Shoe Wishlist

Hey lovelies. I hope you are having a great week. One of my biggest obsessions at the moment is looking for shoes for my US trip. I don't know what it is about shoes but I could spend (I do) hours looking for the perfect ones.

Since there will be a lot of walking I want some comfy, but still pretty flats (so no sport shoes unless they are Onitsuka tigers or something). I would love a pair of TOMS ballet flats. I have a red pair of their normal shoes and they are so comfortable.

I do like both of these colours. I'm leaning towards the cream and black ones. Which do you prefer?

I like both these RMK flats. They have a tiny inbuilt wedge so they might be a little better on the feet. I'm not really sure which one I like better. Maybe the nude/flesh ones. What do you like better?

These are Django & Juliette flats. I thought these would be good for comfort because they have the thicker rubber sole. Which colour do you like best?

I still have plenty of time until I have to make a decision but I most likely will get at least a pair of TOMS and some other pair of flats. I will be living in them for 5 weeks so I need comfortable shoes.

If you have any other suggestions let me know.

Belated Birthday Indoor Picnic

Every year I always have a really belated birthday party. I usually have some type of theme. This year it was a vintage, pretty picnic. We were supposed to go to Southbank but it has been raining. Today the weather was so unpredictable. It would be sunny, then cloudy but it didn't rain. I still decided to move my little picnic to my place and have it indoors (it was also hot and muggy outside so being inside with the air conditioning was really pleasant.

My little set up.

I put the lace on the tiny milk bottles to prettify them. And it looks great with the pink paper straws.

I made these paper pinwheels. They are one of my favourite easy decoration to make.

My lovelies. My nephews Micah, Isaiah and Caeleb. And pretty Layla-Rose, Isaiah and Caeleb's sister.

The food. Chocolate dipped strawberries, pepperoni, rice crackers, dips, camembert cheese, raspberry macarons, coconut macaroons (Jasmine made them - delicious!) and some vanilla with pink icing cupcakes.

The yummy cupcakes.

I have a few Instagram photos that I might share another time. Plus I tried to get some photos with the girls but my camera doesn't like taking good photos indoors without a flash. I hope to get some from Jasmine.

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

Etsy restock

Hey lovelies. I've been slowly making a few new items for my Etsy shop. I thought I would stick to making mini notecards for the moment.

Of course it's butterfly related. The butterflies are stuck using sticker dots to give it a 3D effect, although you can't really tell.

I thought I would sell them in packs of two. They will be around $3.00 and I hope to list all of them soon.

What do you think? Do you like these little notecards?

Letter Writing Social

Hey lovelies. Thanks for your comments on my travel journal and any suggestions you left. If you have anymore let me know.

Lately, I've been thinking about holding a letter writing social. Basically a group of people get together and write whatever letters you have in your pile. I got the idea from Letter Writers Alliance. You can share stationery and other writing implements. I see they sometimes have a few typewriters available too.

My other idea is, letters could be written to people who need a little smile brought to their face. The World Needs more Love Letters is a community of people who write positive letters to strangers. Either by writing letters and leaving them in places for people to pick up or to send a bundle to someone who needs to be uplifted. It's such a great idea. I'm thinking of signing up to receive requests to write a love letter.

So I was thinking I could combine this with a letter writing social. We could write letters to our own pen pals, friends and family but also write a few for those strangers that need a little happiness.

I'm thinking of holding one in Brisbane sometime in future. Any Brisbanites that would be interested? What I love about handwritten letters is the time, effort and heart that goes into it. It's amazing how good it feels to see a letter in the postbox after a long day, knowing that this person took time to write about their lives, or to answer questions or to lift your spirits.

Has anyone ever attended a letter writing social? Remember any Brisbane peeps to let me know if you are interested at all.

Have a lovely weekend.

Valentine's Day and travel

Hello lovely people. I trust you had a good Valentine's Day. Ours was quite good. We don't full out celebrate but keep it simple.

Jason gave me this card and wrote a sweet message inside.

