Enchanted night and presents

A few weeks ago I had a little gathering for my birthday. I wasn't here for it so I thought I would have my own little things when I got back from overseas.

I have a few photos from that night and I took some photos of what I received today. Taken in my new room!

This is my table setting. I was in such a rush to set it up as I had Caeleb's 3rd birthday party beforehand.

It was really meant to be a girls only night with some of my closest girl friends but my brother hung around so Jason stayed as well.

A photo of my party favours. I had to take this photo quickly so it's not very neat. They received a set of 3 large notecards, a set of 4 mini notecards, a pen and pencil plus a little glass bottle of random bits and pieces. I painted a coloured letter for each girl and tied it around the glass bottle. I love making party favours and planning parties. It's so much fun!

Here's a close up of some of the notecards I gave.

The table set with the party favours. To see any of the pics better just click on the photo.

A close up of the little glass bottle. You can kind of make out the tiny butterflies, the pom poms, chocolate kiss and maybe the tiny pegs.

Moving on to what I received. This next few are from Jason. We always set a limit and just ask each other what we want. So this is made up of a whole bunch of small things.

There's the new Australian Instyle, Teen Vogue (American) I really like reading Teen Vogue actually lol, book 7 and 8 of the Series of Unfortunate events (I'm reading them all), book 6 in the Alex Rider series and the 3rd installment in the Stephenie Myer vampire trilogy (more about that later).

He got me 3 packs of 100 pages. I love my paper as most of you know.

He also got me some beautiful Christina Re paper. I adore her paper and products.

He got me a gorgeous Guess wallet from this new Guess shop in the city. Plus the desk blotter in the background was also from him =) He got me two other items, a litte wooden desk organiser from Ikea and a white cube shaped bookcase which I will show in the next post about my room.

This was from my friend Thara. Body products which I always need and little undies =) in the drawstring bag.

My lovely friend Laura who is a graphic designer designed the brown wrapping paper for me. I was being really careful when unwrapping it. Plus she got me that beautiful clutch purse.

My friend Kristina got me a cardmaking kit with ideas book, another card kit, pretty paper and stickers! Paper and the like is one of my obsessions.

This is from my brother and his best friend Melly. An assortment of luscious paper, stickers, rub ons, pens, a little address book and a photo frame with a picture of Melly and me. Eeee! Paper!

A close up of the lovely paper. I think I might end up framing some of them instead.

I got this from my sister in law and my oldest brother. A cute black singlet to use for work and other occasions, a pedicure voucher (yay!)and a Hilary Duff roll on perfume. It smells quite nice. Sweet and not too strong which is what I prefer.

This I received from one of my penpals Alicia. It's this pretty ornament to hang, some flavoured green tea (I love green tea) and some Ariel stickers.

And I just have to mention this, I love the Vampire books from Stephenie Myer! Well her first book Twilight is being made into a movie. They have cast the characters and I think they're starting to film. I'm looking forward to this movie.

This is the Vampire family. I don't usually like Vampires as they freak me out but these books are so seductive I guess you could say. A vampire romance book. I do recommend reading the saga.

Anyway, that was long so I hope you all made it through =)

A wrap up

Christmas and New Year are both finished! It's crazy when you think about how fast it has all gone. I do hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

I thought I would do a little wrap up. I've taken photos of the things I received. So I hope you all don't mind that.

This first lot is from friends. The first is from Laura. I love those gorgeous tie up sandle shoes. The next is from Kristina. A jar full of yummy Cadbury Favourites chocolate and some movie vouchers. And the last is some little felt butterflies from Melly to be used for my note cards.

The first present is from my brother Alvin. He got me some of those new Giselle thongs (this is what we call them here).

The next is from Paula my sister in law's mum. It's for my trip overseas. So a great practical present.

The last two pics are from my oldest brother Rolf, my sis in law Liz and the two boys Isaiah and Caeleb. There's a black dress which I use for work, a white knit dress, Tommy Hilfiger True Star body wash, some summer wedges (though unfortunately a bit too big for me), a little Revlon makeup bag with some Revlon eyeshadow and Lancome mascara( my collection of makeup is sparse lol), some blue bikini bottoms and the last thing there is 2 Fast 2 Furious dvd which Liz added as it was meant to be for Rolf but he had already watched it.

This next lot is from Jason's family. The first pic is from his grandma and grandpa. It was a beach style present. So a beach towel, some thongs (flip flops?), some chocolate, one of those Green bags from Coles (a supermarket) and she made one of the coat hangers.

The next is from Jason's dad Peter, step mum Sandra and Melinda his sister. A little jewellery box with a simple pearl charm on a necklace.

The next is from Jason's brother Brodie and his girlfriend Emily. I'm a hot chocolate fan so they got me a little pack with a large mug, some mini marshmellows, hot chocolate powder and this tiny whisk. They also got my the new Alicia Keys album, which I am listening to right now.

The last photo is from his mum. Those yummy gourmet chocolates and this lavender sachet to keep in my drawers. But she also put money towards a ticket for Phantom of the Opera (this March I think it is).

This one is from Jason. He got me the cutest smock style dress, a sweet new bikini which I can't wait to try at the beach, a little headband to use for Christmas at work, a Tamagotchi (lol childish I know - heaps of kids would have received them this Christmas), this Mayan civilization kit (I love history and I thought this was cute at work) and four magazines (which I received before Christmas as they were mainly Christmas issues). There's Martha Stewart Living, Blueprint, Teen Vogue and Inside out. The first three are harder to get here. I got the Teen Vogue because it had Natalie Portman on the front and I love her.

Sorry this is a chatty blog =p. Oh and with everything happening I forgot to mention that I got a haircut. It's quite short. I got it just before Christmas.

