It's a beautiful day!

Taken this morning

It is the most gorgeous day here today. The sun is shining and there is a cool, gentle breeze. I can't believe it's still winter here with all this lovely weather. I spent the morning furiously trying to get some engagement invitations out so my mum could pop them in the post for me before she went shopping. I might write a post about our engagement party when it gets closer.

As usual I'm at loss at what to post about but I have some sweet photos I want to share with some lyrics to a song I love. The song is With Me by Sum 41

"I don't want this moment to ever end
Where every thing's nothing without you
I wait here forever just to, to see you smile
'Cause it's true I am nothing without you"

Image via Flickr

" Through it all I've made my mistakes
I stumble and fall but I mean these words "

Image via Flickr

" I want you to know with everything I won't let this go
These words are my heart and soul
I'll hold on to this moment you know
As I bleed my heart out to show and I won't let go "

Image via Flickr

" Thoughts read unspoken forever and now
The pieces of memories fall to the ground
I know what I did and how so, I won't let this go
'Cause it's true I am nothing without you "

Image via Flickr

" All the streets where I walked alone
With nowhere to go have come to an end "

Image via Le Love

" I want you to know with everything I won't let this go
These words are my heart and soul
I'll hold on to this moment you know
As I bleed my heart out to show and I won't let go "

Image via Le Love

" In front of your eyes if falls from the skies
When you don't know what you're looking to find
In front of your eyes it falls from the skies
When you just never know what you will find
What you will find, what you will find
What you will find, what you will find "

" I don't want this moment to ever end
Where every thing's nothing without you "

I just love this song. Jason and I always seem to really love emotionally driven songs. So we don't have a special song because they're all sad lol.

Have a wonderful week!!

Weekend inspiration

I'm sort of at loss at what to blog about lately so if anyone has ideas I'm open =) I thought I might post about one of my favourite stationery designers.

I'm a huge fan of Cristina Re. I adore her paper line, absolutely beautiful. I read on the Real Weddings blog that she has opened a store called Where a Girl Goes. Here's part of the description I pulled from the Cristina Re website.

" Offering the complete range of beautiful Cristina Re designer stationery, accessories, plus confectionery, home décor, fashion and more, Cristina’s exquisite new concept store offers a truly unique shopping experience for stylish women with an eye for style and taste for the finer things with all the trimmings.

Celebrate love, throw a lavish engagement party or plan the wedding of your dreams. With a boutique collection of designer papers, accessories and tools, plus an equally blissful selection of sweet delights, the Cristina Re store is the ultimate indulgent destination.

It’s where a girl goes to create her own invitations at the in-store papercraft academy. It’s where a girl goes for high tea with friends, to indulge and delight over a cup of coffee and exquisite cupcakes, macaroons and chocolates."

I'm so completely in love with the whole idea of that shop. It's my dream store! I mean seriously, being surrounded by beautiful paper that I can create with in store while indulging on delicious sweets and being able to hang with my girls. Oh wow! Don't blame me for swooning. It's an absolute dream for me!

Anyway here are some gorgeous photos that I have taken from the website. Her style is quite girly but I love it. Sometimes being overly girly is a bit of a guilty pleasure. I'm really not a complete girly girl (besides loving pink, ballet flats, pretty dresses, beautiful home wares etc I'm actually a bit of a nerd when it comes to epic movies, soundtracks, books and I become a whole different person lol...and I rather wear cute flats than towering heels besides my short stature sigh). Who am I kidding I am girly!...with some nerdiness thrown in haa!

Ok, back to the images after my little side story (so sorry got a bit carried away).

This is Cristina Re herself. I'm in love the items behind her and that old fashioned cash register.

How I adore those pink coffee cups.

This is where you can create your own treasures.

This is her newest addition to her line. Butterflies! Eee!

When I see these images it makes me wish I could deck out our wedding like that but I would never subject Jason to such an explosion of girliness on our special day (plus he wouldn't let me). A bridal shower or for a kitchen tea perhaps? Unfortunately not for our engagement party either, which we are trying to plan.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy your weekend!! And remember if you have any ideas for posts let me know. Oh and to remind you all again about our wedding website if you want to check it out =)

Weekend recap and bridesmaid ideas

Hello lovelies I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Our plans changed a bit. We still watched The Ugly Truth. It was great! Totally inappropriate but oh so funny =) On the Saturday we went to look for wedding rings but we also helped out my brother with finding his groomsmen outfits. And since I work at Myer he needed my discount card and my help.

Anyway, that night we watched the Brisbane Roar soccer game. In my last post I referred to the team as Queensland Roar but their name has now changed. We lost though =( Sigh.

Here's the Roar getting ready for a penalty shot. Our only goal that night sigh.

I just had to add this one. At half time each corner occupied some littlies playing. It was too cute!

On Sunday after church Jason and I had our usual hot chocolate for me and caramelatte for Jason and croissants. That's our breakfast after the early morning service at church. Afterwards we decided to do our engagement registry. It took us about 3.5 hours and I still don't think it's complete. Oh well at least we started it. It was a great weekend!

Well lately I've been thinking about bridesmaid dresses a lot! Still I know. It seems like I'm hardly moving forward with it. The lovely Nicole made a suggestion about Twobirds (this is the Aussie site). I've seen it before but it was a good reminder. Thanks Nicole!

It's such a great concept and it's given me some good ideas. I'm being so indecisive about this I need to just make a decision.

