On Honeymoon

Hello all my lovelies! Thanks for all your comments. I'm blogging quickly from my phone and it's really hard. I can't post any pictures yet :(

So much to write about but that will have to wait until I get back.

What we are hoping to do before we go back home....
* Use a paddle boat
* Go on a Reef Viewer which is a glass bottomed boat
* Maybe go on a snorkle safari or just go snorkling ourselves

We also have a few dinners on boats as well. One of them will be on my birthday (1st Feb).

The weather is pretty horrible. It's overcast and rainy but it's hot enough for going swimming.

Anyway, I will get back to blogging and reading all your blogs when I get back!

Bridal Shower/hens

It's 5 days to go! Thanks for your beautiful comments. I never really thought we had a sweet story but I guess re reading that makes me really love our story.

I'm sorry I haven't been around but it's getting so close now and it's all happening. I had my bridal shower/hens on Saturday. Friday night Laura slept over and Melly was there too. We had this massive girly chat into the early hours of the morning. It was great! I haven't had a girly chat like that in soo long. I felt like I was back at school because we were laughing so much. I know that once I'm married I do not want to lose those girly chats.

As I mentioned I had my bridal shower/hens on Saturday. It was absolutely beautiful! It was more of an intimate gathering which I prefer over a large group because I get to spend time with them.

Here are some photos....... All taken from Liz's facebook. Various people took the photos.

Me with most of my brides maids. One is missing because she was off in Melbourne for the Australian Open tennis.

These are Laura's pretty lanterns. She used them for her wedding centre pieces. I'm thinking of borrowing them and putting butterflies like it is here. We also had some lanterns hanging off the pergola. Very pretty.
Another lantern and the pretty heart confetti.

Liz my matron of honour and I. She bought me a sash, badge and tiara of course :)

Crowning me.

Lovely Laura and I.

Gift time....reading the lovely cards. I truly did not expect to get anything.

The toilet paper wedding dress game.

I was being turned into a mummy. I couldn't walk in the end result.

Alice was portrayed as a hippy, boho bride. She's a friend from high school.

The back of my toilet paper wedding dress.

It was a really lovely day. We ate food and talked, some had facials and mini manicures. It was just a really relaxed fun day. I had my hair trial that afternoon too. I love my beautiful girls. They make everything so special.

Sorry I haven't been visiting blog lately. There's been so much happening. We are now officially house owners! We got the keys to our townhouse yesterday! It was so exciting and we are slowly moving things over. Though we dumped a bunch of boxes in the dark last night because our electricity is not hooked up yet.

Anyway, I will hopefully be able to do another post before the weekend. Eeeeeee!! 5 days!!

Questions Answered Part 2

Hey everyone! Thanks again for all your lovely comments. Today's post will be part 2. * Warned it will be long.

Oh before I do that though, I have to mention that yesterday at my last day at work until the wedding my work mates from my area gave me a wedding present and card. It was really sweet and thoughtful! They all gathered around me while they presented the gift and said a few words. I was so touched because it was completely unexpected. And they chose a gift from our gift registry. Although that was easy since we registered at my workplace anyway :)

I might have joined your blog too late, and perhaps you already shared this... but how did you and Jason meet?

Our first photo together at uni.

* Ok, I will start with how we met. Jason and I actually met on the train for the first time while going to university. We were studying on the same campus. But it wasn't really as random as that, he was sitting with a friend of mine Thara who I went to school with. They were in the same course together. It's funny though because I saw Jason on the bus going into the city to catch the train to uni.

For the first year of our friendship, we just talked a lot. He started giving me lifts into uni and there's a lot of time to talk. Plus, I was going through a break up and he was just so refreshing and he was a great listener. We started dating a year and half into our friendship and I think that helped because we spent so much time getting to know each other it was almost a flawless transition. One of my proudest moments was when he became a Christian before we started dating. It was his decision because he wanted to not because I forced him.

Jason's university graduation 2007. Ignore my vacant expression.

