A list of Simple Pleasures

Via Tumblr

With everything that is going on in this world right now I can really hold on to one thing, my faith in God. It's what keeps me from going crazy. It's made me look back and appreciate the smaller things in life. Those little things that you don't really think about or don't always appreciate because we have so much.

Here's a list of the simple pleasure of life that make me happy...

♥ The excitement of a new baby in the family
♥ A smile from a baby (those gummy grins make me melt)
♥ Feeling safe and loved when surrounded by family
♥ The sun shining through the curtains early in the morning

Via Tumblr

♥ Sunday afternoon naps
♥ Opening up a brand new journal
♥ Hearing a song that brings back a memory
♥ An unexpected piece of mail

♥ Finding a quote, a Bible verse or song lyrics that you need to hear/read right at that moment
♥ The sound of rain when you are cosy and relaxed in bed
♥ Finding a book released earlier than you thought
♥ Words of encouragement when you are feeling low

Via Tumblr

♥ Photos capturing moments of happiness
♥ The feel of sun on your skin
♥ Feeling so happy you can't contain it
♥ Companionable silence, when you feel like you don't have to say anything at all

Via Tumblr

♥ Diving into a pool and it makes you feel refreshed on a hot day
♥ Hot chocolate at night
♥ That feeling of accomplishment after a hard day of work
♥ Laughing so hard your stomach hurts with your friends

Via Tumblr

♥ Feeling beautiful with my hubby even when I'm not dressed up, have messy hair and wearing glasses because he makes me feel that way
♥ Looking at the clouds and daydreaming
♥ Gazing at the moon and stars at night
♥ The love of God and how no matter what I do, He is there waiting for me

I'm feeling so thoughtful lately and I can feel a change in the air. I've been journalling a lot lately to get those thoughts onto paper. To clear up my mind. And I know that I was born to do so much more in this life. I don't want to sit back and let it pass without doing some difference in the world.

Do you ever feel this way? Knowing that you have a purpose? What are some simple pleasures in your life?

Your post kinda lifted up my dreary Monday.ü I'm on the search of finding my purpose and your post reminded me of that. Thank you and have a good day :)

i'm right there with you. sometimes i really struggle with this. i love that i am living out one of my dreams for the moment but i def know what you mean about a greater purpose. what i do know is that i'm where God wants me to be right now. and as i wait on him, i'm only called to be faithful in the place that i'm even - if its not where i want to be.

oh and i love this list! its def inspiring :)

So inspiring.

The reading a verse or hearing a song lyric just when you need it, is the best.

I have been very full of thoughts as well. I can feel God making a big change in me but I'm not sure what it is yet. I can feel a tug of war. I think I have a purpose, I hope I am on the right path.

Awesome post! I loved every word of it! :) I've tried starting journals a few times, but I always get a few days in and then go months without writing in them. :( I really do want to make a habit of keeping a journal though. I express myself so much better on paper, so journaling often leads to self-discovery...

Some of my "simple pleasures" are seeing the 1st flowers of spring bloom, walking hand-in-hand w/ my Hubby, and curling up on the sofa w/ a good book. :)

Love your list. The simple things that make me happy are hearing a child's laughter, watching my youngest sister play with my nephew, seeing our neighbours cat waiting on our front deck for us, home time hugs, unexpected snail mail, heck I love expected snail mail!, a home cooked meal, reading a great book ... I could go on and on.

With all the recent happenings in the world, it's important to hold on to the small things that make you smile :)

Your list of simple pleasures is amazing.. Maybe I will do one myself and keep it somewhere visible, so I can always look at it when I am down.
