On a happier note...and books

Via Sherrie St Hilaire flickr

Hello lovelies! I want to say thank you for your wonderful words and support. I'm feeling a lot lighter today and it feels good.

I still haven't quite made a decision yet but I'm feeling more positive about the outcome. I thank God every day for putting such fantastic people in my life :)

Some days all I feel like doing is reading or looking at beautiful pictures. I think there are times when I want to escape into a fantasy world. I know this is the reason why I read more fantasy/sci-fi/young adult books. I read for entertainment and for escaping.

I find lighter books are easier for me to get caught up in. Although I will read heavy books too but not as frequently. I love books and I know that when I have kids I will be encouraging them to read (I want to start a children's book collection for them now...weird?!)

I dream to have my creative space with a wall full of books, a place to create, to write, to be in my element. I will definitely go about making that dream a reality.

I hope you all have the most beautiful weekend! Do something you love :)

reading is a form of meditation for me. Sometimes you just need to escape your own thoughts. Glad you are feeling better <3

Gracie, I started a children's book collection for my kids way before they were born, before I was even married! (so to answer your question- no, it's not weird at all!) I have a room in our house that I call the library, with floor to ceiling shelves that are crammed full of books (mostly children's ones... Narnia, Anne of Green Gables, Roald Dahl books, Betsy-Tacy, Harry Potter- I still read and adore them all!)

I'm glad you're feeling better. I was sending lots of happy thoughts your way!

Have a wonderful weekend. Just sit, read and peruse all the pretty pictures on tumblr if that's what makes you smile.

I hope you have a lovely weekend too! And I wanted to thank you so much for the gratitude journal it arrived today. The first thing I did was write down the three things I was grateful for today and of course winning your giveaway was the first one! Thanks so much, I really needed that today x

Gracie, I want to start a collection for my children too but I have this weird concern that if I do I will jinx something. Crazy right? Speaking of my copy of Catching Fire arrived today, so excited. Glad your feeling better, have a lovely weekend!

I tend to read the lighter books as well, its a way to escape without having to pay too much attention.

I must admit i have started collecting childrens books, mainly the ones i had as a kid but lost along the way. I read over them if im having a crappy day and they make me smile, it takes you back to a simpler time. :)

Aren't books such a magical way to escape??? I couldn't agree more. You found some great photos for this post! It looks great.

Hope you have a terrific weekend and that your decision (whatever it ends up being) brings you peace.

Hello Gracie, just read your previous post. I hope you feel better. There are always times like that at some point in our life. I believe you will find the answer soon!

And reading is simply the best. I feel bad that i just haven't have the time to do it these days!

What a beautiful post...very calming. I really really love reading. I used to read a novel every day (when I was about 16).

i definitely agree that is it sometimes easier to read lighter books, pretty much easy summer reads are my favorite! that is b/c i don't have much time to read besides when I am on an airplane and oftentimes i can't read a whole book in a short flight~!!

I wish you'll find the strengh to make the right decision for your life. :)
By the way, I don't think it's weird to want to start a children's book collection right now. :D In fact, I recently tidied up my bookshelves, found all my old Enid Blyton novels, the books I used to read when I was barely six years old, those my mum read to me and decided that I'd love to read them out to my own children one day although I'm in a quite fresh relationship and wouldn't even think of having my own children yet. Still, I just flipped through all the lovely books for children on amazon yesterday in the evening and thought how wonderful it would be to buy them and keep them until I can read them out to someone. :)
I've been encouraged to read from a very early stage in my life and I really hope that my kids will love and enjoy reading as much as I do. :) And although I'm more a crime/ thriller kind of person, my all- time favourite book is Harry Potter 'cause it helped me escaping into a world full of adventures and friendship.
Enjoy your weekend. :)

I love that you want to start a children's book collection for your future children! It means I'm not crazy! I went to the LifeLine Book Fest last year and managaed to find a full collection of Disney books (it took forever!). I've put them away for my future children :) I want to buy all the books I used to love, like Mallory Towers, Saddle Club, Sweet Valley Twins/High etc. I hope my children enjoy reading just as much as I do :)