Alright, I got a question :(

What's the sweetest gesture Jason has ever done that makes you totally believe he loves you?:)

I'm prepared to be blown away and get all gushy :D

* Haha, it won't be too gushy because I'm not into anything too sweet. I think the sweetest gesture Jason has ever done is his proposal :) But besides that I think just waiting for me. He waited over a year for me to even feel ready for another relationship but he was so patient. I could have decided I didn't want us to start going out at all. He was also the most understanding guy ever. I used to talk to him and cry to him about my break up and he would never criticise or tell me to get over it. And he had every right to. I think it's the little things he does that makes me believe that he loves me. lol told you it wasn't super mushy :p

Oh I do remember something...my friend told me that he used to go to sleep thinking about me and get up thinking about me. Before we dated. I do remember a few more things that are kind of mushy but he will think it makes him look like such a pansy haaa. I might tell you all next time. P.S. He did give me a promise ring for when we first started dating.

We match when we watch sports. This was at the cricket (a sport I was never interested in but Jason got me to go to some games....I don't mind it now)

Ahh... girlie! I'm so nervous! It's only two weeks away! :D

let's see... I'm in need of a right dose of romance right now, so tell me...

what did it feels like when you finally know "ah, this is him!" the one you'll spend the rest of your life with? :D

see, I'm good at asking such a sappy question! ahaha

*this daisy said...

Gracie! 14 days!!! :D :D :D
Okay my question is, HOW did you know that Jason was THE ONE? (: almost similar to little miss tiara's question. we're all curious, i'm sure! (: Love is amazing. But how do you know this is the one you want to spend the rest of your life with? Since nobody's perfect. How do you know when to stop looking?

Wow i am totally enjoying the questions being asked right here! That "aha" moment is something i would like to know too.

I love this photo. He will be a fantastic dad one day. Btw Caeleb does not need a dummy he was 'pretending' to be a baby.

* These 3 comments are all similar and kind of asking the same thing. I can't say I'm an expert at knowing because I think there are different things that let you know. For me personally, I know I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him because I could just not imagine living without him. Even before we started going out I knew his was different and there was something special about him that I hadn't ever experience before. He paid attention to me. He used to make me little photo shop pictures for all sorts of reasons.

One I remember was him sending me a *Big Mac* because I was craving one. He basically took a picture off the Internet and made a little photo shop picture for me. He wrote me a poem :) another time. He knew really random facts (well he remembered if I mentioned them) about me. For example he knew I loved sunrises and he knew I liked to moon gaze. This was all before we started going out.

I guess, in the end I knew that he was the one I wanted to spend me life with because he knew me. He remembered the little things about me which seem so unimportant but made me feel so special. We're absolute best friends and I can't really describe what I knew in my heart, my gut feeling that he is the one I wanted to one day marry. I had never met someone who made me feel so beautiful, special and loved. (besides parents, friends, God of course) So really, I think it's different for everyone and that was just my little story.

You're probably written about it before...but how did he propose? I love those stories!

* Ahh yes, proposal. I have written about this before but I can write about it again :) A lot of you may have missed it actually. This is the long version of it. But I will write about it now.

It happened on a Sunday afternoon before Easter. I remember I had work and I got changed before I went to Jason's house because we were going to an Easter service at our church that night.

Basically, he had an afternoon tea/pre dinner set up for me. It was Turkish bread with dip and some wine. He even had single red rose and some candles set up. While we ate I wasn't really suspicious, but he was drinking his wine quite fast.

Afterwards he gave me this vintagey case and inside there were all these little vintage items with a note corresponding to each item. I had to look at each one in a certain order and read the note that accompanied the item. It started off cute then each item and note started getting more meaningful. The last item was a vintage camera film roll box and I thought it was great. But then he took the lid off and inside was my ring!! He then got down on one knee and proposed.

I had to turn it B&W because my face was red from crying and surprise etc. And the ring slid to the side too. Sigh

I was so shocked because I guess I was expecting it not right then! It was really, sweet, sentimental, thoughtful and I loved it! It was completely perfect for me.