I took this in the car when Jason and I were going around looking at Christmas lights. You can't see my hair that well but it's short though it's grown a bit since I got it cut.

This is my first real day off work since before Christmas, so I'm loving it. I had to work on Boxing Day and New Years day. Not fun. And I've been on a shoe craze lately.

Oh and I forgot to say what my parents gave me. They bought me a desk! It's lovely and long. Perfect for my new room. As my brother Alvin is moving out at the end of this week so I'm getting his room and my bedroom is turning into the craft room!
This is the desktop and I have one of those storage units and the other side is a set of drawers. That's what I love about Ikea is being able to mix and match items. I guess it's more a work table than a desk.

I hope to buy this one (the white) after I get back from the Philippines in February. It's like a graduation present to myself. And I think I have worked for it so I think I deserve it? =)

There is so much more to post but I have so much to do. And I'm going away in 1 1/2 weeks to go to the Philippines with my parents and Jason is coming along. His first trip overseas! More about that soon!

Sorry this post is all over the place.

I'm (basically) done

Yay! I had my last exam yesterday and I'm pretty much free! I have a little bit of my independent study to do but besides that I'm finished! And my graduation is finally figured out, so I will be hopefully graduation next month. Yew! Pretty exciting times for me. Though I have gotten a bit sick. Mainly tiredness and a bit of a sore throat.

Well I have a few things to share. It was one my best friend's Laura's 21st birthday party on the weekend. It was a white themed birthday. Everything looked gorgeous with tulle wrapped with white fairy lights, candles which created a warm ambiance, delicious food, a lot made by lovely Natalia. It was a fun night. So here are a few pictures of the night and pics of the presents I got Laura. Actually Me, Natalia and Kristina did get Laura a combined gift. We got her an Australian Vogue subscription which she absolutely loves!

This is a gorgeous print I purchased from lovely Bec of My Charlie Girl. Her name is Coco. It's just in a frame I bought. I love the prints they are so beautiful. Go check out her work. Plus Laura loved it as she's an artist herself and Coco is appropriate for her as she loves Coco Chanel.

I love the Christina Re paper. These are just some little notecards I made her that I thought would be her style.

Just another angle. I kind of liked it =)It never seems to be sunny when I take photos. How weird?!

These are tiny notecards I made her. Each card has a different word I thought was appropriate. I would like to make more of these.

All the handmade items together. I covered a sketchbook with that pretty paper so she can take it on her birthday cruise. I thought she might be able to use it to sketch and note down ideas while on the ship. But it's small a good size, not bulky.

All the items together. I bought that Princess print for myself as well.

And the girls. Me, Laura, Natalia and Kristina. White was such a great theme. So beautiful and pure.

A photo of Laura and me. I look a bit funny here but she's looking gorgeous as usual =)

Just Jase and me out the front of the house. Too bad you can't see the lovely tulle and fairy lights properly.

Ok I'm posing a bit in this pic. I haven't got my heels on anymore so I look so small. The dress is actually nicer in person. It's soft and feels great on.

One last thing is I want to write about this from Natasha. For more information check out her blog. A virtual vintage prom sounds like so much fun. I've always wanted to participate in one of these. So please check it out.

2 Years

* This post has many pictures in it - So enjoy the photos =)*

I had my 2 year anniversary with Jason on Monday (9/07/07). It was wonderful and the past 2 years have been great. We went up to Montville which is in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. We also went to Maleny which is only 10-15 mins away from Montville.

This was at a lookout just before we got into the main town. It is so beautiful looking at the mountains and trees. And we could even see the water as it is not that far away from the coast. It was also freezing! This photo was taken with a flash hence the abnormal light.

This was taken outside of this little store. The place is filled with little gift shops and it has a real country town feel. It's a very quaint place.

Just thought this was cute. It was outside this pretty Shabby Chic shop. But Jason always comes with me into stores and I'm really happy that he does.

I thought those two pictures showed some of the pretty things in store. I wasn't sure if I could take photos inside so I just took them outside.

This store was filled with country style homewares and items. It really is a sweet little place.

Thought I would add in a photo of the beautiful landscape. It's so lovely when your up there on the mountain. I truly loved it. It would be even nicer to visit in the summertime.

This was taken on a wooden swing outside a wood shop. It was a bit windy and I couldn't be bothered to fix my hair all the time as it was always getting in the way.

We ate at a place called the Poets Cafe. I had a gourmet beef burger and Jason had a gourmet chicken burger. We both had hot drinks as it was still really cold no matter how much we walked. We took a lot of photos but this post already has heaps. So I will move onto things we got.

I was only able to get Jason a book he wanted, a hand sewn teddy bear and a handmade card. Here's a pic of the bear.

Meet Pippo. He's handsewn and looks different from the original. I got the template from this blog. Hers is so cute! And she has a template for it. But since I can't really use the sewing machine yet I just handsewed it. And I stencilled the little Autobot shirt for him (as Jason loves Transformers).

These are the things Jason got me in Montville. The wood store where all the items are wood and handmade was lovely. There are vintage postcards, a few other cards, a Montville postcard and a giant pencil that works. I love pencils so he thought it was definately something I like. The vintage postcards are just old vintage ads reprinted. They had so many different kinds but I just chose those ones.

This is what he bought me yesterday we went into the city. The Marie Antoinette book I wanted to read and the Christina Re idea book with CD-ROM. We got it from Borders. I love that store. We went in as he had a job interview. I'll post better pics in another post as this one has so many.

And here is a photo of what Jason gave me for the 2 years anniversary. I have other photos I want to post so I will do it another time.

I do hope it was enjoyable to see many photos. And Jason has gone down to Bathurst with his brother to visit their dad. So he's gone for two weeks =( But I am watching Harry Potter with his mum, his brother's girlfriend and his mum's friend tonight. Exciting!
