Easter Bathurst Trip

Hello lovely people! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I was away in Bathurst and we just got back very early yesterday morning (1:45am - bed never looked so good after a 12 hour drive). Jason and I went down with his brother and his girlfriend.

It was a fairly relaxing trip. We didn't do too much but I was still exhausted from the trip. Here are a few photos, though I didn't take that many.

This was on the way down to Bathurst. It was a really beautiful day and there was a lot of gorgeous scenery.

There was a lot of this type of scenery too.

I forget that it's autumn because the leaves don't really change colour here in Brisbane but there were so many beautiful coloured leaves in Bathurst.

We were there for Easter and munched on Easter eggs. Plus for some reason Cadbury chocolate tastes so good as chocolate eggs.

We went to the horse races on the Monday but we didn't stay long. It too forever for a taxi to come pick us up and there weren't that many races on. We saw one race. I was surprised at how mild the weather was. I wore opaque tights and had a cardi, but it was only cold in the shade and when the wind blew.

Side Story... I mentioned this on my Twitter but as we were lining up to get in, they were helping this girl out who was completely wasted and could barely walk. Anyway, I happened to turn around again and saw them trying to put her into a car and her legs gave way and she fell. They tried to pick her up and her dress got lifted...to show that she had no underwear on!!

This was on the day we left. It was Erica's (the baby in the picture's) first birthday. She's Jason's niece and one of the reasons we went down to Bathurst. Though we had to miss most of her party because we had to leave to get back to Brisbane.

Jason and I in the back seat of our car. His brother was driving at this point. I do love how the sun is just shining though.

It was a good trip. We did lots or relaxing, eating, watching movies and playing with Erica. But it's always nice to be home.

I do hope you had a great Easter!

Happy Early Easter!

* I love sunset. It's amazing, but I love sunrise even more*

Hello lovelies. I just want to wish everyone a happy and safe Easter. I'm off to Bathurst tomorrow, bright and early.

So I most likely won't be blogging for at least a week. It will be a nice break :) But it will be great to get back into it when I get back from my cold holiday (and long drive there and back, although it will be nice in our new car).

Have a wonderful Easter and remember that Christ died and rose again!

Babies on the Mind

So my nephews, Liz and baby Layla came to visit me last week. I adore having a little baby around to play with.

This is just a little video of Layla. We were trying to get her to say her 'words.' You can hear me speak in the background. I'm the one that goes " Do your words" the first time and a few other things. One day I will do some type of video.

The boys are playing the Wii in the background.

And this is her baby pirate picture. She's showing off her little teeth.

I love it when my little ones visit me. Plus Layla is collecting quite a large collection of headbands and hair clips. That's the way baby girl!

Hope you have a great rest of week. Not sure how many posts I can get out before I leave for Bathurst.

It's an outfit post!

Hey lovelies. I hope you are having a good weekend. I wanted to share this cute little video of Layla, but it's not loading. Instead you get some outfit posts :)

This first one is from Friday night when Jason and I went on a double date with some friends of ours to have dinner and watch a movie (We saw Sucker Punch).

Top: Miss Shop from Myer
Necklace: Mombasa
Headband: Made by me
Bracelets: Gift from Kary :)
Pants: Lorna Jane
Shoes: Target

This is my outfit for today that I wore to church. It's not really that cold yet but I just really wanted to wear my new boots :)

Bolero top: Dotti
Floral top: Quirky Circus from Myer
Watch: Timex (I borrowed from mum)
Jeans: Sass and Bide

So I'm going to try and wear a little more colour this winter. I have a tendency to wear lots of black, grey and white.

I do have a to get a few warmer outfits because we are going down to Bathurst for Easter and it's so much colder there than it ever gets here in Brisbane. Should I just do lots of layering?? I'm so bad with what to wear in cold, cold weather.

Hope the rest of your weekend is going well!

Inspired by...

The 365 Grateful project I found via the Meet Me at Mikes blog. Hailey started this project by taking a Polaroid photo a day of something she was grateful for (and added a little comment about each photo). Looking at the little things each day completely transformed her life and affected those around her. It sounds like such a wonderful project to start.

365grateful.com from hailey bartholomew on Vimeo.

Watch this little video to learn more about how she started the project and check out her Flickr to see the Polaroids she took.

People like this really inspire me. I think I will have to start some type of journal with a list of things I'm grateful for.

It makes me want to be a world changer, someone who isn't just living but really living! I don't know if that really makes much sense. There are so many things I want to do and to start and I think that today I will get moving on those goals of mine.

Do you ever see something or read or watch something that inspires you so much that you feel as though it can't be contained? You need to do something now! That's how I'm feeling at the moment.

For example, I've been going on about wanting to go to Cambodia to help out in the SHE rescue home  but haven't done anything about it. I can't go on a trip this year but I can email to show my interest for next year. And I want to help out some way from here. Even something as simple as writing little letters to the girls or making friendships bracelets to send them. I just feel I need to do something more.

So I hope you feel inspired today :)

Journal Pages

I'm so inspired to create some journal pages now. Here are a few pages from the journal I made for Jasmine in our swap.

We had a list of questions for each other and answered them any way we wanted. Click on the images to enlarge them if you want to actually read what is written :)

How Would You Describe Yourself?

Three Favourite Things to Wear

Who Was Your First Celebrity Crush?

Favourite Part Of Brisbane and Why?

50 Things I Want To Do/Experience (this is just part of the list)

Some Favourite Quotes

Favourite Recipes

If You Had a Magazine, What Content Would You Have?

