Wishlist: Vintage Look Bike

Hello lovely people. My health and wellness has hit a slight snag this week. I'm dealing with stomach cramps and all the things that come with it. So I'm taking it easy for the moment because I have a busy weekend and need to rest so I can enjoy it.

Since I started my 12 Week Body Transformation I've been thinking of fun ways to keep active on the weekends. Plus we are coming up to summer and I want to do more outdoor activities. One of them is to have more picnics. I thought it would be fun to get a vintage look bike to help out with being more active and to get to the picnic destination. I found Reid Cycles and their vintage ladies bikes.
Now I just have to chose the one I would like. I'm leaning more towards the baby blue as I wish the pink was more of a pastel pink colour. Which do you prefer?

I probably won't buy this until after I get back from America (or perhaps I will hint this as Christmas gift :p) But it's nice to have it on the wish list for the moment.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of week!

Health and wellness goals

Hello hello! Thank you so much for all the positive comments from my last post. Since then I've started to make a change with my health, fitness and wellbeing. After much thinking I decided to sign up for the Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation. It started on Monday and today is Day 6. I feel good. It's pretty intense with six days of exercise and a nutrition plan. I've done six days of working out and I'm sore and tired but I honestly feel good. Nutrition wise I'm trying to follow the plan but it has been difficult in the first week. Although she released the exercise and nutrition plan for next week during the week so I will be able to plan my meals better.

It's 12 weeks so I hope I have the motivation to complete it. At the end of the 12 weeks I will be going to America on my girls trip :) So that will be a wonderful reward I think.

I will try and update here as much as possible to keep myself accountable. As for me being a procrastinator I'm working on that and trying not to be so hard on myself.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

A few thoughts.... (a bit of frustration and thinking out loud)

Hello lovely people. It's been ages since I last blogged. I can't seem to get back in the swing of things. I got back from Melbourne about 2 weeks ago and it was amazing! I will have to blog about it soon. So I've been feeling a little off lately. Mainly frustrated with myself. I've come to a point where I'm getting sick of the excuses I make to not do things. I write a to do list but I list way too many things and get completely overwhelmed and end up not doing anything. I was talking to my good friend Jasmine and she has suggested I break down my list and do a little each day. I think this is a good tactic and I've started it this weekend and I think it is working for me.

I think my biggest problem is procrastination. I find it difficult to push myself to do things and end up doing nothing. Some days I feel like I accomplish very little and it then makes me feel guilty which then turns into frustration. Making a change is hard and I've been 'trying' to be organised, to keep my house clean, to cook something new, to exercising more and I put so much pressure on myself.

I know I've written quite a few posts about my procrastination and lack of discipline but there's no time like today to make a change. I'm seriously thinking about doing the Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation (she's a trainer on the Australian Biggest Loser) because I need some guidance with my health and fitness.

Hopefully I will be more positive in my posts soon. I'm going through some personal change and growth.

I hope you are all well!

P.S. The photo is of some of my journals.

Roadtrip Adventure

Hello lovely people. I have some news that is not 100% yet but it's pretty definite and I wanted to share it because I've been thinking about it a lot.

In November this year I might be going on a girls trip to the USA with some blog friends. I've never gone on a girls trip before so this would be a great experience and adventure. And I've gotten the ok from the hubby :p We will start in New York and make our way down to Florida. If you have any suggestions feel free to let me know. It's quite interesting trying to organise this trip with two of us in different states and one in another country!

If you have any suggestions let me know! I'm also going to Melbourne next week. You can not believe how excited I am to go on a break. It will be amazing.

Hope you are all having a great week.

Vintage Treasure Hunt

Hello lovely people! I hope you are all well. A few weeks ago I went to a Vintage popup Treasure Hunt. I went with my sister in law Emmi. It was amazing fun and I can't wait to attend more of them.

Emmi and I got this vintage sewing machine and case for $10! Such a good deal. Emmi kept the sewing machine and I kept the case. I'm hoping to turn it into a stationery case.

I bought the little mint teacup and saucer and these awesome vintage keys. They remind me of Alice in Wonderland.

I also got these handmade fairytale cards made by Kijaro, the lovely lady who organised the pop up shop.

This is on my dining table at the moment.

I just had to add my pretty gerbera flowers. I love how a bunch of flowers can brighten up a room.

I know she is going to have more of these events and I hope to go to them. I really want one of her vintage suitcases and wallpaper.

Hope you are all having a good week.

Lifeline Bookfest winter edition

Hello lovely people. I guess I had a mini blog break without meaning too. I just didn't feel inspired to blog about anything in particular. So hopefully that has passed. A few weeks ago I went to one of my favourite events of the year, the Lifeline Bookfest. It comes around about every six months and it's amazing. Like I always say, books and all for charity, it's a great event.

A few of my children's books for my collection.

A few adult fiction books. Kate Morton is a local author and I enjoy her books.

A few Little Golden Books, a May Gibbs book and another Alice in Wonderland  book for my collection.

More Baby Sitters Club and Sweet Valley books for my other collection :)

I have so many books now but I've started to go through my collection to give a whole bunch of them away. I don't think I could completely commit to ebooks but my book collection is getting out of hand.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Postcard Scavenger Hunt Swap

Hello lovely people. I hope you have had a good week. Lately I've been thinking about mail and letters and I want to do another swap on my blog. It makes me miss my little mail group which I've stopped because it was too difficult to do by myself. So I thought I could do some occasional swaps on my blog instead.

I thought I would host a Postcard Scavenger Hunt Swap. How it works:

♥ I will assign you one swap partner for the duration of the swap. There will be four prompts and each week you will need to send out one postcard to your swap partner for four consecutive weeks. I will give you at least two weeks to find your postcards and then the swapping begins.

Swap timeline:

Sign up closes on the 31st May 2013 Closed
♥ Partners assigned by the 3rd June
♥ First Postcard to be sent 21st June
♥ Second Postcard to be sent 28th June
♥ Third Postcard to be sent 5 July
♥ Fourth Postcard to be sent 12 July

Prompts:
♥ Black and white
♥ Arty/illustration
♥ Colourful
♥ Beauty

These prompts are fairly general so you can send whatever you think fits the topic. This is a pretty low risk swap and really doesn't cost much to send a postcard (interstate or overseas) but I ask to please not sign up unless you are ready to commit to sending four postcards. Plus if you do sign up please send postcards that you will like to receive yourself and to put some thought into it.

To join:
♥ Email me gracienne.nancy{at}gmail{dot}com with the following:
1. Your full and address
2. Whether you are willing to send overseas (depending on who signs up you may need to send overseas so please keep that in mind if you really don't want to send overseas)
3. List 5 likes (to help your swap partner)
4. Your blog/Twitter/Instagram/Other social media site

So this is supposed to be fun but I need to set guidelines because I want everyone who joins to receive their four postcards. Please only join if you have a blog or Instagram or Twitter or some type of Social media site that you can be checked so you don't just disappear on me. I'm sorry if this sounds so strict but mail is meant to be fun and enjoyable and I know it can be disappointing when you don't receive anything.

I hope do more of these light swaps so be on the lookout and sign up :)
