A little peak...

I have a big weekend of work and other social engagements. It's always so busy this time of the year. I have work tomorrow from 8-4:30 (originally 5 but I got a half hour off). First it's off to an engagement party (I swear everyone is getting engaged lately!), then a birthday. I have work until wednesday, with Tuesday night being Myerone VIP night. Sigh so it means a long day of work being 10-9pm, then an 8 o'clock start the next day.

Anyway, I've been so excited about Christmas that I put the tree up already. I'm slowly buying more items as it get closer to Christmas. I can't help it working in the trim section.

Here's a collage of some pretty decorations I have bought this year.

I know it's not the most fantastic photos of the items. I was drawn to these colours. I wasn't even going to have a colour theme. But I love the jewelled pink, blue and purple. With some gold, and a tiny bit of silver and crystal coloured.

This is my tiny 2ft pink tree that I feel in love with and just had to buy. These are the colours I chose for it. The purple, teal and frosted, glittery white. I might have a gold star on top though when I'm finished with it.

This is a little project I have been working on in my down time. I'm in the biggest fairy tale mood. I scanned some picture from some of my favourite images in a Brother's Grim picture book and turned the images into mini envelopes. They are the photos on the left. The pictures on the right are from this flickr user. She has got hundreds are wonderful images.

I just had to share this. It's part of my backyard I took this morning. I love how green the grass is and the trees. It's been raining and storming here for the past few days. Huge storms that one area has been declared a disaster zone. I was at work last night and the lights kept on flickering. My mum said the hail stones were huge and there was so much lightning.

This is a picture of my desk. It's terribly messy. I have so many projects going on I can't seem to keep it clean. The rest of my room look much the same.

Anyway, I want to share more christmas things in future posts.

Christmas is coming soon

Yes it is. Working in retail it has been coming for a few months. A few weeks ago Jason and I went to check out the unveiling of the Myer Christmas windows in the city central store. When we got there it was so busy with children we decided to check out the windows later on that night.
The photos are very clear as it was hard to take a photo at night time. This is just a few photos of the windows.

I think this one is quite cute with all the letters. I would love a room full of letters as well.

The windows were cute and it was great to be caught up in all the excitement of the children looking at each display.

Jason reading a kids book in Borders. We love to go there and just browse around. There is so much to look at all the time.

And we have to drink a Gloria Jeans coffee or in my case hot chocolate. Plus we had some Krispy Kreme doughnuts. You don't realise how excited everyone in Brisbane was when they opened a store here. Yum!

Last Friday Caeleb had a Christmas concert for his kindy. I had some videos but for some reason the sound didn't come out when I loaded them. Sigh. But this is Cael in his kindy room with a present from his parents. The children were all given a gift from the parents from their teachers.
A photo with mum. Caeleb and Liz my sister in law. In his hand he is holding a tiny canvas and easel. It was a present from his kindy teachers. I thought it is absolutely adorable. Caeleb is very creative as well. He loves to colour in and make things.

And this was another gift from the teachers. All his work in a special folder. I had a video of him telling me about his folder but no the sound didn't come out of that either.

Anyway, I want to do a Christmas decorating post soon. I've been buying some decos from work. It's hard not to resist seeing as I'm working in the christmas trim section.

I'm back!

I haven't blogged in a few weeks. I didn't really feel like it because I was working so much. I've only just caught up with reading my blogs on my reader.

I do have a few things to catch up on I think. The first thing I want to mention is I received my absolutely wonderful Pay It Forward package from Anastasia. Wow! It was amazing! So I'm going to share the photos here.

By the way, I need to do my pay if forward too. So if anyone is interested comment or email me. This post has the instructions on the end.

It was so beautifully presented. I wish I was able to take photos of it. But I received the package after work so it was too dark to take photos. Not that it matters as the lighting was terrible the next day. There was a magazine, paper, little bits and pieces to create with. Plus a butterfly cookie cutter (yes!) and those lollies from Darrell Lea which remind me of being young. lol.

These are some of her gorgeous tags. I've always wanted some. And it's going to be so hard to part with them =(

Thank you sooooo much Anastasia! I loved it all so much.

On other news...I've been working hard at unloading Christmas stock at Myer where I work. I'm pretty much the Christmas girl as I'm always rostered there as well. I've bought a few decorations already because there was 25% off for Myer one members. It was so exciting to see all the decorations and put them out on the floor. It's early I know but oh well.

And I have my business cards now. Well I've had them for over a week.

Sorry again my lighting was terrible. My wonderful Jason designed them for me =) So really I should start to open up shop very very soon.

