USA Trip Part 2 Las Vegas

Hello lovely people. I'm having such a hard time getting these posts up. I have so many photos and I don't want to post too many. I'm at home, sick but I will be back to work tomorrow. It's the post holiday sickness/run down feeling.

So this is the first part of Las Vegas. It's such a crazy place. So full of life and energy and I quite enjoyed it. Plus we stayed at the Bellagio which was a real treat for us.

1. Our hotel room at the Bellagio. I fell in love it was so gorgeous
2. Vegas at dusk. This was from our hotel window!!
3. The water fountain show at the Bellagio. There's one about every 15 minutes at night and set to music. It's quite magical to watch
4. Our first night there and I'm drinking an alcoholic slushie! It's quite dangerous because it's so hot there it really tastes good but then you don't notice the alcohol much. This photo isn't great but had to show how weird it is to drink while walking the streets
5. Our first full day in Vegas outside the Bellagio
6. Jason tossing some coins in one of the fountains (can't remember where it was though)
7. Me outside the Venetian? (so don't remember a lot of places)
8. Outside a fountain near the Venetian hotel
9. M&M world. I loved all the different colours that were available. We got some personalised m&m's
10. I had room service that night while Jason met up with a friend. I felt so fancy :p

I quite liked Vegas. I definitely felt like I was on holiday there. The whole drinking wherever was a little weird at first and I felt like an alcoholic with a drink in my hand while shopping. Also, it was really hot! We went for a walk in the wrong direction to where we wanted to go, so when we figured it out we cabbed it back because we were too tired and hot. We did spend the afternoon lying around one of the pools and ordering drinks (I swear I hardly ever drink alcohol, this was probably the most I had my whole holiday). It felt amazing to just laze around the pool. I would have happily spent another day doing that.

The next post will be about the Grand Canyon. I thought that deserved it's own post.

USA trip Part 1 Los Angeles

Hello lovelies. I've finally started to sort through all the photos we took on our trip. I will just share some on here or then you will be seeing a lot of random photos of buildings and such.

These photos are from the first part of our journey, Los Angeles. We were quite jet lagged for this part of the trip but we tried to do as much as we could.

1. Our hotel in LA
2. Walking around
3. Pink Taco at Westfield Century City
4. Madewell - One of my favourite shops
5. At The Grove
6. Watching Mario Lopez tape his Extra show at The Grove
7. More at the Grove
8. The tour bus driver and Jason. He was such a character and made it fun
9. The Hollywood sign
10. At the Chinese Grauman Theatre with the Harry Potter kids handprints
11. Getting my photo taken with Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper outside the theatre
12. With Robert Downey Jr at Madame Tussauds.

The first few days in LA we did lots of walking, a bit of shopping, not so much eating (the jet lag affected our appetites) and a whole bunch of touristy things (we did one of those bus tours which was quite convenient I must say). I was so excited to be there but I also got a little sick on the 2nd day we arrived. Mainly a sore throat and the beginnings of a cold which I had for basically the whole trip. But I definitely still enjoyed myself.

Part two will be Las Vegas. I'm not sure if you want to see my purchases but I will throw a few of those posts in too.

Anyway we have to go back to work tomorrow. We are not looking forward to it after 5 weeks off so I hope it all goes well. Have a wonderful week.

I'm back!

Hello lovelies! I'm back from the US. We got back on Wednesday morning and I'm still sort of struggling from jet lag. On Wednesday I found it so hard to stay awake until night. I went to bed about 8pm that night and conked out as soon as my head hit the pillow.

I have soo many photos and stories to share but they will come in time. I have to say that I'm still quite sad that we had to go home but I'm also glad to be home. I'm dealing with post holiday depression by doing a lot of online window shopping (and real shopping). Jason and I bought a new TV and a new iPad yesterday. Crazy we are!

Hopefully I will have some travel posts up once I organise my thousands of photos. It's a bit ridiculous really. I hope you are all well and I look forward to catching up in the blog world.

Helloooo!

In LA. Near Rodeo Drive (or along it I can't actually remember)

Hey lovelies. This is just a quick post to say HELLO! We are having such a great time here and I will try and share posts when I can. We are in San Francisco at the moment and I'm feeling run down. Trying to get used to the time zone change, battling with jet lag (still) and not eating properly has not helped. But I'm taking it easy and I'm sure I will be able to fight off this cold. I'm still having a lot of fun though :)

I hope you are all well.

Packing.... and gone tomorrow

Hello lovelies. We leave for the USA tomorrow! It still hasn't really hit me yet but I have done most of my packing. Here's most of what I'm bringing.

I had to get a teeny hairdryer because this fringe takes a lot of work. I'm sure there will be a few more items but this is mainly it. I've been so busy this weekend that the fact that we leave tomorrow just hasn't sunk in. Yesterday I had my brother Rolf and sister in law Gem's house warming and I had my 10 year high school reunion afterwards. That in itself was quite an experience (I then watched The Hunger Games at night heee!) After church this morning Jason and I had breakfast with his mum, brother and his girlfriend. And my parents are coming around tonight too. I'm so exhausted already and really not sleeping the best so I hope I can get a good night's rest tonight.

So I'm not sure how the whole blogging overseas will go but if I have time I might have a few random posts. If I'm unable too I will be back in about 5 1/2 weeks!

Have a wonderful time :)

A little visitor

Last weekend we had some visitors come past to say good bye before we head off to the USA. Little Layla-Rose was quite excited to play with my panda eye mask (which was part of a gift for my trip from another lovely friend).

She really is quite adorable. And her cheeks! It makes me feel so clucky again. I really wouldn't mind a little one of my own.

Today we had a public holiday for Brisbane due to the Royal Brisbane Show or Ekka as it's more commonly known as. Jason and I spent the day doing a huge house clean. It was quite satisfying but now I feel as though I'm on holidays already but there are still two days of work left before we leave. Then this weekend is completely packed so I have to do as much trip stuff as possible. One of the things I'm going to is my 10 year high school reunion! It's scary that it has been that long but it will be nice to see some people from school.

Next time I will try and post about my trip packing which I have finally started to do. Have a great rest of week.

It's an Outfit Post!

Cardigan- Ally
Floral Top - Forever New
Skirt - Cotton On
Shoes - Therapy from StyleTread
Necklace - Lovisa

The weather is finally starting to feel a little warmer. I don't feel the need to have to wear tights under skirts and dresses. I thought I would try mixing patterns today. Floral and polka dots. I also chose floral for Megan of Time After Tea. She has a request to send her a photo on how you rock florals. Check out the link to that post to read more about it.

This is me with my nephew Micah after church with his crazy hair. I know I said I would share his story soon but I might wait awhile before I share it. He's such a funny little fella.

Also it's my last week before we are off to the USA. I will be sharing a few of my travels items soon. Four days of work since we have a public holiday mid week. Thank you Royal Brisbane show for a day off. We plan on doing a full house clean before we leave so we come home to a clean house.

I am thinking about how to battle jet lag seeing as we leave midday on the 20th but arrive at 7am on the 20th. That completely wacks me out to arrive on the same day as leaving?! So we are going back in time in a sense :p

Have an awesome week!
