colourful bunting, the lolly jars. Instead of a lolly (ok candy we call them lollies here) buffet, I thought we could have a dish/bowl of lollies (maybe Kisses) and have them at each table and make them a part of the centrepieces?

Image via Style me Pretty

Again with my love for mail, this stood out to me. Writing a little note and popping them into the tiny mailbox. This could be another alternative to a guestbook.

Image via Style Me Pretty

Another idea I love was this Wishing Tree. Again another alternative guest book idea. Then it could be displayed for awhile in our future home, if we decided to use this idea.

Image via Ruffled Blog

The jars of lollies which could be put onto each table. Or there could be a scattering around the guest book table/Wishing Well/gift table. The colourful lollies could give the decorations a nice bit of colour.

Image via Ruffled Blog

Another great example of a Wishing Tree. I like the thought of using pretty patterned papers for the guests to write their wishes/thoughts etc.

Image via Style Me Pretty

Another idea which I adore. I was thinking they could be displayed with the centre pieces or to decorate the guest book table etc. For awhile I thinking of popping them on sticks and putting them in a small vase as alternative to flowers since I'm not having them for centre pieces.

This is an invitation and I think it's brilliant! This would be perfect for displays or it could be an idea for a program (might be a bit time consuming and more costly for that though). As an avid reader this is just gorgeous.

Image via SWS Mag

The personalised matchbooks would be a lovely add on if we decide to have sparklers. And I know we will definitely have lots of photo frames scattered all over the place.

Image via SWS Mag

As a butterfly lover, this is precious. When I saw them on the branches I wanted to have branches in a vase as a centre piece with butterflies adorning them. Or the beautiful lantern with the butterflies and mirror. I thought we could have a mini lantern with votive or tea lights inside and a butterfly attached to the handle and the mirror would be a lovely extra touch.

The whole photo shoot was so beautiful. This is more for future inspiration for my birthday or just a girls day.

Well those are just some ideas running through my head. It's getting close to Christmas so I should have a few more Christmas posts before I go all out on everything wedding. Let me know if you like the ideas?? Or have your own suggestions.

And tonight we are looking at another townhouse! Plus we are going to try and do our registry and pick up our rings (it better be right this time). And maybe do a bit of Christmas shopping which we are so behind on. We'll see how much we can get done.

Have a wonderful week!!

Wedding update...part who knows?

Via Tumblr

Thanks for all the lovely comments. iPhone isn't fixed yet just waiting on the part to arrive so it can be fixed. You know sometimes it's easier to just laugh about things instead of being upset when they happen. At the moment it's all I can do.

I'm about to move into 2 weeks of retail hell. So I might not be in the blog world much but then I might be to escape the craziness. The week of Christmas is a 44 hour week. Which is horrible in retail. My shifts are....Sunday 11-6pm, Tuesday 8am-8pm, Wednesday 12pm-12:15am, Thursday 10:15am-7:30pm...Friday - Christmas day wheee!, Saturday 7:45-5pm.

I'm so bummed they made me do late register on the midnight shift and then having to work at 10:15 the next day (technically same day by the time I get home). And Boxing Day is horror. Plus it falls on a Saturday so apparently we don't get double time and half pay, it will only be normal rates. The actual 'public' holiday is on the Monday, if that makes sense, it will to the Aussies.

Then I have about 3 fabulous (note the sarcasm) weeks of kids shoes fitting for back to school. Sigh! Then it will be a week before the wedding!

Anyway, here's an update.....

* I bought my veil and it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. It's just a tulle one.

* We have finally finished our invites. They are not quite as neat or as good as we wanted them to be but we were running out of time. Terrible lighting with the photos.

This is what it looks like. I cut and put the little envelopes together and I cut the monograms out.

This shows the other side of the monogram page.

This page was cut into four pieces and placed into the little envelope. We just thought it would be cute.

* I bought my earrings for the wedding, the only other accessory besides my rings. I don't really wear dangly earrings so these were just cheap ones.