Anyway, I begin my week of planning (since I'm barely working lately). I do want to say that I have a wedding website HERE. I hope do add more details and photos. Hopefully there will be more photos that I don't post here. Have a great week.

Just a Minute...in August

From this morning, she has all these vintage teacups, saucers and plates (I had already taken some of the froth before I took the photo)

Had a lovely long, leisurely breakfast/brunch this morning with my dad, brother Alvin and his fiance Melly. It was great fun and we ate at a local deli that a friend of ours owns. It's the most beautiful day today with simply gorgeous weather. It makes me glad I live in Queensland.

Oh and something interesting and random happened. A lady was sitting across from us and kept on looking up and smiling at Melly and I as we were talking about wedding plans. She then went on to say she worked at some wedding magazine guide and asked if we would like copies for our areas (Brisbane for me and Sunshine Coast for Melly). And we got into this whole discussion about all sorts of things. Funny meeting people so randomly can really put a smile on your face.

Watching... The Ugly Truth (tonight!)

Thinking... About where to get my bridesmaid dresses made

Wishing... I was a lot more organised

Going... To the movies tonight and watching the Queensland Roar soccer team play tomorrow night

Wanting... To join a gym to motivate myself to exercise

Hoping... To go on a picnic next week on the Royal Brisbane show holiday (whee public holiday)

Reading... The new Martha Stewart Weddings mag and the new Bride to be mag...and about to start The Picture of Dorian Gray

Looking... at beautiful blue sky which makes me feel happy

And I got an award from the beautiful Nicole of My Teacups in Peony.

So I award this too...Julia, Laura, Megan and Melissa, Kellie, Paula. I have a ton of people I love really =)

I have another packed weekend with movies tonight with Jason, Laura and Josh. Tomorrow I was hoping to check out Lily-G, the gorgeous home wares store because they are having a car park sale and maybe start putting our gift registry list together and at night we are watching the Queensland Roar soccer team play. And Sunday after church I want to go and spy the Dawn Treader ship they had built for the next Narnia movie The Voyage of the Dawn Treader! I know I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to fantasy movies and books.

What is everyone up to this weekend?? Have a fabulous one! And thanks for all your lovely comments about the engagement photos!

Some Engagement Photos

The lovely Laura has sent me a few of the engagement photos in advance. They're wonderful and I could not ask for a better person to take them for us. She's just absolutely awesome, talented, creative and incredibly sweet!

So here are a the photos she took. And check out her blog. It's just gorgeous! And there are a few others.

We went to New Farm Park and Brisbane Powerhouse. Definitely a popular spot for wedding photos. And as you can see, I chose the first black dress.

Taken by Laura

This was a change room area at the Powerhouse we sort of snuck in and them some people came out dressed in clothes that you would wear for dance practice.

We were pretending to dance here.

I love parasols and sunlight.

I'm probably being lifted or something. I can't quite remember.

One of my favourite photos. Jason was lifting me up so it makes me look taller =)

I like this one too. I'm on my tip toes because I'm so small. I had changed my shoes too.

I took this one from her blog. The Powerhouse is so grungy and cool.

We had a great time and I'm so ever thankful I have Laura in my (and our) lives. She really is one of the most beautiful, generous, kind person I know, one of my best friends. I love her and (and Jason too of course lol). I'm so blessed!

Have a wonderful rest of week!

On a renewed sense of passion

On the weekend Jason and I got our engagement photos done by Laura. We were a little awkward at first because we didn't know how to act natural but over time it got so much easier. Laura is fantastic! I started to feel less self conscious even though there were a fair few people around. There were two weddings at New Farm Park, well they were getting their photos taken.

Afterwards we sat and have a late afternoon picnic which was really lovely. Then the 4 (Josh, Laura's hubby was there too) of us watched Public Enemies.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was intense and really interesting. I was completely fascinated by the story and loved the clothes, the coats and the hats.

While waiting for the ferry I took this photo (I lightened it a bit). It was such a beautiful night or I guess you would call this Twilight. Jason and I took the ferry to New Farm Park. Brisbane is known as the River City so a lot of people take the ferry to parts of the city.

Yet again I'm feeling very dreamy and thoughtful and it makes me want to go outside and sit in the sun and read, write , think and daydream.

This looks so cosy and a great place to relax in the sun. I think I will when we get our house we will need to create a space like this in our backyard. I can imagine myself spending a great deal of time here.

I'm dreaming of our wedding, but I'm also dreaming of our life together. I'm thinking about all the travelling I want to do with Jason. Our plan is to go to Europe next year and maybe go past the US on our way back home. And Laura and Josh got me thinking about living overseas for a few months.

I've been thinking a lot about my future plans. Travel is a definite. But I also want to do a lot of helping other people and being more creative and learning more skills. I told Jason that we should get involved in some type of overseas church activity. I would like to go to Cambodia and help out with the SHE Rescue home and Jason might go over to Vanuatu and help build schools and help to educate and train. I've also wanted to volunteer at the children's hospital and just get involved with helping people more.

I think I'm really starting to see the kind of impact I can make and how I can go out and experience by seeing new places, meeting new people and just loving life. I think I've been a bit stagnant and I feel like I have this renewed sense of passion to just live. I'm so incredibly blessed and I thank God for everything I have been provided with.

Sorry I didn't mean to go on this tangent when I started this post this morning. I actually didn't know what to write about and this just started flowing out of me. So I hope you make it though.

Just had to add a few pictures which pretty much sums up my feelings. That joy and sense of freedom and beauty.