And just a reminder if anyone wants to participate in Pay it Forward. I will send to two people. It will be a mixture of handmade note cards, bits of stationery and maybe even one of my favourite books and other bits and pieces. I will probably tailor it so whomever my two people will be. Let me know!!

Resting until stocktake

The Myer stocktake sale starts next week. So my hours sky rocketed. I was rostered for 47.5 hours with six days straight, but I managed to get it down to 43.5 instead. I'm so glad I was able to because it was just a ridiculous amount.

I am loving the rain though as it hasn't rained properly since about February and we really need it. Our dams need it so much.

Anyway, I am so much more inspired at the moment. I have 50 million ideas running through my head. A few being: making stationary sets (I have ideas for kraft paper and parchment paper), baking some cupcakes, and going to an actual sewing course! Yay! I've emailed the instructor to figure out details. I hope I will be able to.

Here is another flickr mosaic. It's mainly of little baby booties. I find them soo cute and I would love to make some to decorate. Plus I have this dream to be able to make baby clothes and donate them to various charities and other organisations. But this will come in time. The pictures are mainly from Japanese craft books and a few from other magazine images. They are inspiring me lately.

Anyway, I will leave it here and hope you all are well.

More Note cards?? Work and shopping

I've trying to get a whole lot of note cards made for my Etsy. I've been doing it while watching Alias which I've finished all 5 seasons now. So I've just been working on my worktable in my room...in silence for some reason. Oh and my profile isn't compete yet in that Etsy link.

I've decided to make a some basic flat note cards. It's more about the pretty paper envelopes I think.

The flat note cards are quite basic themselves but I'm having fun picking paper for the envelopes. These are all mini note cards. I prefer making them.

I have to come up with names as well. I love this card stock. But I bought it in the Philippines so when it's gone I won't have this particular style anymore.

I really love this paper. It's butterflies and all prettiness. Oh another note, I've been working in the cosmetics section of Myer quite often. I like it as there are more people to talk to plus I get to look at the makeup, body products and the shoes which are really close by. And my sister in law works for Shisheido cosmetics in Myer so I get to see her when I work. The thing is it's hard not too buy things as all the ladies are like " Buy that it looks so good" or " How cute you have to get it." I don't know about any of you but it's nice to get compliments and confirmation to buy something =)

These are my teeny tiny note cards. They are 2" by 2.75". They are basic but good for tiny 'just because' notes.

Here are more but these envelopes are lightly scented. I bought them like that. It's from the Philippines though so again when they're gone they're gone.

I decorated this little Moleskin for fun and was going to put some in my Etsy when I realised I made the front cover on the back. So the little pocket is in the front cover and upside down. Eeep! Oh well guess it will be another little note book for me.

It's quite exciting to start selling my note cards, though I still have soo much to do and finish. So I doubt I will be able to open it until at least mid April I'm guessing. Anyway, thanks for everything!!

A new job!

I have a Christmas casual job at Myer. I received the call to say that I have gotten a job there over the peak trading period. I just wanted a job for Christmas time as I haven't really worked this whole last semester of uni. I didn't mention anything about it but I have a group interview last week, got through that and had to apply to a specific position online and yay got the call. For those of you who don't know Myer is a huge department store here in Australia. The other is David Jones though it is quite up market. I've worked there too and I will not get into the details of that.

Thought I would show a picture of Jennifer Hawkins who is the 'face' of Myer. She was also Miss Universe in 2004. This was taken from the 2007 Summer show for Myer.

A few more things to add. I have one week of class left!! Though I still have 3 weeks of exams and study, but still I'm excited. I really can't believe how close I am to finishing. I can't wait to finally finish studying. Yay!

Swap-bot swap: BOOK of letters && envelope goodies swap! ♥
I swap with Swap-bot!

Oh and I am joining a swap at Swap-bot. I do swaps there here and there. Mainly letter ones because sometimes I will get into it and not receive back or my partner will not put that much effort into it. So anyway, that little icon up there is the link to the swap. It's called the Book of Letters and Envelope goodies swap. It sounds like so much fun. It's based on The Jolly Postman books. Has anyone read these books before?? I remember reading them and always wanting to make them. (My love of letters and mail has been going for a loonnggg time). So now I get my chance. It is going to be so much fun making my little book once I get my partner. And the organiser Danni is such a lovely person.

This is what I love about the internet world. You get to meet some fantastic people that you normally wouldn't have met. Either through swaps, forums or blogs. So thanks to all the great people I have gotten to know through the internet =)

* A side note - I would love to have a giveaway or something =) I see so many people doing it and it seems like such a great idea. I will get back to you on that.

Thought I would end with the last Moleskin notebook that I decorated. I'm thinking of using one of them maybe to keep track of all my penpal details. Anyway, until next time xox
