I spent the day with my parents and my nephews. My parents had work off and they were taking the boys out so I decided to come.
Isaiah, me and Caeleb. We were taking photos in the car while waiting for my parents to buy a few things from the shops. I have no idea why Isaiah is biting the seat belt.
We went to Roma St Parklands as they had a few things for kids because it's school holidays. Before we even did anything though we had to have a sausage in bread for a snack. SO good.
Caeleb had to go on the jumping castle. We had to wait in line for quite a bit though because it's free (when you show your train ticket) or a gold coin donation to a charity. He had fun.
Brotherly love. Isaiah was getting pretty sick of photos by now.
It's a great place to run!
I guess I had to sneak in for a photo. I love my new beret. It's so comfy but I wish I bought a different colour now. It was so cold today! We are in a cold snap. And it was overcast a just a tiny bit rainy. Which was a shame.
These are maps for the parklands. They really enjoyed trying to find their way around.
Caeleb was pretty hyper by now. This is him dancing around on this footbridge and singing.
This is called celebration lawn so I told Caeleb to go and dance in the middle. As you can see Isaiah is completely engrossed with his map still.
My mum took this of us on the celebration lawn. Cael was still pretty hyper here.
I'm sure what this is. It was interesting to look at but by now I was pretty hungry and wasn't really paying attention to the surroundings.
We walked to the main city which only took about 10 minutes. This kangaroo statue is in a place called King George Square. A lot of tourists were hanging around and getting photos with it and Caeleb had to get a photo too.
A lion statue still in King George Square outside City Hall which is getting revamped at the moment.
This is one of the cutest things I've seen in the city lately. Apparently it's part of something called I Knit Brisbane and all around the city there are random objects with knitted bits. This is one of the poles with a cute jumper :) I've heard there are giant wool balls and many statues are wearing jumpers or scarves etc. I have to go back and see if I can spot these items and take photos.
City Hall had this line of knitted bits strung up. It was really quite amazing to see.

I just had to add this. I would love to find one of these giant balls of wool.
So I hope you enjoyed seeing a small glimpse into Brisbane. I can assure you it's a lovely city and a great place to live. Plus we have so much more going on that I realised.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Looks like you had a really fun day all together. I love spending time playing Auntie - gives you the perfect excuse to act like a child for a little while!
Love the knitted items too - we are having lots of Elephant Parades here in England at the moment which have been spread around London. Each model elephant has a different design, its a great different way to raise money and make you explore a city too.
xx
Your nephews are gorgeous, I cannot wait to be an aunty. I am always hassling brendans oldest brother to start having babies. I love all the knitting around the city, so cool. My Nan has been teaching me to knit and I am slowly getting it.
Awww...you guys had such a fabulous time. You seem like a fun aunt to have. Your nephews are very lucky to have such a fun aunt like you

Found your blog via Project You - what a fun day that looks like! And I love the hat, I'd give anything to be cold right now, ha! :)

So very cute!!! Have a gorgeous weekend xx
that gigant ball of wool made my night, hahahah.
Brisbane is such a pretty city.
I love all the knitting that is taking over cities at the moment. There are a few places in Sydney that have been attacked by knitters with the poles and seats and things have little knitted pieces. It adds so much character :)
I loved all the pictures! It looked like you had a lot of fun! Love reading your blog ;)
cuties!x
I always love seeing Brisbane through the eyes of someone else! Maybe we could both choose a spot and post our photos as a fun way to see how someone else sees the world :)
I wondered what those knitted pieces were! There's heaps near Central Station! I would love to find one of those gigantic balls of wool!