I gave Jason this Love Birds card and wrote a little letter inside. I then left it on his bedside table to find in the morning. I had another card but it came too late in the mail.

Jason surprised me with this Travel journal. I wasn't expecting any gifts so this was so sweet.
"I hope this gift is helpful for planning our trip and documenting our travels" - Jason
It was even cuter because he was so excited about the present and couldn't wait to show me the pages inside.

These are the main pages inside the journal. I love it! It's the best size and it gives me space to note down my memories. When I get back from the holiday I will make a journal with photos and other little bits.

I'm so excited for our overseas adventure. So far the places we have on our itinerary are LA, San Fran, Vegas, Grand Canyon, Dallas, Tulsa, Michigan, Toronto, DC, New York and Orlando. It's going to be 5 packed weeks of travel. If you have any suggestions on places to see, things to do, shops to visit and food to eat, please let me know in the comments :)

Just a Minute in...February

Just a Minute in....February

Watching... Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 3D (already watched this with Jasmine), Spartacus season 3, New Girl
Anticipating... The Hunger Games movie. I've only been waiting for this for 3 years
Planning... My belated birthday picnic
Trying... To organise my creative space
Being... Put on a strict budget
Booking... Our trip to the US!

Jason and I went to the Travel Expo yesterday (and today) to look more into our USA trip. Yesterday was good to find information and flight prices. We then spent hours working out an itinerary and putting in place a budget so we can go in August this year. I'm on a strict budget from now but it will be worth it when we go on our trip.

Today we went back to the Travel Expo to book our tickets. I can't believe we finally did it. So I'm sure there will be future posts asking for places to see, food to try, where to shop etc. I'm already planning on what to pack.

If any of you have suggestions now let me know in the comments. There will be a post detailing the rough itinerary sometime soon so any information would be great!

Have a wonderful rest of weekend and week.

Belated birthday update (with a video!)

Hello lovelies. Thanks for your comments. I just adore all my nephews. They make me so happy. As I mentioned before I was going to give a belated update on my birthday. It was an Instagram day but I wanted to document everything.

Jason and I took the day off. He surprised me with some lilies and cheesecake.

We had breakfast at Max Brenner at Southbank. Glad I got a cappuccino instead of hot chocolate. There was even a piece of chocolate in the coffee!

We got waffles for two. Delicious but filling.

We walked over the bridge from Southbank into the City. They have the farmers markets every Wednesday. Lots of food. I wanted to take more photos but there were so many people and it was a stinkin' hot day (meaning I wanted to be in air conditioning and all the hot food was making feel worse).

Afterwards, we went over to Paddington just beyond the city. This is Rara Superstar. I have mentioned this shop a few times.

This was a random juice place. So tiny but quaint and the juice was refreshing on the hot day.

There are a lot of pretty buildings in Paddington. I would go to this art classes just because it's held in a cute place.

Some amazing stores!

When we got home I was surprised to see this package from lovely Alyssa.

SO beautifully wrapped.

The butterfly ring she gave me.

My awesome pinwheel pen she gave me. It was such a beautiful and thoughtful package!

At night we went out for dinner to Sugo Mi. It's delicious. For some reason I forgot to take photos of the rest of the day. All in all it was fun and adventurous.

Now this video was done in the afternoon with my messy hair because it was too hot to leave it down. I hate being in front of a camera and I felt so awkward doing this so please don't judge me too harshly :P

Have a wonderful rest of week.

New nephew Elijah

Hello lovely people. Thanks for all your messages and such about my birthday. It was a great day and I will do an update about it soon.

Last weekend we went up to my brother Alvin and sister in law Melly's house. We went up to meet the new baby. Plus it was a celebration for my birthday with my family.

This is Elijah Benjamin (all my nephews have biblical names). He is so little and adorable and light as a doll.

I didn't realise that he did a little face plant. I hope I didn't suffocate him.

He kind of looked at me here :) Soo clucky.

I'm such a proud aunty of 4 nephews. The boys run strong in the Landicho clan. So I think they are waiting for me to have the girl since it will be the Standen side :)

I hope you have a great week.
