My friend's Hens night

I've been away for a bit from blog land doing stocktake at work. I'm glad that it's over. Plus I have a new book obsession.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It was recommended by Stephenie Meyer on her website and since then I was trying to find the book. Three or four months later I see it on trolly of books to be put on shelves at work, so I bought it that day. I loved it! Click here to read about it. It is going to be a trilogy with the next book coming out later this year, though probably won't come to Aus until next year. I'm not sure what it is about this book but I thought about it all week and ended up rereading it a few times. It's for young adults and has some dark undertones. To me it's a mix between the gladiators of the Roman times to sci-fi fantasy. If you like those type of books you will love this.

Last weekend it was my friend Laura's hens night. I did her invitations. It was on Saturday night. It was great fun! It started off as a kitchen tea before we headed out for the Hens.

A gorgeous tea set that was given to Laura by her fiance Josh. The feathers next to it was for the hens night for us to wear in our hair. I edited the photo of course. The colour is a little faded.
I love these frames with inspirational words in them. The one on the left is the Audrey Hepburn quote ''For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone." And the other frame simply said " You are beautiful." I love them both and I'm thinking putting those words into frames too.

This is a close up of the pretty rhinestone and ribbon used to package the box which held Laura's present. Lovely Lucinda, one of Laura's bridesmaid put it together. And she doesn't think she's creative! It's gorgeous!

This is the outfit Laura had to wear for her Hens. That's her older sister tying up the dress with ribbon. We played a pass the parcel type game which had little bits to put on her as well as some type of task we had to do.

Laura and I at the venue where we had the main part of the hens. She still looks gorgeous even with the green hair and other little bits and pieces attached to her. I can't believe she's getting married in about two weeks time! Wow!

I wish her every bit of happiness and I know that she will be a fantastic wife as she is a friend. Mwa love you lovely girl!
