Autumn 'Spring' Clean Week 1

Hello lovelies! Well it is the first week of The Autumn 'Spring' Clean. This weekend Jasmine and I are going to clean and organise our bathrooms. Mine isn't too bad but my cabinets could do with some culling.

Remember you can join in with us and show your progress on Twitter and Instagram. You can add me on both.

We will have some before and after pictures and together we can organise our places.

On other news, I'm getting my haircut tomorrow and maybe getting a fringe! It's a big step because I've always wanted one but didn't think they would suit me. But I'm going to go for it so that will be another big change.

Have an absolutely wonderful weekend!

Organising Project

Hello hello! I hope the start of your week has been good. It's raining here and so muggy. I go from freezing cold air con at work to hot and humid weather outside.

Anyway, Jasmine and I have decided to start an organising/de-cluttering project/mission. In around two weeks time, each week we will have a room or section of the house that will be organised and de-cluttered. One of the best things is you can all get involved so we can help each other out with some Autumn/Spring cleaning. And hopefully keep ourselves motivated and accountable to each other.

To give you an idea on one of the worst parts of my house, here are some photos.

This is my creative space.

I can't even use my desk.

My floor just has stuff scattered everywhere.

My bookshelves aren't too bad but they need reorganising. I have all those other books on the floor.

My second wardrobe for my dresses, belts and scarves.

Each week it will be things like, organise your wardrobe or clean out your kitchen cupboards. So we will just focus on each section and just get it done. Jasmine is going to create a blog button if you want to get involved. Is this something you would be interested in? We are going to show our progress anyway so you can join in if you suddenly feel motivated.

Get organised

I know I was going to do another lot of tagged questions but I thought I should put a different post in between. (P.S. I do recommend you all see Blood Diamond if you haven't already).

At the moment I'm thinking about our week of cleaning, organising and being creative. I'm making a list (of course) with everything that needs to be done in that week. I'm also playing around with my new site but I won't be moving until I have everything all worked out. Jason is helping me with all the technical aspects and design.

So anyway, I thought I would share my creative space and the mess it is in. I figure if I show you what it looks like at the moment, it will inspire me to organise and decorate it. Plus it will keep me accountable to you all.

My bookshelves. I would like to add one more.

The side of my desk. The actual desk is quite messy.

Part of the floor. There is a wedding dress in that white garment bag and it's not mine. I was meant to get my dress and Melly's dress dry cleaned but still haven't done it yet.

The wardrobe in that room. It's also an overflow of my clothes. Mainly my dresses.

So, that's what it looks like but here's some inspiration I've found via Designsponge.

I would like good organisation, personalisation and some colour. Too much of this house is monochrome.

I will get back to making my lists, getting inspiration and reading. Have a wonderful weekend!

It's a New Year

First photo of 2010

Happy New Year Everyone!! Jason and I had a quiet night. With dinner and some wine. I had work for the last 6 days so I wasn't up for a big night.

But wow! 2010! That means in 24 days it will be our wedding day! This month we get married. OHhhh my gosh! It's extremely exciting yet so very scary. Soon there will be many changes.

Today I've tried to start cleaning my room and packing up. I'm really wanting to be more organised for our new place. And I'd love to have a creativity room/office type of space.

I have to more organised as my bedroom now is so messy. Here are a few pictures from today....My attempts at cleaning.

This is my desk where I create, blog, write and read. The pile on the left is mail and packages. My in box tray is overflowing.

I got one of those long Ikea work desks. It would be better if it wasn't so messy.

The floor and desk was so much messier. This is reasonably cleaner than it was this morning. Those piles of magazines are wedding mags.

At our place we definitely want to keep things a lot more organised. So I need to try and sort things out and keep it neat when we move our things in. I would love to have a workspace that looked like this....

I would love for it to look as organised as this.

This place would make me happy.

I wanted to get a little writing desk for the lounge room.

Always wanted a proper writing desk with places for stationery.

I really love the shelf for storage. And the white with pops of colour.

So simple.

For awhile I was contemplating on getting a glass desk from Ikea. So I can change what goes underneath the glass to keep on inspiring.

I like that this would fit in a corner. Lots of space.

I hope it does looks something like this.

Maybe I can work towards having a creative space/office similar to one of these.

My posts from now until the wedding will mainly revolve around organising, wedding plans and 25th birthday ideas. So I hope you will enjoy! 23 Days!

Being Organised

I was hoping to try and organise myself this year. I'm sick of being a procrastinator, but right now I'm feeling a bit ugh...I called in sick the last few days at work. I'm in the children's shoe section working as a shoe fitter for back to school. It's tiring. And if your a parent you know what it's like.

Anyway, I thought to look for some lovely flickr photos about organising. Or just some pretty and cute ideas, I would like to incorporate.

I'm slowly cleaning and organising, but since I haven't been feeling well I've been sitting in front of the tv watching Alias, my all time favourite tv show, while making some envelopes. It's very relaxing.

Photo taken from Picnic by Ellie flickr photos.

I would love to have a pink typewriter. I'm sure we used to have one. Wish we still had it. I would definitely think about tracking down a pink one.

Anyway, until next time xox
