Good News!

Being silly as usual

I have a new job!! It's a data entry position in the government sector :) (which is always good to have) I just had to share the news because it all happened so quickly. It's definitely an answered prayer so I thank the Lord. There have been many days and nights of tears, fervent prayer, journal writing crying with Jason so you can only imagine how happy I feel right now. I'm so so thankful to God for giving me this opportunity. And if you have been following me for awhile you know that I've been looking for a long time.

Getting even more personal. I was truly upset and starting to worry because I was getting to my last dollars and have a huge credit card bill to pay off (doesn't help that my other job cut shifts for 6 weeks). But I was trusting in God and He completely came through.

So I will be starting in just under two weeks time. It's a three month contract for the moment but I'm hoping it will get extended :)

Yay!

P.S. I will have my Finders Keepers posts up soon.

Weekend review

Hello my lovelies. I had a pretty busy weekend but it was definitely a fun time all round. On Saturday night I had a Hens night. We went to Draculas, which is a dinner theatre restaurant. It was great. Entertaining and good food.

Jacket - Bardot
Dress - Miss Shop from Myer
Necklace - gift
Stocking - Myer probably
Shoes - Famous Footwear

I always end up in black when I'm not sure what to wear. And it's amazing that I don't have black flats, except my work shoes.

Me, Emma (the bride to be) and Claire.

It's a shame you couldn't take photos inside the place. Claire and I got a lift up to the Gold Coast but on the way back, we went home by a party bus. The other girls all went out afterwards but Claire and I went home. The party bus has a dance floor in the back with a pole. It was pretty hilarious.

My brother Alvin, me, Jason and sis in law Melly.

My brother and sis in law were down from the Sunshine Coast for a wedding so this is us after church in the cafe. But we didn't get to stay for breakfast with the whole fam because I was off to Finders Keepers with Jasmine

There was a photo booth at Finders Keepers. The photographers were Feather and Stone. They are so great and a really friendly couple. Jasmine and I decided to get two Polaroids so we could get one each. I got this one and Jasmine has the one with us using chalk boards. Plus they took some digital photos and loaded them on their Facebook page and we are free to have those :)

It was such a fantastic weekend! I will have more about Finders Keepers later including purchases. Those markets are simply wonderful and I ADORE spending time with Jasmine. She's so awesome. Plus we take lots of silly photos. And to think we met via blogging. I got a great friend out of it :)

Just a Minute in...July

Age 19, at the church Easter musical eating a meatball before the start. I know it's an attractive photo. ha

Hello my lovelies. It's been another up and down week but at least it has ended on more of a high than low. I guess this post is a Just a Minute Post as well as Happy things to end the week with.

Just a Minute in July...

Cheering... about the volunteer position I got at the Mater Hospital. I really wanted to do the baby footprints and I'm now accepted :) I get to make baby cards and make prints of new born baby feet. Plus had a good ol' chat with the Volunteer coordinator about Etsy and weddings.

Thinking... about changing my Etsy shop completely. New design, new stock, new style. So I will most likely sell everything I have super cheap. Coming soon.

Looking... forward to Finders Keepers this weekend with Jasmine! Can't wait to see all the stalls, the listen to music, to eat. I'm looking forward to seeing the Frankie Magazine stall to get myself some fresh flowers and see their lolly stand.

Also really wanting to get this ring from Style Milk.

But it's going to be hard not to buy things because I just love this market.

Reminiscing... with my Baby Sitters Club books I got from the Lifeline bookfest. I may have to do a post about that.

Learning... to trust the Lord more with my life and decisions.

Trying... to keep myself organised. I have a ton of ideas floating around my head. I need to write everything out.

Anything fun planned for your weekend?

Postale Society

I have become a member of the Postale Society. It's a subscription membership and I can't wait to start receiving my post cards that will follow a story. Go to the Postale Society website to find out more about it.

I got my subscription when I was at Two Golden Hours. They will also be at the Finders Keepers markets this weekend.

This is my little postcard packet of little inspirations giving me more clues about the story I am following.

All the little bits inside.

It really makes me curious to how the story unfolds.

You are encouraged to make an inspiration board of some sort with the items. I had to tape it onto a frame. I thought I had a pretty cork board but obviously I didn't.

I'm the biggest advocate for mail and correspondence. There's The Happy Mail Project and I have the Postal Reverie in the works too. Still not 100% sure what I'm doing with that yet but I have some ideas.

So enjoy mail and keep handwritten letters alive.

P.s. Jasmine has a done of look book with me over at her blog. Check it out :)

Ice Skating in Brisbane

Last Friday night, Jason and I went ice skating at an outdoor rink in Brisbane at King George Square. It was for an event called Winter Festival

It is such a novelty to go ice skating seeing as we're not the coldest place in Australia. So it was packed with people. They have food stalls, a bar area and a place giving out free chai tea.

The rink and the orange ice skates everyone wore.

My ice skates. I'm actually not too bad of a skater but it was pretty much impossible to get any real speed because of the amount of people. I found it harder to skate because I had to go slow.

My wonderful hubby Jason. He had to go straight from work.

Me partially rugged up, but it wasn't even one of the colder nights in Brisbane but I was partially sick and didn't know how cold it would be.

I'm so bummed that we didn't take the camera onto the ice. People were taking all these photos and I was wishing I had mine. They even had some fake snow for a bit and it felt incredibly romantic. So we took a pic with the rink behind us afterwards.

I had to take a photo of the City Hall clock. The whole building is so beautiful all lit up at night.

I call this the gingerbread house. It's really an old church. I think it's pretty.

So we had a wonderful time. It was nice to finally have a date night with the hubs because he's been working so much. He's had to bring it home too and it can be lonely to have him home but not being able to do anything.

Hope you're week is going well.

You know you're a book lover when...

I'm a huge book lover so I had fun going through this Tumblr. I chose the ones that were definitely me.

This is also the case with the library.

Ah shirts and jewellery.

This is true. I write release dates in my Filofax.

If I start one I have to finish it.

This happens a lot.

I follow a lot of book related Tumblr accounts. I like to see book quotes, photos depicting books, book piles etc. I have this dream to have a room floor to ceiling with bookcases filled with books.

Something like this would be pretty amazing. The ladders and staircases, the comfy chair with a good view.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Happy Things to end the week with

Hey all. I'm a little under the weather with a cold. It's not bad, I just have a lack of energy. I'm also supposed to go ice skating in an outdoor rink tonight (How Brisbane can do this I have no idea). I have tickets so I will definitely still go.

Happy things to end the week with...

♥ Going to a volunteer information session for the Mater Hospital. I have my interview next week.

♥ I baby sit Micah pretty often. The first pic is Micah trying to sit up by himself (he's not quite 3 months yet though) instead he just fell forward.
The second pic is him crying but his little hood kept falling into his face.

♥ Listening to movie soundtracks. I love them so much and excited to hear that Danny Elfman will be doing The Hunger Games soundtrack! There's also an amazing unofficial score here.

♥ Getting back into making friendship bracelets. I really want to try the chevron pattern.

I'm sort of all over the place today, this cold is making it hard to concentrate. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