Via Diva

* We had our second session in our pre-marriage course that we are doing through our church. If you are getting married I recommend having some type of pre-marriage counselling/course. I think it really helps with expectations of married life.

* I ordered these for my Bridesmaid's dresses.

I got 2 of the oyster coloured ones, 1 of the ivory and 2 of the peach coloured ones. She made them for me in the peach colour of those hair pins.

* I also bought them some really simple earrings.

Via Diva

They are a bit smaller than these ones though.

* We finally booked our first few nights at the Emporium Hotel...same place where my bridesmaids and I will be the night before the wedding.

* Tonight Jason and I will do our gift registry list. We actually sent out invites without anything on our registry because we didn't know when to do it :(

* We have a meeting set up with our coordinator for the wedding venue. It was hard to figure out a time both Jase and I could do together.

I think they are the main things. There's still plenty to do with booking cars, figuring out centre pieces and other decos, songs, favours etc....

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Giveaway Winner! Whee!

Hello lovelies! I want to thank everyone who entered my giveaway. I used Random.org. The winner is....

So I will be sending out a gratitude journal out to you soon!

I want to say thank you so much for entering my giveaway. I actually have another one lined up and will post about it soon!

But I really wanted to give something else away in this post so I decided to make two more draws to win this....
Tiny Moleskine Volant notebooks. These are really tiny 6.5cm x 10cm (approx 2.5 in x 3.93 in). They are pocket sized and perfect for keeping up with little lists or to note down any thoughts you have during the day. Moleskines are definitely one of my favourite notebooks. These ones are all blank notebooks.

I'll be giving away another two (packs of 2) from the list of everyone who entered.

They are....

Megan of Time after Tea

If you could just email me that would be fantastic! gracienne.nancy@gmail.com

A brief wedding update....

* We went to get our rings today and my ring was ordered in the white gold instead of yellow gold. So it has to be sent away again. Good thing we have time.

* Our invites are basically ready, they just need to be printed. And I'm still gluing the tiny envelopes (it's taking a long time)

* We have a few more townhouse appointments. There is one we both really like. I hope it all goes well.

And I'm starting to have a little freak out. I feel as though I have so much left to do. I can't shut my brain off at night and in the morning I have to get up early because my brain switches on early. I'm feeling really tired and kind of emotional lately.

Anyway, congrats to the winners. I hope you enjoy the tiny Moleskines. Have a wonderful week!

Another Wedding update

Image via Utterly Engaged

There isn't any major news. Lots of bits and pieces. First it's my brother Alvin's engagement party tomorrow. They are having an afternoon event. A sort of high tea. It's crazy that he's getting married in April! It's only 58 days for Jason and me.

Dress for Alvin and Melly's engagement. It's a size too big but I loved it so much!

A list of things.....

* Our wedding rings have come in! We are going to pick them up this weekend. I'm thinking of having them engraved?

* Our invitations will hopefully be printed soon (we're running out of time eeepp!) The printer at my mum's work said he can do it. We only have to pay for the printing. He's not charging for the paper and the cutting. A huge blessing! We were thinking of printing it ourselves because I got a quote from a shop and it was waaayy to much. I bought more ink for my printer and found out it can print double sided :) We will use it for programs and other stationery.

* I've booked the Emporium hotel for the night before the wedding for my bridesmaids and me. It's such a beautiful hotel! Plus Jason and I will be booked in there for a few nights after the wedding.

* Our honeymoon is completely booked and paid for. We picked up all the documents. (I do want to shop for honeymoon!)

* I'm starting to think about decorations for the ceremony site and the reception venue. I know that there will be a photo booth definitely. More about this another time.

* A friend of mine is going to do my hair and my bridesmaids hair. It's going to be quite simple.

Images via Google

This is the style I was thinking about for hair. Just simple curls. For all of us. Maybe put a flower of something in our hair :) What do you think?

* I do need to buy a veil though. I completely forgot. And accessories which will just be some earrings.

Image via Diva

Something similar to that style I think. I don't want them really dangly because I don't really wear dangly earrings. And the bridesmaids will be similar. I probably won't have have anything else though.