You know I never listed what the notes said or the items. So I thought I would do that now. In order in which I read each note.

1. A stapler - For your love of stationery
2. Scissors & string - For the love of craft you have
3. Pencils - For the designer inside of you
4. Doll - For your love of everything cute
5. Book - For your love of reading
6. Watch - To show all the time we have spent and will spend together
7. Cassette Tapes - For all the music we will hear together
8. Utensils - For all the meals we will share together
9. Travel Book - For when we travel the world together
10. Cigarette case - To show we are the perfect match
11. Glasses - For our aged eyes when we grow old together
12. Photo and frame - To capture all the great memories we will share
13. Bible - To show how truly blessed I am to have found you
14. Film - To start our journey of life together

He really is the most amazing person and I'm so, so excited to be married to him in 9 days!! And thank you for your absolutely fabulous and lovely comments. I hope you make it through this post because it's so long!

P.S. I hope it kind of answers your questions.

Questions Answered Part 1

Via Tumblr
Hello lovelies!

Thanks for your questions. I might have to split this post into two because some of the questions are more in depth.

Since quite a few of the questions were similar...(how did I know Jason is the one) I thought I would write about that next post. Along with how we met and the proposal. They are all linked together anyway :)

Ok question answering time....

I bet your so excited!!!

Here is a question... what flavour is your wedding cake going to be?

and what is one thing you want to accomplish in the next year?

xxx

* We are having cupcakes for our wedding cake with a little cake for cutting on the top. The flavour will be chocolate with white whipped butter cream icing and vanilla with white chocolate ganache icing with a touch of pink fairy floss on top of the white chocolate.

* One thing I want to accomplish this year is to embrace my creativity and really utilise what skills I have. Maybe to really concentrate on my Etsy shop :)

Two questions-

What have you disliked the most about wedding/what's been the hardest part?

What are you looking forward to most about being married?

* I have disliked trying to find a venue. It was one of the first things I did and it was hard to find a place that was beautiful but still within budget. One of the hardest parts for me was finding a bridesmaid dresses. I had a particular look and colour but couldn't quite find it so I had to compromise on my initial idea. It turned out fine though :)

* I'm looking forward most to spending the rest of my life with my best friend. I look forward to travelling together and just sharing some amazing moments together.

Do you guys plan to have kids in the near future?
Did you ever taste real maple syrup? ;)
What is Jason biggest flaw?
What's going to be blue?

* We plan to have kids but not in the very near future. Maybe another 2 years. We don't think we would be ready for the responsibility of having children plus we are too selfish at the moment to want to put all our attention on them :p

* I think I've tasted real maple syrup. My dad brought back a few small bottles from Canada when he went there. So I'm sure I've tasted it :)

* Hmm...Jason's biggest flaw... Haha I think being a procrastinator. It's one of mine biggest flaws too so its not always good with the two of us. Sometimes we are too laid back. But when he does put his mind to it he gets things done but sometimes he can put almost too much pressure on himself to achieve....e.g. Yesterday he got up early to do some swimming training...then work...then gym...then work...then he signed up for a 6.6km run (approx 4.1 miles). All because he wants to be super fit.

* I'm not actually following the Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue...I'm not even doing a bouquet toss or wearing a garter. So nothing blue...

I might have joined your blog too late, and perhaps you already shared this... but how did you and Jason meet?

And what song are you walking down the aisle too?

* I'll answer the first question next post :)

* The song I'm walking down the aisle to is called The Quest. It's just piano music and it's from a Moccona coffee ad. Link to YouTube video if you're interested. It does have to be on repeat though because it's such a short song.

I don't know if you've already mentioned this but...where are you going on your honeymoon?

* We are going up to Hamilton Island in Queensland. It's in the Great Barrier Reef and it's an absolutely stunning location. Our room is right on the beach. You basically just have to step off the terrace and there is the beach.