There were a lot more of course. One thing I do want to learn is to take better pictures and learn how to edit them. Just another thing to add to my list :)

Inspirational Journals

Thanks for all the advice on the journals. I'm actually still not sure what to get :) I would love to get them both but I am leaning towards the gold one.

Well, I've been gathering journal inspiration lately because I've been wanting to make a creative journal for fun. I've done a few journal swaps that I've enjoyed, but I would really like to make one with my memories, dreams, inspirations, future travels.

Here's some I have been gathering for ideas...

This one would be fun to do with my Instax Mini.

This is the cover to a journal swap I did with Jasmine. We answered questions and decorated the pages. It was definitely a fun swap. I had done something similar via Swap-bot, but I realised that I put more effort into my journal. So if I ever do another swap like this it will just be pen pals or blog friends. Let me know if you want me to share more pages?!

Jasmine, did suggest that with the Snail Mail group we do something similar but on a smaller scale. So I will definitely keep that in mind.

By the way, I will be emailing those involved with the post card swap tonight!!

Have a wonderful week!

Help needed

Hello lovelies! I hope the remaining part of your weekend is going well! I just need help deciding something. I want to get this journal from Etsy but can't decide on colour. It's a handmade leather journal from KarleighJae Etsy. Opinions?

I thought this gold one looks stunning and would look pretty in my handbag.

But I completely adore this Robin's Egg blue. It's definitely a favourite colour.

So which one would you choose?? I find it difficult to choose because the gold has been in my faves for a long time but this Robin's Egg blue is making me drool. I can just imagine how soft the covers feel and all the dreams and thoughts that will be written in them.

As for the post card swap, there's only one more day to join. I'm starting to assign partners and will hopefully have more info about the snail mail group soon.

Happy things to end the week and outfits

So I've got two outfits that are kind of random, so I thought I would share them.

Shirt: Hunger Games shirt from Zazzle
Skirt: Mombasa
Belt: Miss Shop from Myer
Shoes: Rubi shoes (el cheapo shoes)

I seriously have no idea why I didn't just put my hands in the pockets. Instead it's half in, half out. I went shopping in this outfit and I love my shirt!

Singlet: Cotton On
Sports Bra: Running Bare
Tights: Target
Shoes: Bloch

So this outfit is a little embarrassing. It's what I wore to my Zumba class. I like wearing tights because they are comfy when exercising (and I used them all the time with dancing). I finally got back my dance shoes which are so much easier to use for Zumba. I used a pair of sports shoes last time and they kept on squeaking on the floor (plus they would grip too much which made it hard to move).

And a few happy things to end my week.

Lots of things to open (this is technically from last weekend)

My first Donna Hay magazine subscription. I hope I will be inspired to cook more.

My Hunger Games shirt.

The Snail Mail group button (still refining it and haven't got a name yet)

What happy things are you ending your week with? Have a beautiful weekend!!

Just a minute in...April

Via Only Molecules Flickr

Just a Minute in... April

Reading... City of Falling Angels, Delirium, Donna Hay magazine (got my first issue of my birthday subscription)

Planning... The Snail Mail group. I'm trying to think of a name and I'm writing down all my ideas (so excited)

Thinking... About an idea I have to help out with the SHE rescue home

Listing... People participating in the Post Card swap :) (come join!!)

Making... A custom order for rosette hair ties (still in the planning stage)

Exercising... By doing Zumba. Tonight will be my second session and I really enjoy it.

Decorating... And organising my creative space and the lounge room. So many prints to put up.

Loathing... The negative fans in The Hunger Games fandom. They are driving me crazy and I wish there were more people who were being positive about this movie.

Liking... Josh Hutcherson. I'm really starting to see him more as Peeta. Plus it helps seeing more fan made art.

I know they are both kind of similar. But I couldn't choose.

Apologising... For all my Hunger Games posts. I'm sorry but when I read the first book there were basically no fan anything, but now wow! So I really can't help it.

Some questions for you.. Can you suggest any potential snail mail group swap ideas? Most of these swaps are going to be pretty light but ideas are always welcome.

Have a great rest of week!

More Hunger Games Casting

Via Tumblr

Right, so I woke up this morning to find the news that Josh Hutcherson is Peeta and Liam Hemsworth is Gale. I have to say that my heart sank when I saw who Peeta was. I guess I had Hunter Parrish in my head for so long that it was a shock to see it wasn't him.

I may or may not have had a little cry when I heard the news, but I think it's more because I was so set on someone and was hoping for a natural blue eyed blonde that will play the boy with the bread (sigh for his blue eyes).

Via Tumblr

Like I said with Jennifer Lawrence, I trust that they chose the best person for the role and that they have a great chemistry, even if he doesn't quite look like Peeta (in my head). And as long as he encompasses Peeta's personality, I'm sure I will get over it (and stop mourning the fact that Hunter Parrish wasn't cast, sigh).

As for Gale, I wasn't too fussed and Liam Hemsworth is an Aussie. I do know that he has had some major backlashing though so I don't know.

Either way, I'm still excited about this movie and will be watching it no matter what. I truly think it will be awesome! I've been a fan of this series pretty much since The Hunger Games was released a few years ago so there is no way I would miss this movie!

Anyway we have the winner of Giveaway

April of The Beholder of Beauty! Yay congrats April! I'll be emailing you soon!

Plus don't forget the post card swap.

I will write more about this Snail Mail group very soon!! Thanks for the interest!