Anyway, I'm thinking of putting up the Christmas tree or going Christmas shopping now. I can't quite decide.

Remember to enter my Giveaway. I have a little extra something in store :)

Have a wonderful weekend!!

P.S. I've sent out most of my Christmas cards! So hopefully you get them soonish.

Loss of words

Again I don't really know what to blog about. I might need some ideas for next time =)

I guess I can give a little wedding update. And other random wedding anything.

* Last week I went to the dress maker to get my dress taken up. So next time it will be a perfect fit which is very exciting.

* Jason and I have ordered our wedding rings. Finally. There was a bit of drama with the first store we went to. I think they will arrive next month.

* We have completely paid off our honeymoon to Hamilton Island. It's such a beautiful place and our place is right on the beach.

* I met up with Rachel, again, the lady making our cupcakes (instead of a cake) and we are having two kinds. She is so lovely and has a website, Coochie Cupcakes.

We are going for a similar look except our cupcakes will be chocolate with white whipped butter cream icing and the other will be vanilla with white chocolate ganache icing with a touch of pink fairy floss on top (instead of the gold on this cupcake). We're also having silver cases too and there will be pale pink ribbon around the edges of the cupcake stand. Oh and cake topper so we have something to cut.

* On the invitations I have a better idea of what I'd like to do for it. We are most likely going to design our own and have them printed somewhere. I'm thinking about putting them into a pouch envelope first.

Not exactly like this one but to have some type of pouch to put in other details like RSVP card, wedding party info, a map etc.

I just really like this Martha Stewart Wedding suite. This would have been my original idea if I was going to use my letter press machine. Don't ask why I haven't used it =( lol.

* For the ceremony, the ring bearer (one of my nephews) I thought I would get a ring bowl instead of a pillow.

I like that it can be used as some type of decoration and become a family heirloom. Just haven't decided if I would like to have this text or get our own text put on the bowl. Pondering....

* Jason and I also had our first pre marriage course via our church. We went to the couple's house that will the mentors for the course. The first night was a questionnaire. Next time we will be doing the discussion part.

I have some other wedding inspiration and ideas but I will leave that for next time. I have my lovely Laura's bday party tomorrow night. And next week Jason and I are going down to Bathurst for one of his cousins' weddings.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Wedding Invitations

Thanks for all your lovely comments about the brides maid dresses. I'm so glad I have finally made a decision.

Had a busy weekend with work, a beach trip and a 21st birthday. The beach was fantastic! Jason and I went up to the Sunshine Coast. Melly my brother Alvin's fiancee had a small surprise lunch for his birthday (a belated one we already celebrated his bday). It was lovely hanging out and having a BBQ. We hung out at the beach afterwards and I attempted to learn how to surf. Not good but then it wasn't a good day to learn. Waves were too choppy. We hung out more then went for Gelato which is so good. The 21st at night we were just too tired to stay for long.

So many wedding things to do. At the moment I'm figuring out wedding invitations. I haven't quite decided if we are going to do print them or have more of a DIY look. If it's DIY I would love for them to look like the Cristina Re ones.

I bought the long envelope and the window envelope and I'm going to play around with it and see if it works or looks dodgy.

Here are a few examples with how these envelopes can be used.

I was going to use this idea but for the invites (this looks like a thank you card) and have a few pages inside with the wedding details.

This is really the colour theme. White and silver. But I've added some pastel shades with the brides maid and some of the other decos will have soft colour.

I bought the silver paper. So I will play around with it soon.

The hearts are raised silver foil. It's pretty and I was thinking about this paper too.

I wanted to add this for a burst of colour. The envelopes great. And the more I see it the more I'm thinking about using them for the invites.

I just love this. These cards are gorgeous and I wish I could use them for something =)

This is one of my projects for the week. Figure out wedding invitations and other stationery. I think it will be fun.

P.S. Check out my guest post on Diamond in the Rough. Here and here. Thanks Sara and team.