So that's it. I will be answering the other questions in the next post. If there is anything else you'd like to ask go ahead :) Thanks again for the comments and questions and for being interested.

The next bit will be the more mushy stuff. lol. But I'm not a super mushy girl so it's not going to be so sweet you feel like puking. Not that there is anything wrong with the overly sweet, I'm just not as into it :)

Have a lovely rest of week!

I don't know....

Via Flickr

I don't really know what else to write in terms of wedding plans. It's so close now and it feels like I've covered most things.

Yesterday Jason and I hung out with Laura and Josh at the Gold Coast. We got some photos done at one of the beaches. It's for our table numbers. I will hopefully show photos when they are ready.

I've seen a few people do this on blogs....asking blog friends to ask any questions they have. Soo...ask away??!! Within reason of course :)

I'm seriously at loss for words right now....Or maybe you could suggest what you want me to post about in the next few weeks. 14 Days!!!!

Thanks for all your comments and support. You're all so wonderful!!

A pretty party

Amidst all this wedding excitement it's also my birthday about a week after. The 1st of February. We will be on the last day of our honeymoon on my 25th birthday. Special yet I still want to have a girly party like I have for the past 3 birthdays. It's almost tradition now :)

Here are some lovely party like images that I like and will be part of the inspiration for my birthday.

This would look completely adorable! Especially because our new place has a pergola that I could hang some pretty parasols off.

I think it will be a colourful affair. I really love the picnic blanket in the background.

It will have to have tea and cupcakes. A sort of colour Alice in Wonderland type of party I think.

I would love to have some lolly jars and yummy dessert.

It would be cute to have a little beauty area.

Mismatched chairs with pretty cushions would fit into the Alice in Wonderland decor scheme.

Even more colourful prettiness.

Definitely will be paper pompoms and paper lanterns with lots of dessert.

Or one day I would love to go to this shop with my girls.

Yes, it's a very girly affair but I like to keep my birthday girlier. Usually Jason will be there and sometimes my brother Alvin too. But they seem to enjoy them :)

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Mini Wedding Update

Thanks for all the support. I know everything will be fine and I'm focusing more on the excitement of the coming days. I just can't believe how ridiculously close it's getting. It's hard to believe that in 18 days I will be married! It completely boggles my mind but I'm really looking forward to it. This new chapter in my life.

Here are a few wedding things that I'm currently planning or needing to do (very soon!)

* Making ceremony programs. Actually Laura is designing the covers and Jason and I have to figure out what we want to write inside.

* This weekend Jason and I are going to get some photos done by Laura (so talented and creative) for our table numbers. And for examples for our photo booth.

We want to do something similar with our table numbers. Have photos with the table numbers in the photo.

* I have to order the favour boxes and some ribbon. And I'm going to make the thank you tag/cards. It's just a simple favour with chocolate hearts inside.

It will sort of look like this picture. The ribbon will be different though.

* I'm trying to figure out music for first dance, although we have an idea. I pretty much know what song I'm using for going down the aisle.

This is the song I'm thinking for going down the aisle. It's from a coffee ad that I loved! You have to watch the ad and listen to the music. It's based on a Cinderella type story. I would have to put the song on repeat though because it's not really that long.

* I want to try and make these projects and use them as part of the photo booth decor.

Via Style Me Pretty (for images and project how to)

Via Style Me Pretty (images and how to)

* My bridal shower/hens is coming up next weekend! It will be a great day! It's going to be very relaxed. I can say what we are doing because I already know. It's going to be a high tea and a pampering afterwards. Definitely looking forward to it :)

* I bought this ring bowl from Paloma's Nest on Etsy. I didn't really want a pillow and thought this would be different.

* Oh and Jason and I have booked a white stretch limo. We didn't really care about the car because we don't really need one because everything is in the one spot.

* I'm also figuring out gifts for my bridesmaids...I'm thinking of getting them all something different that's more personalised for them....I hope that's not too strange.

Well, most of my posts from now on will probably be wedding related so I hope you don't mind :) And this turned out way more epic than I thought.
